Love the reaction! I'm Tou Moua btw. The reason I mentioned it being from Mana Khemia is because the original version of the song is one of the boss's theme in that game while this version was only part of the Gust music dlc in Atelier Meruru and wasn't actually played anywhere in the game. The game is a JRPG turn-based game and the boss is one of the teacher and wanted to kill the main character because she blamed him for the death of his father(her lover).
@@AtlasBenighted also thanks for talking about 80's metal. I never listened to them before but if it's similar to this then I will start checking them out!
There's a version of this song with lyrics you can find on TH-cam. The song itself is from Mana Khemia, an earlier game in roughly the same overarching series. The song is absolutely soul-crushing lyric-wise and changes the view of the song's slow bits.
Yes, I think it's called "Nefertiti - Like flower blossoms in the wind" or similar, and the singer is Yuuto Izumi, who also sang "Namenloses Licht" from Mana Khemia 2
Atelier OSTs are such a blast. One minute you get themes with flutes and such then BAM tunes like Neferititi say hi. Its the main franchise of GUST(remember Ar Tonelico?). The franchise is one where you play as alchemists who run Ateliers and receive payment from the townspeople for creating tools by harvesting materials like plants, monster parts, gems, ect. to create anything from bombs to gold. They always come in trilogies and are quite fun
I loved this so much. God bless that company Gust, Beacuse they know the power of metal. I have nothing but praise for their soundracks. If only more companies would have tried metal/rock music in their games. As usual, This was a great reaction.
For anyone who doesn't know, the Atelier games are Alchemy rpgs centered around item crafting that typically focus more on slice of life aspects in a fantasy setting rather than a big story about heroes saving the world in some form like your typical rpg story. There are still battles and a leveling system as with most rpgs, but item crafting is a primary mechanic you will interact with on a regular basis as opposed to something like kingdom hearts where its something you do in the end game for a platinum trophy. The Sister series Mana Khemia, which only has 2 games on ps2 is where this song is originally from and most Atelier gamea have this song as dlc. Mana Khemia does have a little more of a typical rpg story but is still very much a slice of life Alchemy game.
Hi, I'm the guy who suggested to you the vocal version of Nefertiti some time ago, I tapped here as soon as I saw the title :) I'm so excited Nefertiti came out! To give some context, the original music is from Mana Khemia, and plays during an important boss battle against an alchemist who holds a deep grudge against the protagonist and fights him wielding the power of a giant Mana (magic spirit) that controls gravity. What I love of this song is the power of the guitars, not to mention one of the solos sounds like "Egyptian metal" or something (in fact the song takes the name from a famous queen of ancient Egypt). The difference with the vocal version is besides the latter having lyrics it also is of a different key, I love it as much as the instrumental.
Great reaction, I follow the video games of the Gust company since the first Playstation and the soundtracks of their games always touch a very high level, the Mana Khemia saga (from which this song comes from) also has great compositions, I would recommend you listen to the theme "STIGMATA", it seems to me one of the best final boss themes I've heard, you have a new follower hehehe, greetings from Spain ✌️
Atelier music is fun. Their battle music often has a lot of metal influence. I recommend checking out any atelier music, but some like Slag Dance, Sky of Twilight, Namenloses Licht, Stigmata, and Astral Blader can be some fun ones to check out. I know I'm missing a ton of my fave boss themes, but the series has been going on forever so there is a lot to choose from.
Nefertiti is played during a boss fight against Ms. Isolde nearing the final act of Mana Khemia: Students of Al-Revis (or Student Alliance, for the Sony PSP). I don’t know where it’s played in Atelier Meruru, if it’s even played at all.
I tried Atelier once, I couldn't go further, so I never touched any of them again! And they call the Souls games hard.... Thank you for the Breakdown!!!!
Day 96 of requesting House of Sacred Remains from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Beautifully atmospheric track and one of my fave's from video games in general. It'd be awesome to hear what you think of it. It's the theme of a level set starting from a cathedral and ending in the crypts through lots of library areas, it's not a particularly significant or infamous level at all but I think the track really reflects the hallowed grounds housing sacred relics beautifully. The 4 minute upload from the Castlevania Sound Team is the one to listen to.
I still prefer the original Mana Khemia vesion, cause the Meruru version is a slight remake of this and any other songs from previous game Also, context for the song, only 1 boss in its original game has it, and god the situation and moments more than fit the boss with all the actions and revelations that it brought

M_Two, Thank you very much. This was a fantastic request.
Wow, really great suggestion. I've heard Gust has some good games but have yet to play any of their games this ost certainly sells the studio.

Yes, I remember
One wouldn't expect so much metal in an atelier series ost

From Atelier Shallie, The Beat Octopus is pretty good too. It's goofy and fun that ends up shredding at one point and you're like tf
Whoever recommend this ...great choice.

I agree, STIGMATA is a great composition, a powerful and dramatic rock ballad

Would love to hear your reaction of Ernst final battle - YS 6 by him!
Don't judge a book by its cover, the atelier series has some insanely great songs.

You wouldn't expect a game that looks so cutesy have metal OST. Atelier is the best at bamboozling people.
Please, react to Dearly Beloved from Kingdon Heart.
Wtf is the thumbnail 😭
It was too good
nefertiti is not from that game is from mana khemia so pls respect my fav game
