If you're getting bored of too many neutral color rooms, you can always choose one wall to be a statement wall. Either a bold color or a fun wallpaper.
    Enjoying the chill videos!

I love doing wallpaper in a small room. It's super fun and packs a bigger punch than in a large room :D

@@gilliangilliangillian same! I went for taking tasks on wallpaper as soon as possible. HF has cool wallpaper.

This is exactly what my parents did in their house. Most walls are white, but there's always one or two yellow or orange walls. It instantly makes everything look more friendly, warm and much more like a home. If you paint everything white or gray it just looks sterile and cold in my opinion.

I watched the entire series so far, and i'm starting to wonder how much rugs wels has in his own house

Nearly every house so far has had an area rug on top of carpet, so I'm starting to question this too lol

Yall domt put rugs on the carpet? The rug protects the carpet from wear and tear over the years

Weird note about paint efficiency, not that money is an issue in this series, but if you load up your brush with a cheap paint, say plain white, then click on a different paint colour, all the white paint immediately turns into the other colour without draining the coloured paint can at all. I always use that trick to balance out the amount of paint I buy because otherwise the remains of multiple cans get sold or a second can has to be bought, which feels bad. Tens of dollars saved!

I've sold this house for almost 100k before. Playing with the layout and really going detailed helps a ton with these smaller houses. Plus the garden can up your sales by up to 50% so it's really worth it to lean into a garden theme. I find English gardens fun because the gazebos are nice and I already like doing a lot of little areas of seating and flowers.

this house is my home office in my most recent save ! it's always interesting to see how different people approach the same thing. I think I did dark hardwood throughout the house, for example, whereas you opted for the original pine and carpet. I keep forgetting there ARE carpet options in the game, lol

Have you considered using light lilac for a paint color? I like it quite a lot! Also thank you for explaining how you do the backsplashes! I don't have the HGTV dlc so I was confused on how you did it.

I really hope they add in just half walls of tile, etc and whatever paint you want up top. Seems crazy it's not an option already.

I think the windows having different colours in the frame part is actually a design thing
Our livingroom has green and grey walls but the windows are white because it increases the natural light through just.. being light but also bouncelight.
It also adds another piece of contrast in a way that isnt out of place
The bright windows are great expecially because our place is already small and light things makes a room look bigger while dark bits just cram it up..

I was looking at the bedroom for a bit and i think maybe darker coloured curtains, possibly in a warmer colour like a burnt umber or something, could have helped to tone down the colour of the room slightly, and make it all match the furniture a bit too? yellow can be so tricky to work with, its SO bright and trying to keep it neutral is hard - you did a really good job overall i thought, i liked the branch out into something a bit bolder, i thought you did well with it even if it wasn't your favourite.
excited to keep seeing what you do!

You shouldn't say you did nothing with the garden. You should say the garden is a blank canvas for the resident to put his mark on the house and make it truly his home. Everytime I see someone selling houses they say this about the unfinished places.

I don't think I've ever actually been able to sell a house for a loss regardless of what I did. I'm pretty sure the buyers always ask for more than you spend.

Regarding some wood options being available only with some chairs instead of all chairs, etc - that's not just a limitation of this game. It's a thing IRL, and it's just as annoying.
