      I’m so appreciative of your compliment!!!! I hardly get compliments on the ambiance or color combinations so for you to notice means a lot! You have an eye for detail! Thank you for noticing that I do take time to create a space that is Zen! I’m a girlie girl too so I think about the scrubs, sheets, nail polish, vases, plants etc. Funny enough someone else noticed the ambiance in my Christmas ASMR video too and left a comment today. Great way to start the year! I appreciate you ❤️🤗🥳

Ammiro la sua passione e la sua conoscenza soprattutto della anatomia del corpo umano. Lavorando in ospedale non credo di aver conosciuto nessun con queste conoscenze. Hello creative cookie. I hope you are receiving (trading massages) since you have so much stress. So let’s break it down & see if you can figure out what’s causing it. Do you have good body mechanics when you give a massage. Dropping your shoulders & not looking down so much? Are you working too many massages in one day that it’s become an overload on your muscles? Do you work out & have proper body mechanics? I do have a few videos where I talk about how to work out trigger points by applying pressure for 8-12 seconds then repeating if necessary. I’m pretty sure I have a video on back massage. I can’t remember exactly because I’ve made over 100 videos. I know in this one I specifically show how to treat the upper trapezius & release some trigger points when I showed the myofascial release of upper Trapezius 13:25. I hope this helps you and remember to take the time to care of yourself & get massages!

      @@MassageTherapeutics915 Thank you very much for responding! My posture is not the best which might be adding to it , I also crack my back up to 5 times a day to relieve aches which could contribute . I am thinking of going to a massuse or chiropractor :)

    • @MassageTherapeutics915
      @MassageTherapeutics915  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m so glad you’ve figured out what might be causing it! Popping your back up to 5 times a day does not sound like a good thing. I think getting massages regularly & watching your body mechanics would really help you. Taking care of yourself is very important! You know average time of a massage therapist is only 7 years because they burn out & end up hurting their body. If you want to last longer than that in this industry you need to take care of yourself! ❤️🤗

    Great content!

    • @MassageTherapeutics915
      @MassageTherapeutics915  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that throughout the years I saw a trend of neck, shoulders, upper & lower back and forearm pain. These were common and they still are however what I do notice is that they are getting younger when they come in with these injuries. 30 years ago it was more people in their 40’s & 50’s with these issues. Now I see it clients that are in their late 20’s & 30’s! They are overloaded with work & stress! Hope this makes sense 🤗. Good question!

    • @MassageTherapeutics915

    I have not seen some of those techniques, so thank you so much! Occipital hold, to me, is when I can feel the energy flow between myself and the client.
    I have a question, Do you find that your clients often get very emotional or have visions? I have also had clients that start giggling a lot when I do an occipital hold.
    This will sound strange, probably, but I often have a vision or a phrase or a word comes to me when I get to a trigger point, especially if it is one of my adult children or I feel very strong energy with a client. My instructor said that was normal. She asked me to tell her after a lab session what I felt. When practicing in lab, other students said that they had an experience when they were my client.
    Do you know if that is actually normal?

    • @MassageTherapeutics915
      @MassageTherapeutics915  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It sounds like you are very intuitive. What modality of massage do you practice? Yes It is normal for some clients to have emotional release remember that muscle has memory. I have found that it is an individual thing. Some clients may never feel anything like that & some are sensitive to that. I think our specialty attracts the type of clients we have. I focus more on injuries so I attract that type of clients. There’s nothing wrong with being sensitive to a clients energy. I think that is wonderful! You’re probably an empathetic person too.

    • @Queen_of_Hearts-Sharnell
      @Queen_of_Hearts-Sharnell 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MassageTherapeutics915 good question. I have just become comfortable with saying that I am an empath and a healer. That really is not saying anything about myself, it is about something I love and don’t understand. I am glad I found a place where I am able to help. I soaked up every word I was taught, I had never heard such important information before.
      I am not sure what modality I would consider it, because it depends on the person entirely. I guess I would say that I would begin with Rolfing, if my client did not have a specific reason they came to me. Balance is HUGE. Unless I can be sure that I have someone coming in regularly, I can’t do that. I do deep tissue, something that I notice is that so many clients have so much tension in their neck and scapulas. If I let them leave without being able to get my whole hand under their scapula, I have done them a disservice. When I get a client that is used to just a Swedish massage, i secretly roll my eyes. There has to be something. I get that some people like that, but someone else can do that, my job is to heal something. I love working on the interspinales muscles, actually. I am a big fan of doing at least a lymphatic drain on anyone if I have 5 minutes. Greatest purchase I have ever made was to buy printable water bottle labels with my name and phone number on them, because hydrating after a lymphatic drain is so important.
      I am really sorry that I keep writing a book every time I comment. I just love what I do, I miss it so much. I will get back to it. Through moving from state to state and 6 times once I got to my home state, my massage table and my textbooks have been the things I will not let go of. I have seen how it heals. I am just glad I have been able to lend a hand in that. Or two.

      @@Queen_of_Hearts-Sharnell it sounds like you definitely need to get back in business. The world needs you specifically right now! So many people are so stressed out! You have what it takes & that’s the passion to help someone heal! We’re mere tools assisting in their healing. It’s a shame that you have moved around so much and not been able to set up again. I hope you do it soon. Do you need to acquire more hours in your state in order to practice again? I know all states have different hour requirements so make sure you find out. I love the idea of your labels on a water bottle! That’s a great way to advertise! We just give them the water bottles from Costco 😆. Best of wishes for you!

    As a client, I'm not a fan of the occipital hold because it's painful. Every therapist I've had, it feels like they're aggressively digging their fingers in. They always do a static hold, too.

    • @MassageTherapeutics915
      @MassageTherapeutics915  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s unfortunate that nobody has been able to listen to your feedback & lighten up the pressure! It shouldn’t hurt. If they’re hurting you they’re not making the massage about you & what you need. You probably need some sub occipital work. You need to remind the therapist that relaxation comes from the nervous system! If they’re hurting you that’s not too relaxing 😱🤗❤️

      As a massage therapist at the beginning of every session, I remind the client that massage should not hurt. I ask the client to communicate if an area is tender or painful so that I can decrease the pressure.

      This is a sensitive subject so I hope I can give you some insights. I recommend you read my book “Massage Basics for Massage Nerds”. I explain in detail how one should conduct oneself to be a professional. Setting up your business to have a professional experience. You do not allow personal conversations. If they start behaving out of line you inform them immediately that you will stop the massage if it continues. You’re never alone in the building late at night with a male client. You set business hours. You dress properly and professional. Remember you are in control and should not allow the client to take control of the conversation or massage. If they continue or are persistent you can report them. Specially if you work for a chain of massage establishments. If you are self employed you terminate services and don’t schedule them again. I hope this helps you.
