I love love love your over the top jackets! So much so that I am learning to bead and am going to attempt Vogue 7975 (using a lightweight denim before I dive into a lovely tweed). Please send luck, best wishes, and a ritual sacrifice -- I will need all the help I can get on this, I am sure.
I have taken some shirtdress patterns and altered the bottom to make it layered in coordinating fabrics and put piping or lace between the layers. They turned out gorgeous. I just take some tissue or thin paper and cut new pattern pieces and mark them appropriately, fold up the bottom of the original where the new pieces will be added, make sure I leave seam allowance and cut the new layers. I like the look of a more fitted shirtdress with the illusion of a dropped waist in one fabric and the coordinating bands of fabric on the bottom. I noticed I have 4 of those dress patterns you showed in my stash. 😂🤭❤ It’s always fun seeing patterns other people have.

Vogue 1738 is a dress, that's why it has shorter sleeves. I totally thought it was a coat too, but it's not.
I can't imagine wearing a coat as well over that. It is a pretty design.

Beading often looks a bit awkward until the whole design is finished.
