I saw this entire show in one sitting, and this is coming from someone who DOES NOT BINGE. It was so addictive and well done. I gotta say, the hospital bed scene was one that really stuck with me and finding out that Ali was the one who came up with it, damn!, just makes it that much better and memorable.

The choice to use Mayonaise by the Smashing Pumpkins for that ending scene was probably the most perfect song choice I've ever experienced in a show or film. All throughout the season too just perfect song choices. Nostalgic, grungy and mournful early 90's/2000's alt rock. Made me long for the feeling of growing up in that era. I'm a 30 year old man and TV shows don't make me cry, but this one did.

I just loved being able to identify all the songs at the end of each episode. None of them are deep cuts and they got plenty of radio play back in the late 90’s 00’s (hell, even now) To the point where these songs became kind of boring to me. But hearing them used in the show made them feel brand new to me! Now I’ve been constantly listening to them since. 10/10 show.

It was so hard to not binge this all in one go. The characters had parts of them that you could relate with, and then some parts that made you go, "Please don't do that, please have better judgement." But I think that makes them all the more human. There were some reckless decisions but you could empathize and understand at least the source of all their chaotic thinking and wild behavior. Ali Wong impressed me with her acting chops and Steven Yeun definitely did not disappoint as usual. The church scenes were way too real.

My wife and I binged this one in one go, even though we never do that anymore. It just speaks too well to us - I'm not Asian American but she is, but it's also so much about 90's kids now in their late 30's. The entire soundtrack was basically what was popular when I was in High School.

This show was amazing. For me, it is up there with Soprano and Breaking Bad. World class casting…I can’t imagine any other than these two playing the roles. Also, supporting casts were incredible! Hard to top David Choe for the gangster cousin role ….he was so natural!
As Korean American, I could relate to the church scenes, elder brother’s confusions / pedantic attitude, and modern filial piety.
No matter what stage and shape you are in your life, this TV show makes you ponder about something about yourself. Not many shows do that for me.

This series was excellent. Ali surprised me with her dramatic acting skills because she's one of the funniest comedians I have ever heard. The crows talking was an awesome and strange surreal moment that I loved as well as the long conversation between Amy and Danny while dying. They talk about all sorts of issues, the big questions. That's one thing I'm loving about Netflix is that they are using some really deep philosophical conversations for series that are on another intellectual level. There were so many ways that I identified with Amy and ways that so many women in our present day have to be a certain person wearing a mask all the time. Danny's story is a tragic and heartbreaking one but I loved that he was seeking out spiritual solace because sometimes it's all a person has. A wonderful series that I'm so happy I watched.

100% agree. This scene made me nauseous. I had to look away and it felt like it went on forever. But on the second watch, after I was mentally prepared for the brutality, I realized the scene was actually much shorter than I thought. It's like the shock of it slowed down my perception of time. That's great screen writing right there 😅

So many good scenes, but that Episode 1 ending scene where Danny is running from Amy on the street right after he pissed all over her bathroom... he's grinning ear to ear as he runs, and then Amy starts smiling once she memorizes his license plate and realizes she can go after him - and that song "The Reason" comes on - as in these two have suddenly found a reason to live, to not to kill themselves or sink into crippling depression. They have to be strong and thrive now... so they can crush each other! LMAO!! One of the most brilliant scenes of ALL TIME.

Amazing show that gave a voice to so many things I can’t explain.
If you don’t address your trauma, it ends up eventually hurting those you love the most … but most people don’t recognize it (or blame the world instead of looking inward) until the damage is done. So sad, sooooo accurate.

Netflix's Beef. This show. Oh my gosh. When Netflix first announced this show, just the summary and casting alone had me immediately interested and rooting hard for Netflix to give this show the greenlight and I was so ecstatic in days I was eagerly waiting for the premiere. Then April 6th arrived and I watched all 10 episodes in one sitting. This show not only lived up to the hype, but also subverted my expectations and still delivered. And I was so deeply invested and engrossed with each episode, and the writing, directing, production, plot, storyline, acting, soundtrack and cinematography are all phenomenal. And I actually watched the entire series again with my mom Eunic and noticed nuanced details I hadn't noticed before. That's how well made this show is. And Steven Yeun and Ali Wong give their fiercest and most passionate acting skills I've ever seen with their portrayals of Danny and Amy. And I also loved nuanced, non stereotypical Asian American representation that's in this show, many aspects of which actually got familiar to me afterwards.
I could go on and on, but I think I've said enough. Netflix's Beef was meant to be made and I'm glad Lee Sung Jin took the time to share his twisted, pitch black funny, insightful and poignant vision with audiences.
    My rating: 12/10 ❤

The supporting characters seem to be itching to be unleashed.

As an asian american, I've tended to avoid Asians american media ie FOB, crazy rich asians, because all in all- I couldn't relate. No immigrant family talks to each other in perfect english, and watching this show made me realize that people are actually trying to express what its like growing up asian. When Danny spoke to his family in korean, i was like FINALLY- all these events seems so relatable and believable for once.
I actually have been avoiding everything, everywhere all at once because I assume it was going to be another overhyped 'Asian' movie that is non relatable no matter what ppl on social media were sprouting, but because of this show. My faith is restored and I'll give it a chance now.
THANK YOU BEEF cast, for ACTUALLY represent asians and what its like as an asian american

I love my brothers, I could never imagine being in a position where I'd have to tell my brother to get away from me because I betrayed him that bad. Seeing Danny finally admit his betrayal and how hurt Paul was just sucked to see. Really really good show. Thankgod my brothers aren't like Danny haha.
