Looks like this is endemic to all Frontiers🤦 I was looking for a key lock for the door but this hack is way nicer looking. I might get a locking gas cap for security anyways as this open fuel door issue got me thinking. Thanks!
@@tjsgarage9650 One question as I been reading a lot lately on the Nissan forum about a cold start clacking rattle that lasts a few seconds.... I have a 2007 Frontier crew cab with 81,000 original miles and i''m the original owner.... Mine started this cold start noise about 4 years ago... Some mornings it starts up with a fainted clatter and some a bit louder... My auto mechanic says it could be the result of low oil pressure at start.... On the forum it occurs with other models of Nissan vehicles ranging from years a bit older than mine to the newer ones...Does yours do that cold start clatter sound?.
My auto shop I take it to for oil changes always uses synthetic-blend 5-30 Someone on the forum says to use Castrol synthetic and Nissan oil filter and claims their cold start clatter sounds went away...But others say it don't make a difference.... The Nissan dealership about 7 years ago changed the timing cover with a upgraded one from what came with mine from the factory used... But this cold start sound is annoying but I got somewhat used to it... Most say it doesn't harm the vehicle...
@@sting64az I would change the viscosity of your oil with a higher mileage vehicle. Sounds like a lubrication issue. Maybe a heavier blend... My vehicle does chatter but only for a few seconds. It takes a few seconds for the oil to circulate through the system. My chevy does it too.
Great idea, Nissan has become such a ripp off they actually insult my intelligence with their prices. I need a front crash sensor, it's priced from $125-200 since they have upgraded their Shitty front crash sensor that rust easily and cusses Airbag light error, they now claim you have to purchase a new plate cover/Bracket for the Front crash Sensor because the old one doesn't fit 🤔 Now they want to sell you the Bracket Separately and at almost $100 For a piece of metal that is folded in an L shape that has no kind of chip of technology in it. Holy Crap, what is wrong with Nissan and their prices. No wonder everyone is going after Market. Really Nissan? That cheap $1 plate should be included with the since if sensor needs it to attach to vehicle properly 🤔 #NissanRipoff

Absolutely genius! Same thing with my Xterra, thanks 🙏……..
Thank you I just did it it really work for me
Works for Nissan Xterra 2014 also.
Nice one!
Same problem on 2005 nissan frontier
great idea. my spring just broke. do you have the dimensions of those magnets
Eeeh..they're smaller than a dime ...got em at MENARDS ....like pill size or slightly larger.. door NEVER came.open again!!
Thanks!
What type of adhesive did you use?
Either 100% silocone or 2 part GORILLA EPOXY
Is there a reason you dont order a new spring ? They sell them on line from $1 to $15.
Terrible design...will just happen again ...not as secure as the magnet...
Where did you buy those magnets?...I have a 2007 Frontier same issue...Thanks..
Just bought them at Menards, pretty cheap
@@tjsgarage9650 Thanks, I just happen to find some of different sizes at Walmart...A few bucks and it worked great....Thanks for the repair tip....
