Another idea not in the video: “taking them to a competition”! As an organizer I’ve had several instances where parents told me they were signing their kid up as a surprise for a birthday or holiday gift. :) I know this is probably a little tough right now but still a thought :) great video as always though!

Gift cards are extremely versatile, and most cubers just like to pick their own cubes anyway so it's the best option for me if I were to buy a present for a cuber.

The whole gift card thing is super smart really. It’s hard for noncubers, or even other cubers, to remember what cubes you do have. It just makes it easier cause then I can use the money on what I want to use it on when I want to use it!
As a newbie, i can now finally understand why i need the cube mat, the hand timer, lube, and other stuff. Thanks for teaching me Tingman for the tips!

To be clear, make sure that THEY DON'T ALREADY HAVE IT.
spending potentially a lot of money for the G4 timer when they already have it or stuff like that would be quite sad, so, if possible check if they don't already have some (especially for cubes and timers, one more mat, lube, bag may not be a problem...)

Hey Tingman (and Tingfam). Question regarding camera.
Is the GoPro HERO 11 still a viable camera to record solves? WCA guidelines state that cameras must be blank or out of sight of the competitor. Is the front screen of the 11 being off considered blank? Thanks!

I have been cubing for 5 years and never encountered getting a weird cubing present. My dad is a cuber since collage and was the one that got me into cubing and living in a family of my mom knows a lot about speed cubes and has seen my collection many times. My cube collection is still small so really any cube would work. I used to use my dads giant cube collection. Now I recently got a cubing set up and now am asking for my own cubes so I don't have to return them after use. The best thing for me as a present is a cube box. I have a 8 month little brother. After vacation I will leave my cubes on the floor and then he would come along and somehow open the bag and he chewed up my QIYI ms. Also personally I love little cubing key chains. I sure some of you out there do too. A few cubing key chains would be perfect for me.

This one might be a little expensive, but what about the gan robot arm that solves it for you? if the kid wants to learn other algorithms or just wants to see the process, might be an fun gift for them. Same thing applies to adults.
