Exactly. Those of us who keep saying “Andor is better” aren’t saying that every show or movie needs the same serious *tone* ; it’s about the attention to detail, effort, and care of production. It *is* possible to write a story that has a lighter pulpy feel, but tells an intelligent cogent character-based story that makes you feel deeper human emotions and not just the endorphin rush of recognition.
How good is the writing though. Production quality is always high across star wars but the well written story is the standard of star wars we should expect going forwards
This show blows all the other live-action SW shows away by parsecs. These two utterly stole the show, and I'm not mad about it in the slightest. I need to rewatch this show again soon.
I could listen to an hour of O'Reilly talk about the show's costumes, fer real. I *LOVED* her costumes in the first season - the jacket in episode 12 where she opens it up to show her throat to take a deep breath before she throws her husband under the bus or THAT DRESS from episode 7; and even the prison costumes had meaning and craftmanship to them (prison colors being rebel colors? c'mon!).
And especially Andy Serkins finally got to show what an AMAZING actor he really is. In LotR, we saw him digitized, so itbwas hard to tell what of Gollum was really him and what not. But what Any has shown in Andor was … breathtaking … spectacular …. and catapulted him to one of my favorite actors - There is only one way out.
He was the best thing in Black Panther if you're looking for another live action role he was amazing in. But yeah I strongly agree, he is mostly known for mocap and voice work. Not that you can't see how good he is in that already. If they could make a bad actor great with CGI, Sam Worthington wouldn't be polluting Avatar with his stink.
Nice to hear Gilroy is an influence. His writing tips are excellent and he's written novels, screen plays, adapted books for film, and much more. I love her earrings!
Both actors were great, I particularly loved Andy's character, he was so convincing and dramatic along with the atmosphere in that crazy prison. Really great stuff.
I know Disney is suppose to wrap up Andor with season two. But I really hope they continue. The series is just a masterclass is everything, which is incredibly rare for Star Wars. We haven't really had this level of depth since Empire Strikes Back.
He doesn't like to do promo. He said it before. He barely even promoted shows he was the lead of like River. He likes acting. He isn't in it for the promo or for the awards. Gotta respect that.
@@Zippoca I disagree, Andor made R1 so much better, its honestly not masterpeice like Andor but i think its great war film and Cassian Andor personality as a tortured soul in that movie fits considering whats hes been through and how many of his firiends are going to die in season 2.
The original idea for rogue one was changed early on & the script underwent 2-3 more changes before the finished product. I have a feeling rogue one would initially have been similar to Andor in terms of quality. Gotta love studio heads meddling with art
@@MunnwortInterviews with Tony Gilroy actually revealed that Andor was basically like A Team or Mandalorian, raiding a base of the week. He was actually brought on after the initial few scripts were written, to rewrite it like R1. I'd be curious to see R1 the original cut, but bringing Tony Gilroy in probably helped not hurt
every star wars project going forward needs ANDOR level writing, set design and cinematography

100% 👍
Best Star Wars show. No other is a close second.

@@chrisorr3919 the writing for this show is absolutely phenomenal. 10/10

Genevieve is so into this story, like Wow! Her description of the story so far was outstanding.
They were amazing in Andor as Mon Mothma and Kino Loy, respectively
"No one ....is getting out.....alive...!" still gives me chills, cant wait for season 2
To this day. To this day

Hands down the absolute greatest star wars show ever made. Top tier performances from everybody. So looking forward to Season 2 of Andor.

She's ethereal. Great actress.
She’s Breathtaking❤️❤️❤️

Best live action series! ✨
Honestly a really good show.
It’s the best thing I’ve seen in many years
The Episode with the escape contains sooooo much. Watched it over and over
KINO’S in season 2!
When you cast Andy Serkis, you gotta a give him plenty of good stuff and he wad great. I expect to see him in season 2!
I would love Andy Serkis to return
That was the best goddamn Mon Mothma speech I've ever heard 😢
Moira, I love you 😭😭❤
Ahhhhh Kino's coming back!
Wow - Genevieve seems pretty passionate about it
They better bring Kino back one way or another. Doesn't even have to be in season 2. I'll happily watch any Star Wars project with Kino Loy in it.
Best Star Wars show ( 2024)
bro, Moira from overwatch is talking alongside Gollum from lord of the ring about Star Wars.
also Yennefer and Baron Harkonnen is on the show
Where is Stellan starsgard in any video on Andor?

all i hear is moira and i love it
Yooooooooooooooooo
The more I watch Andor the more I wish the sequels were good. what a waste
So much better than Rogue One.
Indeed. I watched Rogue One after Andor. It was a big dissapointment, even bigger than I tought it would be. But Andor.....hmmmm. The best show ever!
@@Zippoca Tried to watch it multiple times even way before this show was created, so boring.

Tony Gilmore must lead Lucas Film and Star Wars to its next Galaxy far far away.
Genevieve, will you marry me?
No
Dddd😂
The Acolyte is better, in shitty way
