Please consider adding tire monitors for your truck and trailer. They will save your life and/or future grief. The monitors will tell you the pressure of each tire and if a tire is heating up and needs attention before failure. Trailer manufacturers don't typically put the best-rated tires on new campers. I am speaking from experience. Enjoy your new adventure.
And you can rest assured that the manufacturer installed the absolute cheapest tires on the planet, they always do. I wouldn't be surprised if they are under rated for the weight of the trailer as well. The tires are our fifth wheel definitely were not rated for the weight of our trailer. Tire temp and pressure monitor is a must.
I was following you in your sailing adventures, for the sailing aspect of it. I am happy for your new life style. Thank you for the sailing adventures. I wish you good luck.
Great move guys!! a small bit of advice from someone who has owned 6 RV's in my lifetime. Don't go off spending a lot of money fitting that rig out until you've spent a little time in it. You may want to change into something different after you settle into the RV lifestyle.
A really nice day for you and a little sad for me. I follow about 20 utube videos but yours is the first I ever followed. I will continue for I am invested in your family. Happy for your family but a little sad to no longer have Atticus. By the way are we changing the Name?
Good advice! I have 2 RVs and traded both in for something better suited to me in less than 1 year. One full season is all you need to know what you want, and more importantly what you don't.
We have always looked forward to your videos and boat life. Husband has been a sailor all his life and we’ve also had a caravan (Australia) for a number of years so can relate to your adventures. We are now at the end of van and boat life (82 & 79) and never have we regretted any of it! Love getting out in nature in Australia but are happy to be at home now with an occasional short road trip or sail on a local lake! So blessed, and we send love and best wishes for your future together. Can’t wait to see where you will settle. ❤❤
Take a solid advice from most comments here when it comes to the quality of 97% of RV's. I too owned a travel trailer(feel free to find it in one of my videos from 3 years ago). Bought it brand new in 2018 & 2 years ago, insurance totalled it due to water intrusion. Theres a reason they dont offer long term warranty. They're literally built out of cardboard, particleboard & aluminum. Each travel trailer is built in less than 6 hours. You will be practically worry free the first 15-24 months so long as you treat her right. Then youll start having the typical trailer issues. Slide wont work, water line leaks, etc. The vinyl roof membrane is thinner than what you'd expect. They are literally built to fail within 5 years. You gotta keep a close eye on all of the edges & patch as they start cracking. Pleeeeease dont force yourselves for TH-cam or your fans. Live your lives! Enjoy life. I wish you guys so much amazing luck in your new adventure. Your REAL fans will follow you no matter what adventure you embark on.
You will soon find out just how poorly travel trailers are built compared to the excellence of your boat(s) or any boat. I hope you will not be disappointed with the shortcomings of your new home and it provides you with the interim housing you expected from it.
Luckily for them it is just a trailer, given what lawyers who have exposed the industry's contracts on YT and his know how it will work for them. If they had bought a 'motorhome" I'd be concerned. The truck/trailer combo is much smarter. And while other conversions are fun and quirky and maybe older models used to have much better build quality, fitting in and looking nice is a good move.
You guys look so happy, and at peace with your decision. You made the right one for your growing family. I look forward to your future too, and now you have extended family closer than before. I was happy to see Desiree thrilled to have better medical care this pregnancy, that peace of mind can't be bought, I am glad she has that with this baby.
I am sure someone may have already mentioned this or you figured it out. Change the hitch height. Trailer should be level while towing. Front down means front axle/tires will take brunt of load hence, they will heat up quicker. Everything in time. If plans are to tow a huge amount, recommend the highest load rating, expensive yet will offer a little peace of mind.
What an awesome plan! I've been enjoying your adventures for a while now, and I'm diggin the change in dynamics. You have a wonderful family, every one of you and your folks. I look forward to seeing what your future brings, and await the next episode with excitement for you! 🙂
FREE ADVICE. Don't leave the awning out while you are away doing errands or a day trip no matter how nice the weather is when you leave. We had a fifth-wheel with a nice electric awning like yours and did what i'm telling you not to. A storm passed through the area while we were gone and the awning became a mangled mess that had to be replaced. Learn from us. Congrats on new RV lifestyle. Have fun
Pretty much any slight breeze puts the awning at risk of failure. It’s possibly the most useless piece of equipment. A picnic table umbrella is sturdier.
