She does a lovely, compelling job of articulating the continuity of Mon Mothma between the previous actress and herself. Also a wonderful spokesperson for these stories. Definitely makes me lean in and want to keep listening.
Love O'Reilly's effort and her performance in the show with the role Mon Mothma, literally all scenes that involves Mon in the show are so enjoyable to watch, her complexity, career and family struggle, her delicacy cover by holding on to her breath as she treads on thin ice, arghhhh love it!!
9 eps into Andor, I absolutely love Mon Mothma and see just how brave, courageous, alone and determined she was during the darkest days of the Empire. She’s just as important and courageous as Luke Skywalker. Genevieve O’Riley really inhabits Mon Mothma ❤
Now that Overwatch has been ruined for me - I will forever treasure you my main. Moira. Thank you for bringing life to her. I could listen to you forever.
I am very much looking forward to see what Andor tells us about Mon Mothma. Like O'Reilly, I've always been fascinated by the character. The idea that she is covertly fighting the good fight right in the heart of Coruscant, with nothing but her wits and political skill, is very compelling. Can't help but think she was an influence on Leia (along with her father, of course.)
Genevieve O'Reilly Shows & Movies 1. Mon Mothma - Star Wars Ahsoka, Andor, Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 2005 - 2016 - 2022 - 2023 2. Officer Wirtz - The Matrix 2 Reloaded, 3 Revolutions 2003
Genevieve O’Reilly has done superb job portraying Mon Mothma. Just the fact that she has done it in span of 3 different decades is impressive enough….but she manages to deliver much, much more! Brava!
Her intensity of expression locks you to the screen. I feel enthralled watching her here just as much as I do in the show. George Lucas cast her originally, but he never got to let her channel that energy in creating the antipode for Palpatine. This actress can bring so much more to a character that's almost entirely unknown, yet is the leader behind the rebels in their most glorious and hard times.
She is so versatile, it's amazing to see. Growing up loving star wars just to see her in it, and as an adult loving Overwatch. I'm always excited to see her name.
Sacrifice is a massive theme in this show, Mon mothma also sacrificed "everything!" Brilliant context for a side character and Genevieve played it brilliantly
She was stunning in Andor, along with Skarsgard they totally stole the show, magnificently written and performed characters. All of her scenes were perfectly executed
The first time watching ROTJ, I wanted to know more about Mon Mothma. Thank you Tony Gilroy and thank you Genevieve O'Reilly for giving us what we've been wanting to see.
She's just brilliant. The entire show has floored me completely. I'd love to see these people make a movie containing the jedi and how they'd handle that but Andor is simply exquisite. The best "star wars" to date. No joke.
Genevieve O'Reilly studying Caroline Blakiston's performance in ROTJ is like an NFL star linebacker studying a Pop Warner kindergardener's tackling technique. 😆
I usually watch/listen to videos at 2x speed because I'm just trying to consume the information. This was the first video in a long while where I slowed it back down to 1x speed just so I could soak in what she had to say. Her expressiveness and cadence, along with her accent, made for captivating listening and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing what she had to say about her character's development. She has a beautiful spirit, and her insight into the character makes me glad that Andor is partially focused on her journey. When it was first announced, I wasn't certain that we needed Andor. But watching her on screen has been an absolute treasure and it makes me wish all Star Wars was more like this show.
When I first heard about Andor I was excited by the idea of a series that delves into the dark, dangerous machinations of the rebellion against the Empire. The show has exceeded my expectations and more. Not only that but I think it's going to get better. A lot of this has to do with Genevieve. She has done a wonderful job of conveying both the desperation to protect democracy and the fear of being caught by the enemy. Her range as an actor is in no doubt but I'm looking forward to it being tested as everything in Mon's life unravels.
Absolutely brilliant casting and writing, the only thing I regret it's that they didn't have Ian McDiarmid, also a brilliant theatrical actor, there. I am sure he would be finally able to give Palpatine, almost comical villain, much needed depth under Tony Gilroy and Toby Haynes.
I was a bit annoyed when I found out Mon Mothma wasn't going to be the central figure here, but I have to admit that it was a wise choice. I fell in love with the Prequels simply because I found all of the intrigue amid the opulence riveting. I loved the Senate episodes of The Clone Wars to be endlessly rewatchable, but I was never quite satisfied with what little the series did with Mon Mothma. At most, it seemed she was only included in Padmé's story arcs. I'm really glad to see her finally given her own time in the spotlight.
She carries herself with so much intelligence and class, she deserves so many more roles in Hollywood. She's exactly the type of strong female character we need in Star Wars, not just Mary Sues who just tell us they're strong 🙄
I know it will never happen, but I want a Mon Mothma spin-off after _Andor_ ends. Basically, just a continuation of _Andor,_ but set during the original Star Wars trilogy, and obviously not featuring the Cassian Andor character. Of course, it would have to be made by the same people who have given us _Andor,_ and in the same style. That way, it would actually be good.
Honestly she and Skarsgard pretty much made the show, with the strong backing of Andy Serkis and Fiona Shaw as key limited characters. Denise Gough is also great as Deedra Meero. The weak link really is Andor. He is as boring and forgettable as he was in Rogue One, unfortunately. Which is why a lot of people didn't even try the show.
To all this actor's fans, here is the original quote that is such an important inspiration to her that she keeps going back to it. Can you hear the error? th-cam.com/video/8ndMKtc-3o8/w-d-xo.html Never has there been a demographic so proud and self congratulating themselves for just existing. Doing nothing and feeling so accomplished. Truly standing on the shoulders of giants.
Wow this actor is so weak. She can't even pretend to like the Star Wars films. She misquotes Mon Mothma. And can't properly recall The Terminator films that were such an 'inspiration' for her of a strong woman. Don't actors have to remember lines and scenes? But our madam can't seem to do either.
@@prodbyANT Cooking burgers and acting are not the same thing. A comparison using your analogy would be served a raw burger with no sauce and just lettuce. That is a similar performance in cooking as this madam has given in this acting interview.

