    Hi
This car came to me with an intermittent fault, sometimes the left turn signal would not work.
It only happened once, while I had the car, and I could not replicate the fault.
I went down the route to check what seems to be a common issue with these ones, and found some not looking good soldering points...
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem...

Good Find, never easy finding intermittent faults... Process of elimination... Don't think anyone else would have looked that closely at a relay... Well done...

    Hi Luis,
My 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee left blinker had stopped working completely. I followed your instructions and now the left blinker works as it should. Thank you for this outstanding level of troubleshooting, my 2 traces were also cracked, I soldered them as you stated. It looks like you save me about $43.00. 👍👍👍 GREAT VIDEO.
    Thank you very much

Pretty sure this is my issue on my 04 but I found out if your left signal stops hit your 4ways on and the left turn signal should come on. Just a temporary solution for people who find them self in traffic when it happens.

I had the same problem with my left turn signal. I assumed it was probably a broken wire. At the 7-minute Mark in the video I realized that my problem was most likely the relay unit. Luckily, I keep a spare Jeep in my backyard for parts. I swapped out the relays and it now works perfect.

Simple DIY job but that is why this video is very helpfull, because not many people are able to fix automatic transmission and in this video we can see that not every repair on this complicated system is difficult and expensive.

Had a few issues going on with my cherokee.
    1 - No left signal.
2 - No power doors, windows or locks from Driver Side.
3 - AC warm despite holding freon and no leaks.
4 - Alarm would beep, all the time, for no reason.
5 - Alarm would randomly go off while driving
Today I pulled the harness to the driver door. Ground Wire broke from opening and closing the door over time.
4 out of 5 problems gone. I'm gonna assume this is my signal issue. Thanks!

Hi.. nice fault finding video.intermitten is not easy .,best option I think is to desolder the cracked solder joint at the pin and recreat the fault then u can check the left is working or not.or even solder to wires to another point not near the crack and put a switch to open and close circuit between the contact points.keep up the good jobs Luis.

I had this same issue with a 2002 Dakota. It had a combination unit with relays inside for the turn signals/flasher. One of the relays had lost contact with the board. The combination unit was located below the steering column.

Every time I move the passenger or my seat I lose lights so yesterday I moved the passenger seat up to put a bike in the back and then lost my blinkers but still have the hazards. Any ideas...I also noticed before this the lights for the shifting panel hesitate to light up sometimes...any suggestions what to fix. Last month it was all break lights and running lights...also last week I was told passenger back up light was out...I just don’t think it’s that relay you fixed. The mechanic said a month ago it was the connections at the bulbs.

    • @artl5761
      @artl5761 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

it would be weird that that many connections at different bulbs all go haywire. I'm more interested in that you moved you seat and it caused problems. Check under your seat, on some vehicles there is hub with wires connecting to it. Make sure non are loose. IF any are loose you can replace the connector- or possibly use a ziptie to put them tight into place

I'm having this issue with my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I've found that sometimes turning on the hazards and letting them blink a couple times will trigger the turn signal to work, but not always. Another thing that sometimes works is firmly banging on the dash or the horn (horn doesn't work because it's after-market and blows the fuse the first time it's used...the bf), but neither of these works every time either. Does this still sound like it could be the same fix?

See now mines the passenger side headlight fell out of hood wire ripped and smashed the turn light bulb little orange bulb and turn blinker it spilt two wires in half and In term it cause the back tail lights to go out as well because I’m assuming that the passenger side turn signals run on same wire
