You need a baffles Oil cacht can With the filter or baffles, the catch can separate the oil/gas/air blow by mixture, trapping the oil and contaminates, while it allows the cleaner air to pass through, drawn by a vacuum into the intake. sorry for the copy and paste but am from qc and we speak french

Thx for the answer and with your meth kit did you have to do a custom tune to it bc the meth kit allow for more boost without the heat(waters) and predetonation (méthanol) so did you did a custom tune to add the extra hp that gives you the methanol kit or when you instal the kit on your car exemple (stock) will you notice the different? And nice car I have the same A4 b8 but older and on a lower trim level I guess bc your mmi is different

Yes you can , when I just had the delete on my b7 I got some leaks from crank case pressure over time, but that’s a good alternative, and stay blessed bro

Right now I have both ie and hpa, which are the best , with injection points, I was going to go with my ie one, and do a video on the install, I just have not put it in yet, because it requires a tune for the runner flaps to be deleted, I feel ie is more established, and gos is still working on there tune. 💪💪💪💯💯💯 I’ll keep you in the loop

I wanted to get the APR tune, APR K04 and pair it with the IE manifold but not sure if there is a tuner who can offer the runner flap delete file outside of IE. So now I’m thinking of getting the CTS/Borg Warner K04, IE K04 100 Octane tune and IE intake manifold. However, I’m having trouble finding that specific CTS K04 anywhere.
Can I ask what the intake runner delete does?
I'd love to install a catch can on my TT but in Europe we have freezing winters for a few months so I'm worried about blowing the gaskets if somehow the condesation freezes in the can. What are you thoughts on it with our types of engines?

hey there Bruce hope all is well, I just recently installed my CTS catch can for my 2014 Audi a4 b8.5 and my check engine light came on and from somewhere is has a vacuum leak. and i live in New York so right now I don't if I take it off cause of the winter or leave it. ant advice will be appreciated. thank you

@@Waynesright yeh it has to be small enough process the air flow, but I have washed my car , and driven in the rain with no issues. For over a year, a lot of off roaders use it to for mud, and stuff like that, I tested it , it likes water beads off of it like wax. If you put it in a bucket it won’t sink, but if you press it down it will bubble up and eventually sink
Hey mate, just a question. Wouldn't blocking off the pcv cause more pressure in the engine? This could lead to more oil leaks?
I was thinking of installing an oil separator between the pcv and the intake so the crank pressure is maintained while oil is captured by the catch can.

It should eliminate the crankcase pressure by being an open breather setup. That's how it works with my evo.
maybe next time you can pour it into a clear cup/container? otherwise good content

I empty my catch can in my SRT Jeep an S3 every week when i do my clean an maintenance, if you let it fill up it’ll start to suck the oil from the catch can i go the motor

I have an Audi A4 B8 2.0t, since I bought it I didn’t noticed it was burning and consuming engine oil. Lately more often I have to add a quart or so. The car 🚙 runs fine and no check engine lights on. I’m really hoping you would save me on this one, cuz I no most of the times the shop will just sell you lies. Please get back me. Thank you 🙏

Will a universal one work or does it have to be something specific I just recently bought my 2012 a5 and I have big plans for the car currently only mod is a straight piped muffler I will be getting a cold air intake and a catless downpipe soon before I tune the car.
Universal will work, just a little bit of modifying
Curious if you had oil consumption issues with your 2012 A5. I also have a 2012 A4, pistons, rings and timing chain were replaced around 50 K. Also added an intake, down pipe, intercooler, K04 turbo, and an IE aluminum manifold. The wagon really scoots along now! In the process of changing the fueling.
@@grantbradley5084 yes I had to get a oil change not even 3 days after the dealership then about 2 weeks later I had the add a liter light I don't know how to fix this problem I went into the gas station and bought a gallon of 5w 40 and put about half in now it says I'm full I really hate that the car doesn't have a dip stick because half the time I can't even see my oil level on the computer it says it's not available if you know how to fix it would be greatly appreciated
Did this solve the problem of carbon buildup around your exhaust? A buddy has a white a4 and the rear bumper near the exhaust looks blaaaaack.
Hey Bruce thanks for all the videos! Just got my cts oil catch can. Installed everything correctly(Had a left over black seal, couldn't figure out what it did.) I didn't get any lights but my engine started running so rough it turned off. Wondering if this is a result of crankcase pressure or vacuum leaks? Wanting to know where to purchase an air breather? 2010 Audi a4 B8 TFSI.

I live in Northern Europe and it will go down to -30c during winter, it says on ecs site that might freeze, is that true?
unfortunately in dose temps, every thing has that possibility, however, I have 4 subscribers who live there who has it with no issues, but they frequently warm up there car,
It doesnt freeze up, im from canada and i had to remove my CTS catch can Becuase it kept getting full within 400-500Km so that was limiting my travel so i took it off. During winter ur gonna have to empty it out more often than summer time

Problem for some is cold climates. These things get so gunked up in cold temps... enough that you have to bypass in the winter months, which is a PITA. Still a great video!
Good info, I think the freeze temps is -10%, some people just remove it in super cold , zones, and just park there car, because of them not being to drive. But if you have no choice, you definitely have to keep your car warmed up

Funny thing is I went to buy one from my local tuning shop here in Toronto and they told me since I live in a cooler/colder climate I don’t really need one.

maybe your oil is thicker in colder climate, so less blow by , is the only reasoning i can think of from a logical perspective, but as you can see, its pretty straight to the point, you still will have blow by but maybe a little less with or in colder weather
What shop told u this? At least WCT warned me about the winter times. I ended up taking my off cuz it kept getting filled within 400-500km so it was limiting my travel. Summer time usually takes 600-700 to fill up and im talking about CTS catch can which bigger than the one in the vid

I need an advice man. I’ve installed this cts catch can kit a month ago and I noticed a drop of my engine oil. I have to empty the can every 400-500km, it’s cold here because its winter i’m assuming it’s condensation that is filling it up. Its white gunk and smells like gas. My question is where is all those oil going? No visible oil leaks but engine oil low so i have to top up my oil to max frequenlty
believe it or not the fact that you have low oil is a good, sign, that means that you have minimum blow bye, and your pistons, and crankcase pressure is being regulated properly, when its cold, the oil is thicker so you would have more gas as its thin. Of course the high and more you tune, the more blow bye, so i wouldn't be to concerned, blow bye is un bunrt fuel, and oil. in my b9 audi i have the same results, and its a 2019. but if you noticed I put a breather on top of my catch can to release some of the crank case pressure, were the oil stick goes, and that helped were I didnt have to change it as much, as before. th-cam.com/video/lNDuveimJYs/w-d-xo.html

@@brucecustommotors also i noticed that i lost the vaccuum from the filler cap. Like when the engine is running and i open the cap, there was some vaccuum before but after installing it its gone and i feel some pressure pushing out the oil cap. Some say its normal, some say its not. Idk i think im just paranoid at this point lol
