Surely they make an aluminum or steel cap to put over the duct opening into your house otherwise you may have visitors inside your house. I would even put metal fine mesh screen over the vent openings so as to keep spiders from slipping in too! Just a thought!❤🤣
Just a suggestion...maybe put some shading net over your Yurt roof in summertime to keep it cool?...our farmers put it over their roofs to beat those hot summer days...works well👌
Thank you all for sharing your life yourselves & the kids. It's such a blessing to me to be able to watch all the changes & growth of the kiddos & what great humans they are be coming.
Several years ago while cutting the yard I ran over a yellow jackets nest and man they really got me I don't know how many attacked me but oh I Paid a big price by running into them that day😅😢😮😅😢😢😢😢🎉
Mike-I am going to give suggestions(sorry, but can't help it).You can get rid of yellow jackets with a solution of water and ammonia.A squirt of dish soap, about two or three tablespoons of ammonia in a squirt bottle of water. Have a bunch of this solution on hand while you spray them.A Hudson sprayer would be a better idea for a big nest. We used to scrap out old a/c units, and we made more money doing that than my hubby's regular job! If you ever get a line on old a/c's,scrapping them is a great family part time income, and our kids loved to take them apart.Everyone pitched in,and we let the boys have the bucket of loops that they got from cutting off the rusty metal strip that held them.We used a saws-all.We even had a heating and air conditioning company drop off the units that they were changing out! It was a sweet sideline.
I’ve been waiting now for over five years for our family to find a farm. I know it’s Gods will and Gods timing. Saying that is easy, living in the time of waiting is hard. I know it must be tough to be a family in a small space. But you all show so many people, me included, how to smile waiting on God and keep persevering. The fact you all show a happy family serving God and living within your means during tough economic times preaches. It shows so many that even when it’s hard to wait God gives us meaningful insight and growth in the wait. I will pray for your family. I love your family videos and have been blessed to watch you for years now. What you do matters❤
I got rid of all sugar in my house and only use monk fruit or stevia. The small 1930's house I live in had no insulation under the house, so I got permission to put some down there. It made all the difference in the world in the winter and also when it's warmer out. Have you thought about installing hot water on demand? It was a common thing many years ago (way before it ever came to the US) in Europe and I loved it, and wished I had it again. If I owned this place I def would put it in.
Once we had been living in a rental home for a few months when my oldest son started making claims of seeing a black widow spider. I thought he was confusing it with a grape spider which were plentifold in that area and i didnt really think he knew the difference. Of course in each case he stomped the m so you could no longer tell. He was making so many sightings i handed him a canning jar and told him to catch me one or two figuring i was going to point out the characteristics which proved him wrong. I figured it would be a day or two but it was less than an hour when he returned with my quart jar with over a dozen spiders and they were all black widows. Did i mention this was when the movie Arachnaphobia was out? Wasted no time calling the pest guy and began cleaning every nook and cranny inside the home looking fir evidence of any spiders. The pest guy opened one of the entrances going under the house to shine a light under revealing what i would describe (maybe exaggerating a tad) as hundreds upon hundreds of spider egg sacks, being guarded over by plenty of adult spiders. We were black widow central just like the movie!!!! Fortunately he was able to take care of the problem, but i definitely get the heebee geebees just thinking about going undea house since then. The amazing blessing God gave us in that we never found any inside the house.
Daddy's the creature under the floor Hezi! That sounds like a horror movie or a story from Edgar Allan Poe 😮. Mike, I kept steeling myself in case a snake popped up on you 😮. Lacey I'm mainly a coffee person. I tried a catnip tea that I ordered from a reservation once. And our cat wouldn't leave me alone ❤❤❤,lol. Btw those yogurt bars sound so delicious!
Btw..love the choice of suspenseful music overlay you chose for your adventure under the yurt..I kept expecting that something was going to pop out one of those ductwork tubes...lol
We just use heavy cream, and occasionally use sugar in the raw. We're morning coffee folks. But a good herbal sleepy time tea in the fall as we end our day. And of course a pumpkin spice or cinnamon flavors for the fall and holiday season. Have great weekend.
