Thanks for watching! We have a friend of the channel who is also from Mauritius and he regularly shares recipes with us. We attempted the Cari Bari and it was so good!
Yes in Durban that's how it used to be. You could walk down the road around 3 o clock and smell all the different meals being prepared for the evening...
Thank you soooo much for your cool patience and calm approach. You have taught us thru your experience and encouragement that cooking is no longer a mammoth task. Thank you mam. ❤❤
Sending you warm hugs from Durban. That looks absoloutely divine. I made veg biriyani yest but yours look even more delicious especially when it's prepared outdoor..I am sure your clients was so satisfied..your cooking skills are excellent..keep up the good work dear Mum..Thanks Pranesh for being the taste master and so patient with mum to shoot these videos and upload it for us viewers to enjoy!😍😍😛😛
We usually work with 3-4 adults per 1 cup rice (250ml). Each 1kg of rice is approx. 4 cups or about 12-16 people. My suggestion is therefore to use 4kg rice, which then comfortably feeds 50-60 people. Brand of rice is your choice. We use Tastic or Spekko if we using long grain rice. If we use basmati rice I would add 2 or 3 cups additional. Again basmati will depend on what brand you get at your stores.
We tried your recipe Aunty Jee we know must have been delicious only we had to cook on the stove and thank you Pranesh for helping mum may url both be blessed stay safe as we learnt a new variant is around 🙏
Hi yes you can definitely do that. Here are the links to how I did it: Chicken Biryani - th-cam.com/video/Ub153iNNZD4/w-d-xo.html Chicken curry (but cornish): th-cam.com/video/JoEYIk-2Y3E/w-d-xo.html For soft chicken on the outside fire you can braise the potatoes with the chicken as soft chicken cooks quicker.
@@GaithreeDeviLuckan Thank you aunty. Yes it cooks so fast. Great idea . I like roasted potatoes in breyani I can still do as you mentioned by when I put in the rice and let it all just like simmer away 😋.
Hello Sweet Mama! Vegetable biryani contains low amount of saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. It is a good source of dietary fiber and manganese too. It is prepared using various kinds of fresh vegetables like carrot; French beans, cauliflower, green peas, corn, mushrooms and potatoes. So it is a healthy diet. I pity your neighbors who will only enjoy that pleasant biryani smell! lol .Even though I love fish and chicken briyani my favourite is vegetable briyani especially the one that is serve in Indo Mauritius wedding which is loaded with ghee. Also vegetable briyani tend to become more tasty the next day you just heat and have it with a tomatoe salsa pickled birdeye chillies and mango achar! Pranesh fire is pro as you are South-african I guess braai prep is in your DNA! Lol. Biryani is nothing but, just a state of happiness .Have a nice Sunday and enjoy!
Hahaha you are so correct Chota - biryani equals happiness! And I also agree, of you have some biryani left over it will definitely taste better the next day!
This was so good to watch, can I make breyani using this same method? Is gadra, beens and breyani dull green lentils thanks so much for sharing and hope you reply.
Thank you Ma. The breyani looks absolutely delicious....wish I was eating some now. Can I please ask what is the reason for adding sour milk instead of tomatoes. Is it s personal preference or is it more tastier. Thank you
It is a personal preference that we have developed over time. They both are acting to add acidic element to the biryani. Not sure about the taste but maybe I will try both and do a comparison with Pranesh soon.
Hi Aunty, I enjoy your videos, but one thing I don't enjoy is that your sleeves are always down when cooking and it touches the ingredients and the food which doesn't look hygienically clean.
thank you Ma, looks delicious
You are most welcome!

What is Gadra? Please explain. Thank you.
Gadra is also known as Barlotti beans. When they are dried they are red speckled beans. They are easy to grow in the garden and we use them fresh.
Delicious 😋. Please advise can one make soft chicken curry or breyani on outside fire in a similar manner

Absolutely love your videos aunty❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad!
They don't use biryani lentils in any biryanies in India.
Yes biryani is cooked much different in India. More cloves and pepper, using saffron as well.
Question: Can one add mint to veg breyani?
Yes we normally do at the very end. It does however turn black due to the heat in the pot.
Looks delicious mum
Thank you 😋
Excellent cooking aunty Devi .wish that was my order
Ma can you please show us a recipe for soya breyani 🤤