As a sailor, I loved your sailing content. But I too love the way you tell stories of where your adventures took you. As a proud American I too think our land is so diverse, and telling us about places we may not have been will be enjoyable. I will be sticking around to enjoy your adventures. And if you ever get to NC again and need a bit of water let me know. My boat is in an area you are very familiar with on the Neuse River. All the best!
I was watching for the sailing content so I guess this is my goodbye. Thank you for sharing your sailing adventures with us all! Good luck and cheers to your new future!
If you’re going to live in the states, move to a state that has your family in it. Otherwise you won’t see family as much as you’d like. This will become especially apparent as your kids start participating in sports and activities and family will want to be there to see it.
I don’t even know any thing about vans… but my first thought was that looked way to front heavy.. am i wrong? Not sure what the hitch thing does so hopefully that fixes it.
@@jaysonharvey1678the weight of the trailer on the hitch is usually the limiting factor, not the total trailer weight. They installed a weight distribution hitch, which should fix/help the truck sagging under the weight
The salesperson would have informed Jordan about the weight distribution hitch and would have offered to have their tech install it for a fee. Jordan purchased the hitch but decided to install it himself on camera. It’s a simple set up and took all of 5 seconds of the video. The trailer angle looked much better after the install. Now… about those backing skills… I’m sure he’s not had any formal truck driving training, so Jordan, take yourself to a vacant parking lot, sometime, and practice parking that thing over and over for an hour or two. You’ll get used to how it moves.
I would move there to Florida where both sets of grandparents are. I know yall said you wanted to be around family and really that is the only way your kids will truly be able to enjoy the benefits of their grandparents. As they get into any sports, grandparents will be able to enjoy watching them. Anyways, just my thoughts as grandparents. 😂 we will still enjoy watching yall in whatever you do.
Create a home base in Florida where both grandparents live. Then travel the US after the birth. Hopefully you were able to travel to avoid hurricane season.Tire monitors for truck and trailer is a must. Avoid spending money on the RV until you know what you need and you have lived in it a while.
Just found your channel today and am a few videos in, you guys are soo amazing, funny, inspiring. Pivoting from the boat to the camper was just perfect. Just wanted to give you a thanks for the content and inspiration, it really has effected me in a wonderful way. Wish you both and family the best ❤.
guys, I trully wish you all the best in next part of your adventure. I've been a subscriber since early Atticus I days, and now I am feeling a big nostalgic. I will not be following anymore as land life "adventures" I can live directly, I don't need YT for that. But I am sure there will be tons of subscribers interested in the RV life and "buy some land, settle down" videos. While you seem to be back "into the fold", you were able to achieve your wonderlust sea nomads dreams that few can even start dreaming about, and you will always have those moemories. You also shared it with us which took a lot of work. Thank you for everything. While the next period will be different (and probably less interesting for YT, I am sure it will be great for you and your family. Good luck with everything else land side. Maybe see you sometimes somewhere in the future!
