I would love to see you do a southern day! Biscuits and gravy for breakfast, ribs or bbq with fried okra, collard greens, baked Mac and cheese, for dessert a blackberry cobbler
I love Josh's cookbook! I do the chicken noodle soup almost weekly, I cook the noodles in the soup while I'm removing the chicken, I add in all the stock at the beginning, then add in the chicken to warm through after the noodles are cooked. I found the flavour was a bit dull if adding the extra stock in at the end, it becomes diluted instead of infused with the herbs.
When I was a little girl my mom often made French Toast on Saturdays. When my children were growing up I did the same. It is a yummy way to use up bread that is past its prime.
As someone who’s worked at an ice cream parlour, the key to a good scoop is a hot spoon, just get a mug of hot water and dip the scoop in in between scoops and they will be perfect! Also wouldn’t recommend working in an ice cream shop as your hands, wrists KILL at the end of the day, and you often bang your knuckles & thumb when trying to scoop hard ice cream haha!
I love using almost stale bread to make french toast! As someone who lives alone and cooks for one, I can almost never finish a whole loaf of bread by myself. It’s a great way to reduce food waste for me!
store your bread in the freezer! then it will last for months and you wont have to worry about wasting as much if you can't use it up with French toast!
omg i was literally just reloading my youtube explore page for ages trying to find something to watch when i got this notification!!! amazing, thank you so much grace ily
I had French toast a lot as a kid, and I make it from time to time. I grew up in Belgium, the name in French is "Pain perdu" or "lost bread". It's traditionally made with bread which is going stale, as a way to use it up in a tasty way ! Similar to the way people used to make bread pudding (which I had never had until I went to live in the US). I personally like crepes more, but if my bread is getting hard... pain perdu ! :D
I’m looking forward to this because I CANNOT stand watching Joshua, but I think his recipes look good. I get to watch you instead, but still get his food! Hoorah!
grace we NEED you to make a cookbook! im not joking I would RUN to the bookshop! at this point its a need in my life! maby like your fav recipes or your TH-cam recipes? x
French toast gives me such happy memories. I was a volunteer in Nepal building schools after the earthquake in 2015. And on our site there were 18 of us. As part of our ration we would get eggs breads and oats. So we used to have eggy bread Wednesday where 2 people would get up early and prepare it on the fire for the whole group. Everyone loved it as it was such a treat!!
French Toast ftw!! :D Would love to see you recreate a chocolate bar into a dessert… double decker would be my choice - I’ve just discovered them and can’t believe how empty my life was without them until now!
Delightful sense of humour, Grace! Love your green sweat shirt, too. (My mom used to make her own hot fudge sauce and we'd have it with ice cream and bananas as a special treat. She was never one to buy store goods until she got into her 80s. Homemade everything. She also made her own caramel sauce. So good.)
I really felt that "if bananas were people I wouldn't like them" comment in my soul because it's so true cause even as fruit I don't like them so I cant imagine I would if they were people and bananas just do feel untrustworthy

I ask every year, but please do a video surrounding Ramadan… maybe trying a fast for a whole day followed by eating our traditional foods. Or just a video trying Ramadan themed foods (I can give you lots of recommendations!)
I don't think it's a good idea.. Ramadan is a religious event and it shouldn't be made gimmicky.. Its more respectful to let it be, especially as Grace is Christian (as am I) and I wouldn't do it out of respect for my Muslim friends so I don't think Grace would either tbh (for the same reason)
@@salomeydraws That's not true actually. That would be like saying others shouldn't wear a hijab because that's disrespecting the religion, but that's not the case at all. People learn more about other religions by participating in it. It's okay if they don't have the intention of doing it for allah. In fact encouraging people to fast is a form of da'wah (teaching others about religion). AND non-Muslims fast too. They do intermittent fasting these days for health purposes.
I love the idea of French toast, but in practice I don’t enjoy the soggy bread aspect. Does that stop me from making it and eating it in confusion? Nope. Just eating breakfast questioning my life choices.
I grew up eating french toast because that's what my mom liked, so that's what we at on Saturday mornings. I enjoy pancakes and french toast. Not really into waffles, and have NEVER ordered french toast in a restaurant, because it doesn't compare to my mom's.😊 According to Patrick Star, asking if mayonnaise is an instrument, is a legitimate question.😆
My grandma always used to make us French toast for breakfast when we went to stay. Awww lovely memories ❤️(we just had it plain though. Not loads of toppings)
you need to dip the scoop into hot water first! ALSO, you don't wanna working at an ice cream parlour. The ice cream is always too hard its a workout and STRESS to scoop. PLUS in summer the rush and angry customers is NOT a vibe. lol
"If bananas were people I don't think I would like them... Not to be rude or anything" is so funny because I KNOW you genuinely believe and think that, I love that hahahhahha
If you're doing youtube chef recipes, I'd request something from Sam the Cooking Guy and Chef Jean-Pierre. They both have very different vibes, both very much their own, and make food that always looks fantastic.
Feel the complete opposite. Why would someone ever order (American) pancakes or waffles if they can get french toast? Literally the star of all sweet breakfast for me. ☺️ Along with thin, regular pancakes ofc 🤤 (as is the norm in most of Europe, no?)
its funny how Josh says that french toast is one of those recipes that people only ever order at the restaurant because my family often made it at home. however, i do agree that it's not on the same level as pancakes and waffles. french toast isnt the girl that everyone says she is
This could be a fun new series - Days of recipes from chefs (all sorts - Instagram, youtube, actual life :)). Maybe Babbish next?

To this day, I still think of that OG Mayo jar smashing over your kitchen floor at least 3 times a week hahahaha
I think about this often too! I’ve loved watching Grace’s channel grow
Every time I see a jar of mayo that's the only thing I can think of

Grace, you have to try Jane's Patisserie's Chocolate orange cake. Had it for my birthday last Sunday and it's amazing!
Editing Grace is cracking me up 😂 always love your videos - thank you!
His crossiants are amazing - take ages and require a lot of patience but soooo worth it!! xx

You need parsnips in chicken noodle soup. Adds a whole new level of complexity to the flavor profile.
Have you ever done a chicken noodle soup with ginger? It's amazing
The secret to a nice ice cream bowl is to plunge your scooper into hot water before use! Love you!

This is my favorite video I absolutely love you and Joshua’s videos!🙊🤍

"Is mayonnaise and instrument?" Quote by Patrick Star on a Spongebob episode lol. Also a familiar random quote in my own household!!!
Great video. Where did u get what u are wearing when you made the French toast?
