Meaning all they need is any partially radioactive substance and pack a ball of explosives around it, the more mass of the core and more synchronized the compression the bigger the boom up to the cores critical mass (biggest boom for material, which honestly means a 1lb warhead can reach 5he same boom as a 6kton one but we havent managed it yet) As for their only going most of the way to japan then falling well, icbms launch vertically reaching an excess of 25,020mph (escape velocity) then either orbit or accelerated orbit almost too target then merely puff a little gas out to aim at target and push them a degree or 2 out of orbit, gravity takes over and turns it into a bullet. So this science lesson should say 2 things, 1- anyone with uranium and dynamite with a basic nuclear physics knowledge could make anywhere from a kiloton to a multi megaton warhead for their missile, and for propulsion for a missles to drop and hit bear japan it had to have powered out in low orbit, meanin they need about 10% more fuel or less drag which even a child could adjust design enough to compensate when your that close. so in summary as someone who understands the workings of these things, N.koreas nuclear weapons are 1 multi million dollar modification away from having global range and are at least 4x the city busters dropped on japan. how i know they are that much stronger? those city busters had a 4 charge core, a ball with a + of charges around it which doesnt compress so even, even a weak charge wrapped all the way around shames those early designs.

World in Conflict was a lucky find of a game, dollar at 2nd hand store. It turned out to be one of my favorite games that year. Plus you zoom in on all the units, it's very detailed.
