Cheers! As I said in the vid I know lots of people will be seasoned Algarve specialists, but hopefully there's some useful info in there for anyone who might not yet have been or is planning a trip!
Currently in the Algarve to get away from the storms in the UK. I have taken the clubs with me and played Pestana Alto. Tough course, tight fairways and small greens. It is in great condition and the sun is shining. This is my first trip to Portugal and I love it.
A while back Rory you asked me to let you know what Praia D’el Rey and West Cliffs are like. Well I can let you know that they are amazing. West Cliffs especially is quite frankly STUNNING!
@@markhudson373 Hey Mark. There are quite a few moving parts when it comes to organising a filming trip so unfortunately it's not as simple as picking and choosing where we film. Having said that we'd absolutely love to head to Lisbon for some filming. We actually stopped there on the way back from The Azores and ventured into town as we had something like a 9 hour layover. Great city and having heard great things about the golf courses from people like Dave here, it's pretty high up on my list!
Been quite a few places with you guys, still enjoy the Algarve. Played Victoria a week after the Portuguese Open . Stunning course but difficult isn’t he word. Keep the videos coming Rory
Looking good as usual Ray. Nice vlog, played at some of the courses you mentioned. Weather good enough to play in short sleeves in Feb, much better than here then!
I have to say you make great videos Rory. I enjoyed your challenge on the three tee's it just shows you how tough it is from the back tee and a bit easier from the forward tee. When the slope system comes to the UK you will have the choice to play off which ever tee you want but you will loose shots if you want to play from the forward tee's. I haven't played any golf in Portugal as yet and I live in Spain but will have to as the courses look great.
@@yourgolftravel Doing the Dom Pedro courses...playing it safe as its our 1st trip out and we have a wide range of ability. All thanks to your man Max Penn. Looking forward to it!
Best in the world for golf in 2020? I'd need to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to choose anywhere over Belek. Actual town centre is not great (in Belek), but the hotels and golf courses are amazing (as you know). Really want to try other places - would the Algarve top your list, Rory, or are there other European destinations that beat it?
I would argue it all hinges on what you're looking for away from the golf course Darren. Algarve / certain areas of Spain have great nightlife which as you've pointed out Turkey struggles with a bit. There's no getting away from the fact that Turkey does offer an exceptionally good product, but there are certainly options in Portugal, Spain and other places - I love me some golf in Northern France as an example - that are equally as good if you package up the right courses. Always happy to help on that front if you need it. 👍I'm really keen to head to Lisbon this year too for something I've not done before. Courses out there look banging and I enjoyed the city when I visited too.
Quality video Rory, I’m going to west algarve in April with the family, what courses do you recommend for myself and my son (13 yrs) that would be suitable for us? Cheers
Awesome that sounds like fun! The likes of Penina & Boavsita are great but my favourite would be Palmares. Great course that offers something a little different to others out in the Algarve. If you want more info here's a blog post I wrote years ago but there should be some relevant info in there! >> www.yourgolftravel.com/19th-hole/a-guide-to-golf-holidays-in-the-algarve/ Hope this helps.
What's your favourite venue on The Algarve?
Vilamoura
I am in Vilamoura for a month, 21 degrees most days with sun.
Play twilight golf for the best prices.
Pinal has an excellent driving range.
Not. Jealous. At. All. 🤥😂
Enjoyed this Rory 👍🏻👍🏻

Great to hear Craig!
Any plans to play a few more courses?
@@yourgolftravel I may try and get another 1 or 2 while I am here. Probably Silves and Gramacho.

Can you cover taking your own clubs vs hiring clubs when you get there??

Good value bruh I think playing all the tee spots is great way to finish the game if scores are level 👍, I play rock's or diamonds golf too 🙃 🤣 😵
Rocks or Diamonds...please explain?

What course in the Algarve has the best bang for your buck for a membership?
I might be sadistic Rory.