I must admit, I’ve been worried about your next move, however, those worries are much much less for me know knowing that the adventures still continue! Much happiness to you guys.😊
From a truck driver (real trucks, not pickups) / equipment operator, weight distribution hitches are a cheap band-aid on a stab wound. The CORRECT way is to correctly distribute the weight in your trailer. Currently you have too much weight forward of the axle centre line. I'd recommend you buy a tow ball scale, "hitch" the trailer to it and see how many pounds is on the towing tongue. As a rule, it should be 10% of the trailer. I'd estimate that that you should be at no more than 660lbs which your "truck". Just like you trim your boats buoyancy with ballast so it sits level in the water, you need to do the same thing in the trailer. I'd also recommend driving to a local weigh station or "scales". You want the total weight of car and trailer, the weight of the trailer only whilst hitched to your car and the weight of your car on its own. Then the fun part, maths. Total weight is your GCM (gross combined mass). The vehicle on its own is the GVM (gross vehicle mass) when not towing. The GCM minus the trailer weight hitched is your vehicles GVM whist towing. The towing GVM minus the not towing GVM is your ball weight. The trailer hitched weight plus the ball weight is the trailer aggregate trailer mass (ATM). To be legal, the GVM (whilst towing), the ATM and the GCM must all be less than the respective limits. To be safe, the ball weight should also be around 10% of the ATM. Also, please do a trailer towing driving course. Hooking up a small 6x4 (less than 2,2000lbs) trailer behind your car is easy and pretty safe to tow down the road, but once you put something bigger and heavier behind you things start to change quickly. Hopefully you have electric trailer brakes and you can reach the brake controller easily. Learn to adjust the controller for the current weight of your trailer, but also learn that if you start to get trailer sway that you should NOT hit the vehicle brakes. Only hit the trailer brakes, this will try to pull the trailer away from the car and settle it down. Then pull over and fix the weight distribution, most likely you are too nose heavy. Another tip to help learn about towing (and reversing) the trailer is to find an empty parking lot. Drive forwards and turn your steering wheel hard left and drive in a full circle. Look at the angle between the car and the trailer. If reversing, you will never be able to straighten the car / trailer from that angle. You will need to drive straight forward or turn the opposite way a little bit to reduce the angle. Do the same thing turning right, just to see how it looks from the other side. When hooking up the trailer, look in both side view mirrors, if you see the same amount of trailer in each mirror, you are perfectly centred and only need to worry about reversing back the right distance. Hope you have fun, stay legal and most importantly, stay safe.
So excited for this next chapter of yours! It’s neat to see you enjoy/(re)discover all of the conveniences us land lubbers, especially in the US, take for granted. Not gonna lie, it is a little weird to see you all in this new environment, knowing that this isn’t just a vacation from Atticus, but I’m happy for you because I know this is what your family needed. ❤
So happy for you guys. We have owned 3 Rvs 2 of which were 26ft travel trailers. We currently have a Rockwood Mini Lite 2516s and we love it.We have only traveled to 2 states Oregon and our home state of Washington but there is so much to see in our own state it could take a lifetime just to see our own state yet there are 50 more out there to explore. Now I'm done with helitac and once my wife gets healed more we are hitting the road.Hope your travels get you to Washington lots to see here..First thing I changed on our rig was the mattress. Rv std mattresses are terrible. We got a Tochta mattress..
Thank you for inspiring our family with two young kids to sail around the world … and we’ve started our project too! Our kids often request your show as the one with, “the baby from Malta!” :) You’ve provided so many moments of joy for us sailing from our own living room. Now this episode … was not the plot twist we expected. :) All the best.
Hope you decide to a find property very close to family so they can be a part of your life. The kids will love being around their grandparents ❤️ 💕 💗 ♥️.
Ok....good, Be safe Out there, RV life in USA is Not what it was this past years. In 2023 I left full time RV life after years and ended up in the Philippines Islands road tripping on a Maxima Z Trike with Camping equipment. Thank you for 10 yrs of great adventures.
I smiled and cried so much watching this video! We binge watched your journey from the beginning and fell in love with you guys! I’m so excited about your new journey! You being back home and loving the blessings in the USA makes me appreciate our country even more. We are so blessed! I’m hope to learn about some exciting places to travel to from you guys as we are planning trips in our retirement. Love you and may God bless your new journey❤️
I'll try to follow you...but I'm not sure I'll do it with the same enthusiasm I had in following your sailing adventures. Love you guys, I loved all the episodes, loved your family growing, Isabella's smiles...but I must admit, I'm a bit sad. 😢 Definitely not the same. Good luck guys!
Man that sucks that yaw were starting a new life just as a hurricane came hope all is ok and your dads house didnt flood looks like he is right on the watet i lived in bradenton for a short time nice area
You have tremendous courage and integrity in doing right by giving your family a home. Adventure will still be there when the kids are older, as will the ocean and wind. Other sailors have different situations, and it's counter-productive to compare yourself. Only you can decide what's best for your family, and I'm convinced you're going to make an adventure out of your next chapter.
