Glock 17 is the 17 patent of glock who was a tool maker ,the numbers dont match the caliber because of the order of patents he made
The model numbers represent the patent number not the caliber or magazine capacity.
The G45 is a 9, G40 is a 10, G22 is a 40...Glocks have been confusing for awhile.
Next up: Glock comes out with the 50. They cerakote it with an American Flag and call it the American Edition, or G50 AE for short. Chambered in 22.
They are just named after the patent numbers. Last Glock is a 48. So the next will be a 49 and 50. Maybe in 30 Super Carry.

Two things: (1) God bless you two, Military Arms Channel and Small Arms Solutions for the videos you post on gun reviews. I got into private firearms ownership in March of '18 and I would've made poor choices in firearms if it wasn't for you all. (2) I would LOVE to see Glock come out with a 5.56 long rifle!!
You ought to send that idea for Glock to make a 556 rifle, they may take you up on it.
Strange you say that about the trigger. My g45 doesnt have any sort of strange "hump" in the pull. Feels as good as my gen4 with the 3.5 connector.
If I recall, I believe Hickok 45 talks about it and a few others do too. I can feel it in mine if I pull it really, really slowly. During normal firing, it feels just fine. It's like mine has a wall, then another smaller wall and after that, boom.
I remmember back around 1985, some dude put a 17 rds mag into a G19... I guess he envision this comming...

I wish Glock would come out with a 10mm single stack somewhere in between the G36 and G48 in size. 8+1 capacity with a 3.5" barrel. That would be just perfect to me.

Another Great video with a perfect Glock 45 9mm. I appreciate both of you for the time you take to make these videos! I have 2 G-19's & 1 G17, but for sure I'm getting this G-45. I think the trigger will improve with rounds. Most other videos like the trigger the most. It's a Glock - simple, great carry for LEO's...etc, and I believe the extra 3/4 of inch won't matter on my everyday carry. Thanks again!

@@mmafanatic-tz5or not really. It can print a bit more than a 19 but not extremely more. I appendix carry so for me it only ever prints right at the end of the grip where the mag well flares out a bit and it just looks like a wrinkle in my shirt.

The trigger is FINE! You just have to train with it, to get used to it and understand it, so you can use it the way you want. Guns have different trigger responses, and its not the triggers with the problems.. its the people pulling the trigger! : / PRACTICE WILL CORRECT MOST PROBLEMS WITH ANY TRIGGERS!

I'm tired of Glocks. When you've seen one, you've seen them all. They all look the same. They are the same. It's a good gun. It can't get any better, and it can't get any worse. It's a dead end. It's boring. The Glock is the most boring gun I've ever seen.

I have both 19X & 45 . The 19X is a better gun in that it's finish is more durable & is easy to grip slide unlike the 45 which is slick as owl 💩 & wears on barrel & breechface rather quickly on the gen5 guns. I wish Glock would offer NPVD on all Gen 5 guns.

Reality: When has Glock ever named a model after the caliber it's chambered in? Remember when the Glock 17 came out chambered in .17 cal? Or what about the Glock 22 chamber in .22lr? Hell lets branch out to other makers, the HK P30, HK P2000, Sig P226, or P320, all of those guns are very clearly chambered in the respective calibers in the model name right?

The G45 is one of the dumbest gimmick guns ever, imo and I wish they didn't do away with the finger grooves on the Gen 5. Why don't you just get a Model 17 if you like the frame so much? You're sacrificing 12mm (114mm vs 102mm) of precious barrel length with a Model 19/45 slide, that's reduced in size for concealment purposes. If you're gonna chuck all that 'concealment' out the window with a Model 17 frame, what's the point of a smaller upper assembly? EVERYTHING revolves around the barrel! Wanna tighten up that shot group? Get a Model 17. Wanna conceal? Model 19. Otherwise, good video.
Your comments about it's trigger I think are just a issue with your example, mine has a great trigger, for a factory trigger.

Just buy a good gun like any P320 variant and save a fortune. Why would anybody buy this shit over any P320 beats me. If you are a Glock guy for a long time and trained with Glock I get it. At our gun shop we refer to it as the G45. This cuts down on confusion. And two thumbs up for the Night Fission sights. I have them on all my carry guns and just got a suppressor height set for my incoming G45MOS.
Why would you cut off the 19x grip piece when all you have to do is change out the Glock mags base plates instead which is cheap can use the same mags just change base plate
My G45 trigger out of the Box had zero hump and is sharp as a harpoon. Nothing super fancy but definitely crisp/Sharp without a hump.
Late to this but looking at reviews, after buying my G45 Gen5 MOS and so far it's been up to my expectations. It's been a joy to find available parts and accessories. Miss the Meltdown videos, hope to see them in a round 2 edition.

My G45 MOS does not have a "hump" in the trigger. There's just take up and a clean break.

I know. If they had a 22lr with Glock reliability it would be massively popular. I do own a Taurus TX22 that works flawlessly so far and it is a full size 16 round striker fired pistol.
The German manufacturer Uhl made a conversion kit to 22 lr. It is very reliable because it features a recoil booster.
And now they do! Let’s find out

Great video as always but I noticed thats not a Glock 45 in some of the video, 10minutes 35 seconds the front cocking serrations are gone. Not nitpicking just an observation.
The G45 is my new favorite Glock model. In my opinion it’s nicer to shoot than the 17 or the 19 because of the combination of the full size grip and compact slide. Less reciprocating mass with more to hold onto.

I also think this is a better version than the 19 X it has versatility. You don’t have to buy special magazines. I bought one of the first ones at my local gun shop. that’s my new EDC I personally like it. I did put night sights on mine. Bad guys still hang out at night. 🤣😂🤣😂👍🇺🇸

My Glock 45 took well over 1000 rounds before it got rid of that mushy gen 5 trigger. Any of the other gen 5’s usually have just a touch of mush before the break.

My gen 5G43 has a coil on the take down lever and the slide stop also has a coil. Must be all gen 5's.

Just picked up a factory rebuilt g45 a month ago. Absolutely love it. Heck of a deal on it.
Don't laugh but I need your help guys. I'm 39 years old and have never owned a firearm. Only fired a few of them. Which type should I look into getting first? Handgun or rifle? I'd love to one day be proficient and effective with both. I'm willing to train. I feel like now is time. Before it's too late. I want to be able to protect my family if something happens. And a knife, club, and pepper spray is only gonna get me so far. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

Just in case…for anyone who doesn’t know… the glock model number is based on what patent it is. Patent 22 is the glock 22… glock 17 is patent 17.. etc etc. correct me if I’m wrong.

Took off the awful plastic factory sights and installed NIGHT FISION night sights. If you do that and still shoot the 45 bad, it is you and not the gun.
Couple months and a few hundred rounds later. I have grown more comfortable with the Glock 45. This and the Gen 5 Glock 34 are the most comfortable of any Glock that I own. In my opinion the G 45 is the best all round pistol. The G 34 is a nightstand gun in addition to being a favorite range gun. When the 34 isn’t out there’s a Mossberg 590SP at bedside for those things that go bump in the night. All my defensive weapons have various Streamlight weapon lights.

CZ 75 already has good trigger, sights, grip angle, and reliability. But I guess if Toyota is more desirable than Lexus, go with the Glock.

So this 45 is a 19x in black with the cheap glock sights then basically. What will be the price difference? If it's alot less than 100 diff. then the 19x is still the way to go. I'm also surprised they didnt make it optics ready.
