- You asked for this, here it is. Here's a look at the Devialet Mania from a distance of about 15meters from the mics, in a non acoustically treated large room, to see how well it can fill a room with sound. The results may or may not surprise you. BONUS: Since I have the B&O Beoplay A9, I thought I would turn it on to give somewhat of a sound comparison. Please Like and Subscribe if you enjoyed this!

That's insane!! I thought the first one was the A9. I can't believe that little ball can make that sound. I'm getting one in a couple weeks that's all there is to it

I think you should try changing the eq if you haven't, i like to lower the low's and increase the highs. It sounds sharper and cleaner; less muddy and brighter. But tbh, I think there's a limit for what mania can do, for being as small as it is plus for being a battery-operated, it's great in that category of speakers. A good bonus for mania is that at least it's 360 so to fill a room, everyone would place it in middle of the room as opposed to other speakers where you have to put it in the corner since they're mostly forward directional speakers
Thanks Bro!!! Was waiting for this one. I am dumbfounded with the way this little Battery powered Mania does hold itself against such a Huge " Wall Plug Powered" speaker in comparison. I think it is going to be the best selling product from Devialet. And I might add "The Finest" battery powered speaker(Power,Size,IP Rating,Performance,Connectivity especially with wifi, alexa,BT) and all this with superior sound. Its an All-in-One Package!!. Thanks bro! You’re 100% right! The Mania impressed me so much with its room filling capacity! This is coming from a 2kg battery powered, portable speaker that has all the best connectivity built into it! The A9 is a behemoth of a system that has 7 drivers and an 8inch bass woofer! It puts most speakers (even its size) to shame with its high fidelity, so the Mania is truly a wonder of engineering!
Mania is impressive and has it position as portable as its own right. A9 can fill the sound for your house well in clarity/fullness
There is no way a Devialet Mania outperforms an A9. I have two A9s and used to have a Devialet Phantom. The phantom was not close in terms of clarity than the A9s.
Depends what phantom? I had a B&W 800 D3 in combination with a McIntosh amp and replaced it with a Phantom I, 108db stereo set, and that blew my first set completly out of the water 🤩
If you intend to use the Devialet Mania for streaming videos on a Windows device, be mindful that the sound will come out of speaker out of sync with the image in the video. Devialet is aware of this sound latency issue but does not intend on correcting it. The latency issue will not occur with IOS devices, only Windows and some cell phones.

Is this a fair comparison? The Mania is a portal Bluetooth speaker and the Beoplay 9 is impressive but It is a home speaker.
The Geminis sound so good I literally hear static and less bass if I use any other headphone

Bro you are comparing a Home Audio equipment with a Portable one
Yeah the A9 is a more fucused soundstage as its a point source stereo speaker where as the mania is a omnidirectional speaker. Also the a9 obviously has bigger drivers.

That room has too many hard surfaces and a lot of echo. Some white linen sound panels would probably help.
Do the same beoplay m5 vs a9 test. beoplay a9 vs beosound 1, 2. beoplay a9 vs naim mu-so 2 or QB2. A9 vs Wedge
Please describe the soundstage and imaging vs typical audiophile monitors like KEF, B&W, Boenicke, etc. Is Mania producing real stereo sound?
I would say it does not. Stereo is to be played in to speakers apart from each other. Same goes to like dolby atmos, lots of sound bars do dolby atmos, then you ear a teu dolby speaker set up and you are blown away.
Compare it to Beoplay M5, I expect the M5 to win but that is another bass crazy speaker from Bang and Olufsen. And similar in size to Mania. I

Agreed, as I mentioned in the video, this was not a comparison or battle, but rather to show how decent the Mania is in filling a room vs a speaker that is 10 times it’s size