I'm happy it's nervous for y'all. RV industry makes some horrible units. For towing, I was considered a diesel or a large V8 like a 7.3 or 6.8 from Ford. Definitely stay on top of the leaks cuz they will happen as soon as you pull out the dealership. Campers are stitched and glued together with particle board so quicker you can stay on top of them the less chance for rot
Great to have your own home to settle into for as long as you need it, and then use it for adventures thereafter. As for Oso he's asking 'where's the cockpit, when do I get to go ashore?'. You guys really have hit the ground running. It sounds a bit like the change which Sailing Soulianis made, although they have cut back on making TH-cam videos from a much lower level, in favour of some remote work and property income streams. I am grateful for being able to live and raise family in a beautiful rural area with good schools and to contribute to community, yet close to a small town and a small city a little further away. A healthy, supportive, well socialised childhood is such a vital responsibility of parents. Hope you find a spot where you can continue to live well.
Such a talented story teller. Love the truth and honesty of it all.... and am looking forward to Project Atticus. Family is everything and seasons come and go in life. Keep yourselves in a space to have as many options open as possible before narrowing down. LIFE IS GOOD
Super excited for this new phase of your life 🎉❤ I’ll be praying you find the perfect land where you can raise your beautiful family and ill be here weekly enjoying every episode. 🥰
Michigan is a beautiful state. You would have access to the great lakes. You never know if you get that boating itch again, and the great lakes is amazing.
I have worked for 7 seasons at Michigan State Parks, and I really appreciate your evaluation of America's State Parks. Continue to enjoy the great variety offered by America's beautiful state parks. God bless your family.
Hi guys, I think it’s going to be hard for you to say goodbye to the ocean and all the adventures but I think it’s going to be wonderful for the family to see the grandkids and watch them grow up. I have a grandson and when you sick I can’t see you, I missing him so much , anyway, will see how your video channel goes and hopefully we can continue watching it but it’s going to be a lot different format Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 we are on the big island 🏝️
I have to say this new direction surprised me! I hadn't even considered this direction, it's very exciting. Thank you for another tremendous video. As others have said, I hope you and your families weren't affected too badly by Helena.
Even going from Florida to Georgia you are still in the "Bitey, Stingie, Crawlie, Snake & bug infested area.......... Bug spray is a must... Driving thru rain is a new thingie for you and I highly recommend "Rain-X" for the windshield. Available at most auto parts stores. Used it for decades and it super helps while driving. CAUTION: DO NOT PUT IT ON THE PLASTIC HEADLIGHT COVERS......... just sayin' ... enjoy p.s.- East Tennessee has 4 seasons, no huge earth quakes, lozza things to do and explore, NO STATE INCOME TAX , World Class Entertainment available locally or just a few hours away & not a high cost of living area ............ Need I say more............. GO VOLS.....................
Great to see the new adventures, Desire you’re awesome I can’t imagine how hard it is packing up a boat, flying, moving into your new trailer, all while pregnant and in the heat. Amazing ❤
Congratulations on the shift in your lifestyle!! We've been watching you for years and understand change does happen. We live full time in our rig and can say there are a lot of pros and cons. But it is an adventure and you never know what to expect at each destination. We will continue to follow you and maybe will bump into your awesome family on the road. Safe Travels.
Boy, that was quick! I’m sure it wasn’t for you. It seems you just sailing last week. However, I figured when you had your first child this would come. Good luck on your new adventures.
I am glad to see you are willing to make major life style changes for the good of your growing family. The GM 5.3 litre engine has had a lot of problems. GM stopped making it after law suits. Do your research and know what to watch for to avoid road side problems. Never exceed 5000 mile oil changes. Towing a trailer adds a lot of strain on motor and drive train. Trailer life is a different thing but as with boat life has its own community of helpful neighbors. Use them wisely. Happy trails.
Met you last week at a campground in another state. We were in the motorhome straight across from you. We sold our 3000 sq ft home in 2018 and moved into our 300 sq ft Tiffin and have been living in it full time. It was great talking to you and then finding out you are a you tube creator, have been catching up on your videos. Good luck and safe travels.
So sad that you guys won't be sailing anymore! I still remember first watching your videos during the pandemic. I may have to re-watch for nostalgia purposes. I hope this new journey is just as fun and exciting!
yeah, I'm probably out till you guys find land to fix up. The whole RV life isn't really what I'm interested in. I wish you all the luck in the world. Thank you for the adventures!
