- This was just a quick video showing you my problems and concerns with the Pac RP5 GM31 and the rearview camera wiring problems on a Cadillac Escalade EXT that I ran into. When using these harnesses, make sure that if you have any model with a back up camera system that you have an updated harness and not one still designed for navigation as the wiring colors for the purpose's that are labeled are now obsolete. |Mainly being the purple and white wire. The green can still be used for the parking break.

This one actually had ones for the Sub, Other than that. You would have to use the rear audio out's.
the link you provide for the Amazon its for a non amplified vehicle. I have a 2008 Tahoe z71 whit the Bose system. will. it work?

I have the same arness and everything works in my 2009 gmc sierra slt but my stock reverse wont work in my jvc double din .... how can connect my reverse?
Without the correct harness, you would need to wire it to your positive wire on your reverse light.
I have the same harness in my caddy. And my red accesory wire does not power up my radio sometime. Did you have the same problem? Looking for another 12 volt ignition source
You can use your 12v red radio wire to your car factory amp wire and have the car use the ignition signal for the remote power instead of getting a signal from the stereo. The other option is to turn the amp off and on in the drop down menu.
@@coloradosdigitaldistractio3161 thanks for the help. Ill look into it. I had my multimeter to check power source from the amp with no luck. Ill double check.
I put the rp5-gm31 with a kenwood double din and a license plate back up camera. I’ve tried to put it into reverse and it won’t pop up, but it’s in one of you go to the camera mode. Hot wired into the ACC to try it still the same
But will not recognize the reverse gear Input and idea? Purple white to purple white wire still doesn’t recognize it.
Sorry for the late response. I was about to stop actually. They told me the same thing when I called them. That doesn't work and may actually give you problems if you do try that. The best way for me was to just take it directly to the rear light. It can be done through the harness if you have the correct one.
If you're pac harness has a red/white wire and no pink wire or light green, then the reverse trigger is the green wire that is identical in color to the left rear speakers + input. Revision 2 of the harness changed the wire colors for speed sense, reverse, and parking brake output.
Where do you connect the cables for the camera?
Sorry, I was out of town. I connected the reverse wire in the stereo to the positive wire on the camera. That will the trigger the reverse in the stereo. If you have an aftermarket camera, use the positive wire on the av cable and use that for your wire.
Cool i was wondering why my backup camera wasnt working when put in reverse i thought my wires were wrong but on my 07 esv the wires look exactly like urs thanks for the vid👍

help my truck has a backup camera and a double din and under the seat i can see one AV cable and one connecter that says pac in it but don’t know where to plug those in because the camera finest work Please help
So are you saying the camera was working before but not not? If not what is the screen showing when you put the car in reverse?
@@coloradosdigitaldistractio3161 idk if it was working before whenever i put the reverse camera it just shows a blue screen At the moment i have the red av cable and the weird cable that says pac on it unconnected
@@ozxxz So I'm going to assume that you have an aftermarket radio. If your camera is factory, then the av cable for your camera should be behind your stereo. It "should be an actual av wire coming from your factory harness". If you have an aftermarket camera then we need to find your av cable to that camera. What car do you have and what is the model number of that Pac harness?
@@coloradosdigitaldistractio3161 i have an 06 silverado the camera came with the harness under the seat but with the stock radio i upgraded it to a blaupunkt double din and i tried to connect that AV cable but even when it was connected nothing happened the harness does has a camera wire that was connected but idk what to do.