They've been living in that yurt for so many years know it's long ocerdue to build that secound yurt that they've now had for a number of years. Mike just needs to get to it.
My favorite tea is Spice Chai followed by mint. I drink it straight, no sweetener. I do also like one cup of coffee in the morning, no sweetener but with a little cream.
Hey Mike this is just a suggestion, but I would block with something in the holes to keep cold air from coming in during the winter. It could help your power bills in the winter too. you could use thick plastic with large zip ties. I think it would work.
Good morning! You are doing a great job!! I love when the family helps out! So respectful! I do remember the yellow jackets when you were stung, OUCH! Please cover the vent and hopefully put skirting around the yurt with an access door to get to the furnace. I love your yurt-YOUR HOME! I’m glad that you are feeling better! Great reviews! God Bless!
Living in the deep south I love fresh orange leaf tea. We can't have oranges year round but orange tea you can & it is very good! I steep 10 leaves to make a gallon. No I don't use spay on our trees or in our garden. When the soil is right we seldom see garden eating bugs. The tree was planted from a seed by my grandmother from a grocery store bought orange 🍊. She did the same with other fruits such as peach & those "Little cute" Little oranges. She has passed on but the work she did when she was on this earth we still benefit from.😊 As always love yalls show!
Well that was a little bit suspenseful, lol. Glad you didn't get stung or bit or anything, Mike. Your work ethic is admirable. Yes I've been wondering about that second yurt. Your girl is growing up. But all good things in their time.
My favorite hot tea is Jasmine, with licorice root being my second-favorite. I don't use any sweetener in those or mint teas, because I do think they're naturally sweet enough, but if I'm having a citrus-infused tea, I might go with a little honey. And YES to the cream in hot black tea and either natural sugar or honey in that (just a little). It looks like you've done a BIG project by getting that ductwork out! I am praying for the prosperity and smoother sailing for your family so you can accomplish your list of "to-do's" easier and without trouble. Thank you for taking us along on your journey! (Looking forward to seeing that next project, too.)
I like either regular Lipton black tea with some sweetened condensed milk in it, or lately I've discovered Tazo Cai Tea and I add Coffee Mate Zero Sugar Cinnamon Roll. It tastes almost like a chai tea latte from Starbucks and has NO sugar!!!
Lacie, I like Chai tea & Lemon Ginger tea. I sweeten mine with honey. Wow the baby is growing up so fast. Love it when I see babies doing sign language. He’s so cute. My daughter taught it to both of her boys when they were little. I really enjoy all your videos. Always a place to learn. I’m still in my waiting room. Having surgery on my right shoulder to reattach a tendon. May I send you a private message to ask you a question? Have a blessed week ahead 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
Well it does give you a bunch of space under tire house for sure. And I love most all teas, the bitter ones aren't my favorite but adding peppermint or chamomile helps that issue😊
I like all herbal teas. I have enough boxes, bags and canisters of herbal teas I could open my own tea shop. lol. Lately I have been drinking more of the immune system boosting teas, though.
Love spearmint tea. Also Red Rose has some "desert" like teas, lemon pound cake & a strawberry I adore. Sadly so much of my pantry items I had someone pack up for me (was in hospital) & they didn't get stuff to right place for me & it's probably wasting away in a storage unit
A couple of years ago we had a huge bald spot on the north of the sun that stayed there for so long and disappeared when they told us the sun's poles were switching... does that mean that the flares were as intense as now🤔 maybe even more? 🤔.
I was cleaning up cleaning all the clutter around my chicken coop. At the same time telling myself be careful look out do not reach to pick or turn something over. And then it happens I turn over a box and All I hear is A big bull snake hissing I jumped so high then had to pick up my heart cuz it fell out. The hole time I'm telling myself to look out and still surprised myself.
So now that you’ve took all the ductwork out, what will you put over the vents to keep critters from getting in your house? Is there some kind of cap or do you have to create something?
