Great to have another vid to watch and an update on the S1600. You show and talk about things we can all relate to. In this case what you’re planning to do to keep it in great condition and hopefully improve it along the way. You’re never boring mate!😂👍🏻
Great first drive video👌🏻…I’ve only ever seen one s1600 here in Northern Ireland they see to be a rare wee car and tbh I didn’t even know they existed until I saw your video after the purchase.. As regards to what videos we want to see I’d like anything car related tbh, from a drive to even hoovering it out🤣. Keep it up mate love the channel👏🏻
Haha I think you might be the only one that would watch if I did a hoovering video 😂😉 Yea they are quite rare that’s for sure - certainly don’t see many on the road where I live either!
I would fit an ST recaro interior, keep then preserve the original interior as it will transform the driving experience and solve your high seating position. Great video Gary 👍
What a lovely little car. I think you should have shown all those little jobs you did. It really does make for good content I find, even if it seems mundane - almost like we're with you on the project if that makes sense. I look forward to seeing more progress. Thank you.
Thanks! I do agree with you about the little jobs, however I’ve been pushed for time recently so just squeezed the jobs in during a couple of evenings after Tea - it’s a faff filming it 🙈 I will try my best in the future though!
Enjoying the fiesta uploads My recommendation is to absolutely take it for a track session/day, I thoroughly enjoyed taking my car last Zetec s out at Combe and despite not having much power it does still have you a good time round a smaller circuit Be good to do a vid for it 💪
Haha yea that would be interesting, never driven a slower car like this on track before - the slowest car I’ve driven on track is a clio 182 - that was great fun 👌🏻
The S1600 fiesta still look great. I'll be honest I've always preferred the look of the pre facelift front end, and this is from someone who owned a mk7 ST lol. I think you made the right choice going with the 1.6 petrol. They're simple cars to run and offer plenty of joy
@CarFocused cheap maintenance honestly put original plugs and maintain it I've alot friends St's etc all go back to metal edition or these due to maintenance etc
@@CarFocused Cool… Thanks again Gary. Looking forward to seeing more videos on your S1600 enhancements 😁😁 My Eibachs are on the way from Germany for my ‘17 Fiesta ST 7.5. I’ve also bought some new black centre hub caps, as my old ones were bubbling up 😍😍
Need your advice Gary 🤔 Rear spring on my ‘17 Fiesta ST has gone kaput at 43k mls !! What would you recommend as a replacement without spoiling the true nature of the car and which springs do you have fitted to yours Gary 🤔 May stick with Ford as to keep it original or where do you get your Eibachs from 🤔🤔 Cheers buddy 😁😁
Yeah, think I’m gonna go with Eibachs 👍🏻👍🏻 My brother in law works at Ford, so should get a staff discount on them 😀😀 Thanks v.much for your help Gary, you’re a ⭐️
I don't think I've had a car without a centre armrest since my last XR3i, however I never use it! I'm much more interested in vids on the Fiesta than the Cupra and would watch any jobs/mods you do on it.
I have a 2012 Metal Edition with 60k miles on I bought it when it had 50k miles has the Sony stereo and reverse camera and sensor 4K it cost me such a fun little drive they aren’t slow for a 1.6 non turbo but I’m selling to upgrade to a Focus ST
Personally if I was looking to downgrade I would have gone with the fiesta st can pick up a decent low mileage one for a couple grand more and running costs are really good mine did 40mpg with mixed driving. The ST got better mpg than my 1.25 when sat on the motorway because of the 6th gear. And you still get to have some fun with 200hp compared to 59
Thing is mate I have to draw the line somewhere - I was originally looking to buy the TDCI Zetec S so this was a step up already. Once you start getting into the realms of turbocharged hot hatches maintenance costs etc do tend to rise. My RS will be 375bhp next month so that’s more than enough to fill the void if I need to 😊
@@CarFocusedYes that is very true and I totally understand I suppose you have your RS as a toy and probably makes going out in that much more special.
Hiya mate did you say a while ago you attacked the underneath of the rs with rust precautions. My 2010 rs has been noticed on the mot its getting a bit rusty underneath 😢
@@CarFocused thanks mate i will check it out some one mentioned dry ice to clean it but it's quite expensive and not everybody does it and also trusting someone else to do it. 👍
As above mate I wanted something that still had a bit of character, is fun to drive but is also cheap to run and relatively hassle free. I already ran a Mk2 ST as a daily a few years ago and they are so thirsty and maintenance isn’t that cheap I didn’t want to do it again. The Fiesta ST is cheaper than the Focus to run, but still not as cheap as this 👌🏻
@CarFocused how do you find the fuel I see mention good mpg maybe depends on driving distance as say 10 mile or less looking at like anything from 33-38
Great video. Cracking little car. Looking forward to seeing more uploads on it.
Thanks 😊

That has certainly been a consideration Jamie, Fiesta ST steering wheel is also an option too. Thanks for watching 😊

Cracking video mate. I think for £5k you got a cracking deal. Ford at their best before they lost they're heads on ev's and suv's
Yea to be fair by today’s market 5k isn’t all that bad - it’s a really tidy car too!
Do you use an Alan Key to remove the light assembly for the licence plate bulbs Gary. If not, how do you do it 🤔🤔 Cheers mate 😊😊
Just a very small flat head screwdriver in the hole at the end of the lens and it pops out mate

To be honest, for personal commute a Fiesta is perfect.

Haha yes it’s quite basic but it does have an extra cup holder on the center console where the armrest would normally be so every cloud and all that 😁

Once up in the power band it’s certainly nippy 👌🏻 Good luck with your search for the ST 👍🏻
How did you update the head unit, the one in my s1600 is terrible BT always dropps out and USB doesnt even work.
Follow this guide 👍🏻

Nice the auto windows are annoying tho or lack off and key window closure lack off
Mine only has the one touch feature on the drivers side window, the passenger side you have to keep your finger on the button.