I am glad you are handy, Jordan. RV life is great, but the repair adventures are not. Hopefully, you can reinvest in some good tools. We love RVing and have a Class A Thor Toy Hauler with a garage for gear. However, I call it my "Tool" Hauler because I don’t go anywhere without my tools. The list of issues I have repaired is amazingly long. On travel trailers, stock tires are usually crap. Replace them early. Find out what wheel bearings it takes and buy spares. Some manufacturers/assemblers take short cuts and do not lube the slide points on the brake shoes, so in a 6 month's or a year, if they start locking up and/or not releasing properly, they probably need cleaned and properly greased. Dealers will blame it on the brake controller. Warranties are fairly worthless, because when something breaks, there is usually no one available to fix it timely under warranty anyway. RVs are obviously not good in weather extremes, so you'll need to migrate accordingly, but all part of the adventure of finding your place to settle down. Several people mentioned Michigan, which would be great if you chose to sail again. However, it would be too cold for the travel trailer in the winter. Colorado is amazing, and you can be in the dessert or mountain snow in a couple hours. It is expensive, though. I wish you guys all the best in your new adventure. Please ignore the TH-cam troll trash comments, which never cease to amaze me.
Hat off to you ! Unbelievable how you literally from one episode to the next managed to change subject completely and still make interesting content almost before hitting US ground ! 👌 You are great storytellers and that works anywhere, I, for one, shall definitely keep following you, good luck to you ! 😉
Hey Guys…Consider settling in Crossville TN. It’s on the Cumberland Plateau (Elevation 1800’) East TN. 1) No state income tax, 2) cost of living is 14% below national average, 3) I own a Homestead property with 17.58 acres 4) You are welcome to visit, I have plenty of space for parking your travel trailer 5) I’m a native Floridian and love it here, People are extremely friendly. 7) I could go on & on…
I was going to suggest TN too. I live in Collierville but I know Northern and Eastern TN have some beautiful areas that are very affordable. I am itching to visit Fall Creek Falls.
I suspect that others will tell you as the dealer should, that you need weight distribution anti sway bars on it if you plan to go in mountains or windy areas like out west. (OK, you fixed that IF you did the measurements by the book, as I messed up by taking shortcuts the first time. Also, raising the hitch with the jack while connected makes the bars much easier to put on.) Our current camper is a 2019, but one thing I want to mention; that slide sticks out too far if you plan to keep it more than a year or two. The weight is so much that far out, that unless they have found a miracle fix, it will wear out or get stress cracks or both. I had two that size and it is no fun to be camping out in the desert in a hundred degrees and the slice will not retract! You are used to fixing boats, so it might not bother you... The first priority on the one we have now is having a two foot slide, enough to easily move around but not sticking out so far to have issues. We quit using the slide on the last one unless camping close to home but it was 32' long with a much wider slide and it was a 2004 model, so again, they might have found a fix by now, but they told us that before too... (Walkie talkies are a cheap investment when no cell service in remote or mountain areas.) I have a covered bed and generator also for remote areas.
Nice trailer guys. Looks a lot like our RockWood Mini. I hope you sleep ok with the Murphy bed. The mattresses tend to be very light weigh in order to fold up and sometime do not offer good support. We put sleeping pads on top of ours to help. 👍 Good luck on the new adventure. Now the million-dollar question... is the trailer going to be Atticus III? 😊
Love the new transitional life! Number one, Desiree appears happy and Isa will be spending more time with family! Can’t wait for the future videos! Thank you Jordan and Desiree for all you do!
Welcome to the neighborhood, hope Helene was kind to you. They say another one might be here next week. Wow, you're off from my newer neighborhood to one of my old neighborhoods. Enjoy.
My wife of 52 years says life with me is never boring. We built and live in a log home in the Central Oregon Cascades named "Snowshoe Inn". Also about 12 years ago we acquired a 32 foot travel trailer and mid duty flatbed truck. Out west there is so much wild country to explore and we have loved it. Now retired we travel 5 night and then go home for 9 nights. Life is good. About 18 months ago we acquired an off road travel trailer and ram power wagon. Now we can really reach out to more remote areas. With 60gallons water 1200 watts solar and 1080 amp lithium batteries we can stay off grid for much longer. It will be interesting to see how your life changes.
