Yeah, man. Whatever you want. If you don't have enough slack, try removing one at a time until you like it. What buddy did here was went from one extreme to the other.
Well for longer life of your hub and keep it smooth I'd say every 6 months if you're a normal rider, sometimes you can feel it not working as smooth and you know it needs it. I've had riders never grease the coaster and they last a couple years..just depends on how you ride and how often you're willing to buy a new hub.
So any disadvantages to have less slack? I literally went over the handlebars yesterday trying to ride my new free coaster bike because I went to pedal hard and the pedals just spun and i went over the bars. So if mine came with more slack like almost a quarter turn i assume I have to buy washers for my free coaster type to lower the slack
Why would you want less slack? I bet you're one of those dudes that likes to run 1/16th of a crank worth of slack so you can cheat on trucks and use pedal pressure.
dude this guys voice was real smooth when he was sliding the coaster back and forth after he removes the spacers to not give it as much slack.
Thank you for the detailed explanation. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm trying to remove some of the slack out of my daughter's bike.
Thank you!

Good job dude at least now you know you don't have a future in mechanics.
Dang hilarious
@@AMM1998 🤣🤣
does it work with any free coaster
Many coaster are a lot similar to this, but obviously some are different, mostly profile Z coaster, Madera Gulf, and the Salt Trapeze.
Nearly every coaster out there have internals that are almost identical. Even if your coaster is a bit different, the principles are the same
