Since the video is 7 years ago. Never mind. Nonetheless, I am wondering how much the spring door release may have cost back in 2016? The most expensive is $14.14 in 2023.
Sir, I cannot Thank you enough for your help with this. My 97 Accord had the exact same problem first time happening really. I will put some sort spring tensionor on the side of the fuel door and hope next time it opens!
@Eddie Patrick did you find what you were looking for when you hacked her account? I'm saying my girl can do whatever she wants, we good , I do what I want and she does what she wants,,, and we both are happy,,,,,, I'm not really into invading her privacy just into when she gives me her privacy if you know what I mean.....but .....happiness to you is knowing your girls insta password ? Happiness to me is not caring about things that don't really matter ,,,,, oh and big anime titties ......lol that's devilish .....I really love the lord so I shouldn't have said that ....good luck with the password hack joint and what not ...thanks for the tip tho '
Thank God I found you and that you posted this Gem, I was Freaking out for awhile thinking that the cable was detached somewhere along the line, anyway's your Awesome....🎸💚
I recently got in a car accident and driving my mom's second car while mine gets fixed. The fuel door wouldn't open and I came across this video. Guess what? My mom's car is a 2000 camry. Thanks so much! I would have never thought of propping the latch open!
Thank you so much for posting this video! I was almost ready to get a hammer, and the largest flathead screwdriver I could find in my toolbox. That would have made for a more costly repair had it not been for your troubleshooting.
My question is how was that door originally made to pop open? What went wrpong? It should be possible to restore the springyness without adding a new part.
Thx.... quick question. Your car fuel door screws, the two that's attaching the door to the body, are the same as mine, and I'm am trying to remove/replace it. Is there a proper way to remove the fuel door? The screws aren't the normal types. Thanks again!
NIIK, I am not quite sure about how to do that. I see that those fasteners seem to be nothing but round circles with nothing to grab onto. I'm sorry I cannot help you with that
Please don't do this. Follow a different video: th-cam.com/video/OUwCx5m33HQ/w-d-xo.html No drill needed for this fix and no random garage door opener needed.
yeah I had same issue too lazy to do all that just drilled a hole stuck a screw in there plus washers so existing spring when fuel door thing closes it now has tension
The spring on the back of my garage door opening is aluminum, and aluminum is non-sparking. However, if you use a steel spring just dip it in some plasti-dip.
This guy....smh you just assume everyone has old garage door openers just laying around ?😕 Also...What type of asshole doesn't leave the new owners of the house the garage door openers? 🤔 Did they make you mad when you left? I mean who takes their garage door openers when they move!? You know the new owners might need to open the garage door once or twice ...🤔 Edit: thanks for the info
Good Job, but a spring not from the Stealership is about £7, I hate drilling holes as this means a point of vunerabillity for the dreaded rust. Man we dont have a darage let alone a extra garage door opener! Heck you have to park 300meters aways from your home in 70% of the houses are like this, and then the govt wants electric cars with charging ports outside the house! Of course our MPs live in Mansions with a massive gaden unlike us plebs. I can see why the Aussies and Kiwis call the citizens POMs. Prisoners of Mother England. The land the squire who had the first rights to rodger your wife.
You are awsome🙏 you helped me fix my car fuel lid without spending a single penny
Thank you I stuck some nail clipper in there and click the bottom and it worked
Wow how conventiant, mines the same!! Didn't even have to type what car, you are a hero, thanks for the video
Glad I was able to help you out!

You are welcome.
There should be an emergency pull cable located in EVERY trunk so you can get into the fuel door to get gas

Great Trick Utah State Dad. And great that you listen to KLove. We listen to them out here in NY on 95.5 and 96.7. God Bless You.
Awesome....KLOVE, keeping it positive. What part of NY you from? I lived a good portion of my time in Syracuse.
Thank God I found you and that you posted this Gem, I was Freaking out for awhile thinking that the cable was detached somewhere along the line, anyway's your Awesome....🎸💚

I had this problem and just followed your video and fixed it. Thank you sooooooo much!
Awesome.....glad the video was useful to you.

Simple yet SMART
Genius!!!!! Fixed my fuel door on my 2016 Mazda 6
Great and very neat job
I used a paper clip fashioned into a torsion spring and wrapped it over the hinge.
Thanks so much I was just at a gas station and this happened to me
It's a terrible feeling isn't it?? TH-cam is a godsend for these types of problems!
Just what I needed. Thanks a bunch!
WONDERFUL VIDEO
You just need to reposition (bend) the tab on the back of the door and it will spring open.
Thanks for posting! Works great.
Thank for the post, save me and my Prius a trip to the dealership.
Great idea thanks...but i applied strong double tape instead of drilling..
My question is how was that door originally made to pop open? What went wrpong? It should be possible to restore the springyness without adding a new part.
Works thanks
It work thanks
Great vid , 2018 Camry
Mine doesn't even release open. It Makes the noise, but it is still locked.
Great idea!
REALLY CLEVER.....THANK YOU....I HAVE THAT PROBLEM
Just wanted to thank you for the tip, I did something similar in my car, but i used superglue to get it to stay there.

@@craig84074 no prob! Online they said its rivets and it needs to be drilled out. Thanks for checking!
Haha I glued a chunk of styrofoam in there so it compresses when shut.
Great idea...that'll work
craig84074
Black foam from spare tire holder mold. White styrofoam + gas=☹️
I used the door opener to fix the door opener
Entertaining yet RPP
What about fuel doors that don’t have a release lever?
Please don't do this. Follow a different video: th-cam.com/video/OUwCx5m33HQ/w-d-xo.html No drill needed for this fix and no random garage door opener needed.
Salt lake city utah beautiful city lived up there for a year and a half
I lived in Utah for many years. Beautiful state.

Are you sure it is wise to use an electric drill, where the motor brushes inevitably produce sparks, so close to the gas tank?
yeah I had same issue too lazy to do all that just drilled a hole stuck a screw in there plus washers so existing spring when fuel door thing closes it now has tension
cool
You don't have to keep repeating the problem 20 times
🙏🙏🙏
Why not just replace the factor spring that was original to the door rather that jimmy rig it?
What if that spring created sparks when you push the door in with force to compress it?
The spring on the back of my garage door opening is aluminum, and aluminum is non-sparking. However, if you use a steel spring just dip it in some plasti-dip.
That's great, but what if the button in my Rx 350 is not releasing the door?
I'm not a technician so I really cannot troubleshoot any other issues associate with this
Nice job, BUT please, just pull the handle and see if it will pop open!
Seriously!
The video in the link has a better approach man th-cam.com/video/OUwCx5m33HQ/w-d-xo.html
All you have to do is fix a metal tab under the cover
cool....Thanks