I don't know about them in Maine. It's cold in the winter, you couldn't live that camper in the winter months. They tried Maine on Atticus II and found the water cold and full of lobster pots, making the sailing difficult. We need boat yards and craftsmen in our Marine industry. Unfortunately, getting workers is an issue. Getting health care outside of greater Portland and York county can be a struggle or m8nimally a drive to Portland. If the goal was to be near family, you should settle near family. It's a great state, and it does have all the adventure and beautiful nature. Good luck and well wishes finding your home. If you're not in Florida or very near by for family, perhaps the Pacific Northwest or Southwest or Colorado or Wyoming or Idaho. Good luck to you
You guys know, lots of us stay at homes, love your vlog. But have either of you ever tuned in to other folks vlogs? Just a suggestion, Meg August has a great start on a 3 acre homestead project. Yes its Canada, but so what, that's not what i mean. Thing is, there are cabin building. Ten acre farms, gardening, tree felling, well drilling, timber milling, machine repairing, welding, hunting fishing, endless helpful doings. And yes, there are so many beautiful places in the back country from main, to Georgia, Arkansas to Idaho, and even in New Mexico. So, looking forward to the journey. Oh, and a question, did you ship your tools, or leave them on the boat for the new owner?
Wow! I'm exhausted after having watched all of that. Gonna be a fun ride, happy to be aboard. Glad everybody is safe and happy......... grandma seems to be the happiest of all.
I'm totally in with this plan. Love u guys whether it's by land or sea. Traveling around with the trailer will be fun & hoping you settle close to the grandparents which I enjoy the interaction with Isabella and will also with the new baby. See u next week!!❤ Desiree you look so relaxed off the boat & Jordan already tweeking things cracks me up.😊
Living in Florida comes with things that you may not be familiar with. 1. Alligators are in every pond, river, and lakes. 2. Alligators can run on the ground at about 20 mph and swim in the water at about the same speed. Never walk your dog or even carry your dog along any waterway, pond, or lake. To a gator, you are walking or carrying a the gator’s next meal. 3. Florida has Coral Snakes, Cotton Mouths, Rattle snakes, among others. Watch where you are walking. Never walk barefoot in grass or weeds. 4. Florida also has wild pigs, panthers, bears, and preying birds. All consider dogs and small kids as their next meal. If you are hiking or paddle boarding. Keep a sharp lookout on the ground and in the air. It is always best to have walking sticks that you can use as walking assistance as well as personal protection. Personally, both my wife and I have CCW permits and we both carry when nature and even when we travel. Gangs and illegal drug sales are all over the state. Keep a sharp lookout and know your surroundings. It is possible to enjoy your life’s in Florida. Just be aware of your surroundings. It is a truly beautiful place. Remember, darkness is the normal time for wildlife searches for food.
I'm so happy for both of you.. with everything you have accomplished in the past 10/12 years you both deserve to settle down and find a beautiful home to build family memories in. Do either of you ever look back at your videos? You have accomplished so much.. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Looking forward to your next adventure
Excellent! My wife, dog and I took five years in a similar RV to explore the US (while interviewing authors and searching for a new home). Now settled in a natural Eden in Oregon. If you get here know you have friends and stories. Yea Adventure!
disposable gloves!! some people (like me) give a short burst of gray water to see if there are any leaks, then black water followed by the remaining gray water:-)
IMHO, I’d “cross” the trailer chains, level the trailer when loaded with water, fuel, etc and put pressure gauges on the tires. We traveled from Ontario to Key West with trailers and RVs. Thx for bringing us along. 😊😊😊 John Ken
What a great solution to an interim home! Most people would sign a lease and hunker down but you can still hop out to the open road. And with your sailing skills, you can still certainly grab a charter anytime, anywhere the urge strikes. Favorite line in the vid? " I love projects that take less than 30 seconds".