I could listen to her for hours. She has the best calming voice, I love her as Moira in Overwatch!
Woah I never realized she voiced Moira !!
Her accent is so elegant
Her voice is everything to me.
After having her inside my ears for so many hours as Moira in Overwatch I always freak out when I see her on screen 😅
Haha same. She’s great at both.
" one hand gives, the other takes away"
i feel the same way when mossman from half-life 2 hits you with that ro laren star trek voice out of nowhere lol
Same!

I completely share your passion for her!
As do I!@@snowcoconuts8660
Genevieve is to me the epitome of sophistication and articulation. Stunning individual.
Its so satisfying when the actor has passion for the role, she's doing an amazing job on andor
I love how articulate she is, in a way she is as elegant as the character she presents on screen. Great casting.
My reaction to Genevieve O'Reilly everytime I lay eyes on her or hear her voice:
"It was jaw droppingly beautiful. It was genuinely breathtaking."
9 eps into Andor, I absolutely love Mon Mothma and see just how brave, courageous, alone and determined she was during the darkest days of the Empire. She’s just as important and courageous as Luke Skywalker. Genevieve O’Riley really inhabits Mon Mothma ❤
That "I'd be the first to fall" still gives me chills.
She is fantastic. Andor is so great I can hardly believe it.
I can’t wait to see how they flesh out Mon Mothma. We know very little about her, & she’s the leader of the Rebellion!
She is an amazing actress who really delivers the role of Mon Mothma. What an amazing show to watch with such talent carrying that brilliant writing.
Now that Overwatch has been ruined for me - I will forever treasure you my main. Moira. Thank you for bringing life to her. I could listen to you forever.
Why? I just simply refer to that as Mon Mothma since I'm also an Overwatch player and star wars fan.
She’s perfect on the role. Every time she’s on screen it just lights up the room.
She's Mon Mothma. Completely! Just awesome

if you’re interested in her influencing Leia, that is explored in Leia Princess of Alderaan.

She is so deep into this character. I love it, she has diesesrved a bigger rol for years and she was born to play Mon Mothma
Her and Stella’s scene are really good. You can really see how good she is in that show and with tays scenes as well
Sacrifice is a massive theme in this show, Mon mothma also sacrificed "everything!" Brilliant context for a side character and Genevieve played it brilliantly
She has done an amazing job. It is nice to see how Mon Mothma's story being told. Genevieve's Scenes that were cut from Episode 3 were amazing.
MOIRA 🤩
Been wanting more of her as Mon since revenge of the sith! So excited they are finally exploring her character!
She held her own with stargaard and shaw 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Mon means so much to the Star Wars fans. I'm glad you understand. Your character is a real hero

The Pain Genevieve is showing to sacrifice marriage and daughter for the rebellion was woooooow.

whenever i hear her voice i only hear "Géill do mo thoil!" or "Surrender to my will" what that means i only hear moira from overwatch xD

I'm glad we can finally see more development of Mon Mothma
Fav part of Andor she did a great job
Omg irl she's like Moria but she has a more positive personality

Saw her in Andor and then found out she voices Moira in Overwatch
i could listen to her talk forever
Perhaps the only video on TH-cam where it's all love and no hate in the comments section. She's amazing 😍
Andor does justice to her character.
Considering her family moved from Dublin to Australia when she was little, I'm surprised to hear that Irish lilt still in her voice.
Love this show and the ensemble is probably one of the best that I've seen in a TV series.
She's doing such a good job on the show!
She must be protected at all costs
She has the most beautiful voice in the entire world
My power emanatesssss

She is a beautiful woman and a beautiful soul 💙

I think that in 5 years students will be doing critical studies of Andor.
She's kind of stealing the show. I love her performance so very much in Andor.
She carries herself with so much intelligence and class, she deserves so many more roles in Hollywood.
She's exactly the type of strong female character we need in Star Wars, not just Mary Sues who just tell us they're strong 🙄
yo no way moira in star wars ‼️‼️
Moira is voiced by Geneviere O'Reilly, who played Mon Mothma.
Pure Class. IYKYK
She could play Queen Elizabeth I and Margaret Thatcher. She has that look. Amazing actress.
She single-handedly kept me interested in andor. I was ready to put it down already but I’ll hang in there.
What do you think of the show now?
Moira🔥
Damn i thought she was a Brit, shes fantastic as Mon Mothma. Great acting, bravo. I hope she continues to get roles.
That Irish lilt is so appealing
Yeah, I love listening to Irish accents

heal me HEAL ME ALREADY! Throw the yellow orb for once!
What an interesting hypothesis
MOIRA!
Surrender to my will
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Genevieve O'Reilly is ge3nuinely breathtaking
If they ever make an Overwatch movie she should totally play Winston.
Your ignorance frightens me
Moira in real life, far from DBS, would be like :
Pondering anything unusual? Dangerous?
