I’m a native Angeleno - born in Hollywood (Queen of Angels Hospital) and grew up in the West San Fernando Valley and I think it’s disgraceful what has happened to the MacArthur Park area. It’s become a haven for lost souls, strung out on who knows what drugs, who are basically zombies, wandering around aimlessly in a drug induced haze. I remember what Los Angeles was like when I was growing up in the 60’s and it was nothing like what it’s become today. It’s just plain shameful that this blight on Los Angeles exists and nobody can seem to do anything about it.
The problem is all those people doing drugs get government help for their addiction. If they can pass a clean test they should be no help no food stamps money no housing Only clean drug test people gets help.
As I watch this video, pictures float up in my mind of idyllic scenes with a well dressed man wearing a bowler hat and his wife with her long Edwardian era dress sweeping the path as they enjoyed a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll in this same park. Only then it was called Westlake park. The year would have been 1902. The area around the park was clustered with nice homes in what was then considered one of LA’s suburbs. Sometimes I think civilization, at least in this part of the world, peaked in about 1991. Never to return.
I used to work on 7th and Alvarado around 2003 even then it was bad and you would think you were in a third world country. Bodies would show up in the lake almost every day. I feel sorry for the good people trapped in that hell hole. Lots of mental illness and drug addiction is the cause.
The bad thing is even if you put them in a home they will steal do drugs and trash the house . Just because your homeless don't mean you have to trash the place . I'm homeless I know.
Looks like Tranq, or xylazine, a horse tranquilizer that addicts use that makes them lose control of their waist and tilt over, has moved from Kensington, PA, to LA. Sad.
@@SandraAlvarez-op1eg They hurt people continually. A beautiful young woman in a store, murdered by a homeless. An athlete hit in the head with a heavy bikelock that broke the bones in her nice face and an actor shot trying to save his car from being jacked and these examples merely scratch the surface of the rampant harm the homeless bring. Public health outbreaks, rancid hygiene and sanitary issues, blight, quality of life, overall risk, lower property values and increased insurance premiums due to continual theft and break ins. So. Respectfully, I think you're wrong. It is also abject and cold cruelty to leave them, or any human being in such filth and squalor.
They closed it and put fencing awhile back but they took it down they need a beautiful steel fencing with a entrance and security that would fix it but Genius at city council do not think
Well I guess as long as you're crazy ass selfish Governor thinks it's okay and normal then I guess it's okay and normal. I think it's absolutely disgusting what has happened to what was once Paradise. All because of greed. He learned well from his aunt😢
@@walkingtourseurope8526 Ok, third time lol: Stop the drugs of the narco state flowing over our borders, and there would be funds for rehab. Stop the wars and 750-900 US military bases overseas butting into other sovereign countries' business, and there would be money. Re-purpose all the empty office buildings and hire in-house, residential counselors to offer ongoing, supportive services and help keep these victims of the narco state, off the streets and spreading disease and famine.
You know I struggle with addiction but I don't do it every day or every week or even every month however I was at one time a chronic meth and crack addict but I would never did anything like these dudes in the streets this is madness
how is meth and crack any better than what people on the streets are using? being drugged up is being drugged up and addiction is still addiction please explain🤔
💔General MacArthur must be rolling in his grave seeing his name attached to this park of the zombies. What's surprising is that passers-by don't even look twice at the life-and-death, drug-induced crises these hopeless, mindless people are suffering. They need immediate interventions, arrests for open-air, illegal use of controlled substances, then 90-day detox in rehab facilities. ❤🩹
@walkingtourseurope8526 No one cares anymore about anybody or anything, because caring is futile and results in unbearable pain. I don't know where you get the stamina when your exposure of the human collapse draws little or no outrage. People have witnessed so much, they are desensitized to the atrocities and torture as clear as the nose on our faces. I'll be here till the lights go out, SL 💖💝

Yes it's the fentynal that's wasting them away to the point of no return here, 😕
Yup tranq is in almost every big city in the country! In some cases it’s more tranq than fentanyl!
Do you ever become concerned or scared while being in such close proximity to the zombies? So tragic.
Yes sometimes I just walked an ALLEY that was pretty bad so I hold my breath fingers crossed 🤞
Yes sometimes
@ great content. 😇
They are not going to hurt anyone there sick and can't see what's in front of them. I've never heard of a homeless person on drugs hurting anyone.

A lot are masking their pain. We need to get to the root cause of that pain and treat it with care after the detox
The lawn guy just mowing around them, could be a scene from a zombie movie. Whats happening ?
Shocking to see
Me and my uncle used to score there😊