Hey Buds. Been watching you since almost your beginning. God you scared me when you drove off the lot with that trailer sagging way to low. Relieved when you got the WDH. As a trailer owner and an avid TH-cam watcher. Is the 1500 truck enough for that big trailer? Payload? Please go to a CAT station and weigh all that out!! Oh and I pull the grey first just for a second. Confirm no leaks, then close and then pull the black. Rinse black, and leave some water in it. Then pull grey and let it empty. Trust me you don’t want a poopsie!!
So happy for you both. I know the decision was hard but you have loyal watchers and will continue to be apart of your journey. Cheers to new adventures!!!!!
Truly amazing episode, we are all praying you'll find a nice spot to settle down. The change must be absolutely terrifying? We just went thru Hurricane Helena in Treasure Island, Fl outside Tampa. The house was totaled by our insurance company and now it's time for a rebuild.
After many years of following your adventures I say goodbye. Sailing is my thing of interest not driving around in the USA. All the best to you going forward.
Florida is nice to vacation but live nope not me I don't do snakes or gators becarefull watch Oso and the baby around bushes as Im sure you will I look forward to following your next journey I live in Bristol Va /Bristol Tennessee in-between the both so cool maybe if you guys come through Ill run into run but if you visit Tennessee you got to go to Gatlinburg / Pigeon forge you may find you want to settle there it's absolutely breathtaking the mountains but it will be interesting to see where you choose
Welcome to the RV life. We’ve been following you all since Mexico, and love your adventures. We have been full time rvers for 3 years now and are also looking for a home base, while still wanting to travel. All the best.
Great advise!!!
Very wise, tires are so important to the safety of the vehicles. Pressure variations tell the story!
Ditto
Yes!
Make a home close to family so they can be involved with your life. Moving away from family once again might not be the best
Great move guys!! a small bit of advice from someone who has owned 6 RV's in my lifetime. Don't go off spending a lot of money fitting that rig out until you've spent a little time in it. You may want to change into something different after you settle into the RV lifestyle.
Awesome advise ! !
You took the words out of my mouth.
@iiniitiial most people don't.
So true!
You will soon find out just how poorly travel trailers are built compared to the excellence of your boat(s) or any boat. I hope you will not be disappointed with the shortcomings of your new home and it provides you with the interim housing you expected from it.
Wow. A troll. What a surprise. These a-holes are everywhere now.@@iiniitiial
You should rent a trailer for a week before buying one. They are not comfortable for extended periods of time and not durable for everyday use.
Wonder how they'll pay for medical insurance in the US?
I am sure someone may have already mentioned this or you figured it out. Change the hitch height. Trailer should be level while towing. Front down means front axle/tires will take brunt of load hence, they will heat up quicker. Everything in time. If plans are to tow a huge amount, recommend the highest load rating, expensive yet will offer a little peace of mind.
The RV crowd loves giving advice. 😂😂
@@jbl7092 And how about apparently none of them bothered to watch the whole video. People are very hard to love sometimes.
What an awesome plan! I've been enjoying your adventures for a while now, and I'm diggin the change in dynamics. You have a wonderful family, every one of you and your folks. I look forward to seeing what your future brings, and await the next episode with excitement for you! 🙂
Hope you made it through the hurricane Helena!❤️❤️
Wonder if there parents in nokomis are alright
I was also thinking that...

Have fun
Shoulda checked the weather

Good advice, I've seen many RVs with broken awnings. :(
Especially in FL. We had such storm at the same state park ghey stayed. Many awnings destroyed. Good advise.
Except for book banning in schools, questionable future of women’s freedoms and health, catastrophic hurricanes, with no available home insurance, …..
@@sanyaomerovic1659yes cause banning explicit sex books in school is somehow bad.
We love your show and have followed you since the beginning. With this new life shift, find ways to keep sailing alongside all your adventures.
Dealership should have never let that rig leave with nose down like that..
First thing we said! Dangerous AF. Rig needs to be level!
They didn't go far, and it was in a dip. If you saw it later sitting on the driveway, it was level even before he added the load leveling sway bars.
Your successfully transitioning your channel
Create a home base in Florida where both grandparents live. Then travel the US after the birth. Hopefully you were able to travel to avoid hurricane season.Tire monitors for truck and trailer is a must. Avoid spending money on the RV until you know what you need and you have lived in it a while.
