      Lara Tan no I don’t have a video specifically about that. You need to make sure they are cleared from their doctor. Once you have a dr. Ok you can work on them. There is many different types of cervical or lumbar issues everything from stenosis, herniated or slipped disk etc so my suggestion is to take some medical massage training or NMT. This will help you out as to how to work these areas. For the most part if the injuries are a few yrs old you can work the soft tissue without extreme stretching. I’m sorry this is so vague however there’s so much information it’s difficult to teach it in 1 video or 1 conversation. I hope this helps you.

    Your videos have been indispensable to me as a new therapist! I hear your voice in my head while giving massage, lol. Thank you for sharing your clarity, wisdom, expertise and humor. I was surprised to see Erica side-lying on the wedge; it doesn't seem comfortable and it puts her spine at an angle to her hips. I'm wondering if you would please elaborate on the benefit of choosing side-lying wedge support for upper body vs side-lying cervical support w a hugging pillow? Thank you so much

    • @MassageTherapeutics915
      @MassageTherapeutics915  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Vivian I truly appreciate your compliment! It makes me happy to know you feel comfortable to ask questions. The main reason for using the wedge was to keep her inclined in the supine position. It wasn’t uncomfortable on the sideline position because she wasn’t that big however you brought up a good point! That it compromised her spinal column. I could have taken it off & done exactly what you described just having her hug a pillow. I always go by how the client feel more comfortable so either way is correct. If you don’t have to work too deep & client is comfortable the wedge on sideline is ok. Thanks for the question ❤️🤗

    What a beautiful massage! I have to disagree, however with ONE point you made about not working around the medial and lateral malleolus. Although deep pressure would be contraindicated, stimulating these points assist mama's body during pregnancy. Massage is powerful, but it won't cause miscarriage in a healthy pregnancy!

      Nicolle Barrett I totally agree with you!!!! I just can’t say that. I’ve massaged so many pregnant women over the past 31yrs & it has never been an issue. I even worked on one that wanted me to do specific deep massage on the ankles because she was 10 days past her due date. It didn’t work😂. They induced her the following week. I hate to say this because I know I’m going to get criticized by someone out there however there’s a lot of paranoid people out there. They pick everything apart so I must be careful. Thank you for being brave to post this & disagreeing with me so professionally. I really appreciate that! Massage Therapeutics it's surprising to me that ANYONE would attack you with negative comments, but I guess it takes all kinds. Your work is so lovely, and I get hypnotized by your flow! Thank you for your kind response, and yes, I've had similar experiences with MT's who refuse to cover for me if a client of mine is pregnant. As you stated at the beginning, creating life is sacred, and one of the MOST important times to receive touch and body therapy. 28 years ago I actually had a male teacher tell me no woman should get massage while pregnant because , "It is too transformative"...🙄 I have had a lot of success bringing on delayed menses deeply working those ankle points, and on up the medial pressure points of the leg. Love your work!! Blessings💞

    • @MassageTherapeutics915
      @MassageTherapeutics915  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Every therapist may learn a different routine and way to start. I like to start at the head because most people have a lot of tension on the neck and shoulders. It helps to start relaxing them from the beginning. Another reason I start at the head is because I don’t like to touch the face after working on the feet!!! And I do turn the client on both sides if they are able to. It’s just a matter of what your preference is. Thanks for the comment

It’s your time & sometimes you just need to relax. Please don’t give up on finding a good therapist that can listen to what you would like that day! Best of luck to you & baby 👶

    • @cc5972
      @cc5972 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Roseanne Schmidt This is the reason that therapists need to have a thorough intake where they make sure to emphasize to the client that they not only WELCOME but WANT feedback from the client. Also what the pain scale is and to speak up if it is over the level they wish (or under). So many clients will not take it upon themselves to just speak out, we have to really encourage communication. Also watching facial expressions will give a sensitive therapist a clue as to the comfort of the client...

    • @MassageTherapeutics915

      Timothy Simmons this is a very good question. It is recommended that your client lay on her left side. However she can lay on her right side for a short period of time. I usually start with them on the left side & do as much work as possible then turn them on the right side to work their hip & low back for 10-15 min max. Glad you know your stuff!

      Congratulations on your pregnancy! Yes I know how difficult it is to have back problems and then add carrying a growing baby inside! Maybe you can get a relative just to rub your feet & a little on your back for now. Best thing is to get off your feet a couple of times a day and raise them. Best of wishes for you and the baby!

    Is it completely prohibited to massage before 12th month or there is only some limitition of some parts of the body.

      fazel ahmad it is recommended not to massage in the 1st trimester however with doctors permission you can. It depends on whether the client is high risk or first pregnancy however make sure they have a doctor release to receive a massage. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and mommies may be more sensitive so make sure you take clues from the client as to what feels good to them. They know where they feel the pressure. Just stay away from the ankles and wrists.

      Lol 😆 that’s what friends are for!!! He might do a really good job. The most important rule he needs to be aware of is to Not put heavy pressure on the arms or legs going down towards the feet or hands. Massage pressure is always towards the heart ♥️ (reason being that the veins in the limbs have little valves that can be damaged) other then that he can do whatever works for you. Enjoy 😊 and congratulations on your pregnancy! Creating life is the biggest miracle!!

    Hi, I am just wondering why you are applying pressure to the inner part of her legs? This is the area that I was taught not to massage because of possible blood clots.

    • @MassageTherapeutics915
      @MassageTherapeutics915  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sabrina Wong because she doesn’t have blood clots. You always do a medical history prior to the massage. You check for pain, redness, heat and swelling which are the symptoms of blood clots. Great care must be taken every time however not everyone has blood clots. I hope this answers your question 🙏
