Late reply but no its just the electrical part of the switch at the back which is seperate to the barrel.

Mines got a similar problem but it all works only just for a second and then the relay clics off.. Airbag module doesn't work as well with out it on..

to test the relay cant you just take the relay to your left and use that?

Check the fuse 50amp in the engine Fuse box. It’s a big red one. F30 located.