I like hot tea myself I drink green tea and dandelion root tea with no sweetener in it or no kind just plain I like more teas also I don't like anything sweet in my teas I like to taste the real stuff. GOD BLESS YOU ALL 🙏❤️
Praying God opens doors for your family.🙏
Surely they make an aluminum or steel cap to put over the duct opening into your house otherwise you may have visitors inside your house. I would even put metal fine mesh screen over the vent openings so as to keep spiders from slipping in too! Just a thought!❤🤣
totally see that animal watching you!
Just a suggestion...maybe put some shading net over your Yurt roof in summertime to keep it cool?...our farmers put it over their roofs to beat those hot summer days...works well👌
Always something to do.
I do pray that u all will get your second yurt up to give yourselves snd children more room. God bless!!everyone plz donate and help this family out!!
With that Music and you under there I was waiting for you to jump and I would end up falling out of my chair! Glad No bees and critters.
Whos been teaching that baby to sign. So cute. My husband was deaf, i think its great that you taught while he cant quite talk yet.
Hi.... Mike Dickson and Lacey and your children to nice to see you all love watching your video homestead 🏡🐔🐓🐣🐥🦃🦢🦆🦮🐈⬛🐐🐝🎥👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍 t
I really enjoy the home improvement projects around the house. I can’t wait for the second yurt to be built. ❤
Enjoyed your video. I love chocolate tea. I must say I love my coffee like Lacie does in the morning. 😊
Thank you all for sharing your life yourselves & the kids. It's such a blessing to me to be able to watch all the changes & growth of the kiddos & what great humans they are be coming.
Yaw are a hardworking family
We love our mini-split- we have a tiny 750 sqft home for our family of 6 and it keeps it at a perfect temp.
I hope you’re feeling better Mike! Great job getting the ductwork out! Can’t wait to see the second Yurt put up!
Love how the baby knows sign language! I was an ASL interpreter years ago and babies can learn and use it before they can talk.
The Lord always provides in His timing. Over and over again- He is faithful.

Wow Mike you had a mess to clean up. Boys were a great help😂
Prayers for God to open doors and provide a way. God bless.

I hate crawling under my house too. I only do it in the cold months unless there’s an emergency. lol
How're you going to repair the old heating routes? Are you going to remove the old ducts and insulate & repair the spaces?
We just use heavy cream, and occasionally use sugar in the raw. We're morning coffee folks. But a good herbal sleepy time tea in the fall as we end our day. And of course a pumpkin spice or cinnamon flavors for the fall and holiday season. Have great weekend.
Waiting to see the new build
They've been living in that yurt for so many years know it's long ocerdue to build that secound yurt that they've now had for a number of years. Mike just needs to get to it.
How did you plug your vents
When are you going to build the other yurt.
Blackcurrant tea is one of my favorites, along with camomile for nights.
My favorite tea is Spice Chai followed by mint. I drink it straight, no sweetener. I do also like one cup of coffee in the morning, no sweetener but with a little cream.
So how do you stop cold air from coming into the vents since you removed the duck work?
Feeling better, Mike? Prayers.
Better than before but not 100%
Hey Mike this is just a suggestion, but I would block with something in the holes to keep cold air from coming in during the winter. It could help your power bills in the winter too. you could use thick plastic with large zip ties. I think it would work.
Love your videos and enjoy watching. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals

My new favorite tea is from Plum Deluxe- caramel snickerduddle. I love to sweeten my tea with honey. Blessings to your family ❤
Mini-split good call and tankless water heater should be installed.
Lavender, mint, and chamomile
Are you going to add insulation under there and close up the holes where the ducts were? You left us in suspense - on purpose - lol.
I just couldn’t let Mike hold the baby after handling that insulation.
Your music fits the drama 😁
Vanilla chai and monk fruit as my sweetner. Enjoy the day🙂
One Of My Favorites Is Chai Vanilla Tea With Coconut Sugar
