  • Yo,
This is my first video essay. This goes fairly deeply into Cognitive functions and Myers-briggs, but I hope this analysis translates if you are not as versed. While I like the personality type angle, I'm not married to it. I love the video essay format, that's what I'm here for. If you find this kind of analysis neat, let me know! If you prefer other kinds of analysis let me know too! I just want an excuse to geek out about various works of art.

This video was on of the best analysis I’ve ever watched, it’s really sad that it’s so underrated. Keep up the good work i hope you get the attention you deserve.

I appreciate your approach with cognitive functions but i strongly disagree with Faye and Jet’s. Faye is ESTP, Jet is ISTJ. You also have to consider how their “tertiary and inferior functions” work in conjunction to their dom and aux.
The example of Faye with “Te-dom” contradicts Te as a function. She is an Se-dom, “we just shoot and see who hightails it out of there” - that is not how a Te-dom approaches situations. This is Se (she reacts to her immediate present situations), she does not live a “familiar” lifestyle. There is constant inconsistency in her patterns and she is a survivor above all. Her ability to size up situations in the immediate moment is Ti. “Fe tertiary” can manifest as deception at times, and her inferior Ni is clear in that she never ponders her future , or plans nor learns / reflects on past mistakes.
A lot of the scenes shared are towards the end after some development, and she becomes more vulnerable. However, this was not how she is written as a character from the start (it takes the char development and having the sense of found family) to trigger these feelings of nostalgia.

To me they are like the tough version of the Seinfeld crew. I think the reason I say that is because although they like each other they are sort of selfish.