Something to be said about level towing and weight distribution hitches. Be safe.
Excellent advice.
thank you for this.. it will help me too..
Wishing you all the best in your new adventure. You’re such nice people. But my love is sailing and what that life is all about.
Ok....good, Be safe Out there, RV life in USA is Not what it was this past years. In 2023 I left full time RV life after years and ended up in the Philippines Islands road tripping on a Maxima Z Trike with Camping equipment. Thank you for 10 yrs of
great adventures.
Loving the outdoors? I've been all over, but for me, southern Oregon is my heartbeat of comfort outdoors.
Such a talented story teller. Love the truth and honesty of it all.... and am looking forward to Project Atticus. Family is everything and seasons come and go in life. Keep yourselves in a space to have as many options open as possible before narrowing down. LIFE IS GOOD
Awesome move. Great video thank you all.
Super excited for this new phase of your life 🎉❤ I’ll be praying you find the perfect land where you can raise your beautiful family and ill be here weekly enjoying every episode. 🥰

I thought your story was ending. I was so sad. I’m so glad it’s not!
We ❤ you guys!
And Oso too!
A tip ,if you don't angle your awing it will fill with water and break the supports . I learned that the hard way.
So sad to see Atticus go but OF COURSE you guys bought a camper home😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. New adventures…AWESOME!

Hey Guys…Consider settling in
Crossville TN. It’s on the Cumberland Plateau (Elevation 1800’) East TN.
1) No state income tax,
2) cost of living is 14% below national average,
3) I own a Homestead property with 17.58 acres
4) You are welcome to visit, I have plenty of space for parking your travel trailer
5) I’m a native Floridian and love it here, People are extremely friendly.
7) I could go on & on…
Hope you weathered Helene okay! Be safe!
Maine
Land is still reasonably inexpensive great hiking great sailing skiing in the winter and plenty of places to put your camper lol
Yes its Canada, but so what, that's
not what i mean.
Great Lakes...Northern Michigan, or UP... All that and sailing too!
Wow! I'm exhausted after having watched all of that. Gonna be a fun ride, happy to be aboard. Glad everybody is safe and happy......... grandma seems to be the happiest of all.
Hi from Tampa FL. Is your family in Nokomis FL ok after Helene?
I’m so excited to see the next chapter in your adventures!!! Your new home looks lovely 😊 (and nice and cool!!)
I'm totally in with this plan. Love u guys whether it's by land or sea. See u next week!!❤ Desiree you look so relaxed off the boat & Jordan already tweeking things cracks me up.😊
PS I feel Ozo isn't sure about the whole thing, maybe he needs a pup brother lol.😂
Remember,
darkness is the normal time for wildlife searches for food.
Just curious, if living in the USA was the priority, why not sail the boat back to the USA and live on it?
Exactly!! Poor choice on there part!!
He explained on previous video.
Hope this works out. I enjoyed your channel but I’ll be moving on. Thanks for all your great videos
I'm so happy for both of you.. with everything you have accomplished in the past 10/12 years you both deserve to settle down and find a beautiful home to build family memories in.

Excellent! My wife, dog and I took five years in a similar RV to explore the US (while interviewing authors and searching for a new home). Now settled in a natural Eden in Oregon. If you get here know you have friends and stories. Yea Adventure!

So happy for you all! A new wonderful chapter to your journey! Beautiful new home! Cheers 🥂!!! Can’t wait to see you adventure on land 😊🤗💕🙌🏻👍🏻
Gloves for the dump station!!!!!
disposable gloves!! some people (like me) give a short burst of gray water to see if there are any leaks, then black water followed by the remaining gray water:-)

@@curtnowell388 Me too - you really don't want the connector to pop off with black water!! gloves won't help you then!! yuck!!

I love the new adventure y’all are on and thank you for taking us along with you.
I had the same concern seems like a lot of trailer for a 1/2 ton. If you can’t go as fast as other traffic you are a hazard.
Thoroughly enjoyed your cruising documentaries but likely will be checking out. Wishing you best of luck and happiness.
