My hubby says why do you keep trying every product he recommends…I tried the Stevia, and refined organic coconut sugar…They both have bad after taste or bitter 🥥 😅🙋🏻‍♀️💕🤣

    Hi , I am from kerala,India (kerala means land of 🌴 coconut trees). In my house in kerala we have coconut trees so we have fresh coconut every time and always have a stock of homemade oil.
    From my childhood onwards I am hearing that coconut is not good for health but now people saying coconut is good and seeing coconut based products in USA stores I feel really proud , at last our coconut got recognition .

      Rachel I Hi, thx for commenting. For me, here’s a “basic rundown” on what happens if I eat foods, or even take medication that uses these as “binders/fillers”...(w/o going into more detail or personal medical history/experiences.....just giving “tiny recap”)
      What happens when I “eat” anything w/ xanthum gum & guar gum, horrible intense stomach pains, breakout in hives (which also hinders my breathing), as well as, horrible migraines, & diarrhea etc....issues. I also ended up getting an intestinal blockage from eating too much guar gum once, which required surgery to “fix”. Not a fun day, needless to say when end up eating stuff that has the ingredients; & the symptoms can last for days/weeks.
      These “items” are considered & registered w/ the FDA as “GRAS”: Generally Recognized As Safe. For most ppl I’d say that’s probably true, since artificial sugars, sugar alcohols, & substances as Guar Gum, Xanthun Gum are used in a LOT of FOODS, MEDICINES, etc.... I just have “other” medical issues that compounds the affects on my health.
      Hope this helped you..... Cheers ✌🏼

    I used to eat coconut (and the juice inside) when I was in Hong Kong.
    I think the flesh is delicious with little sweetness.
    Coconut oil has its unique aroma but I never thought it has a lot of benefits.
    Don't worry about sat fat because it can be fully dissolved in the mouth with just saliva.

    Bobby, do you ever research the environmental impact of these products? I have friends who believe that coconut sugar is better for them than other sweeteners. Coconut sugar may have special flavor, but all sugar is CARBs. Also, coconut is very high in saturated fat! Many healthy people are perhaps not affected, but I’m sure a number are. After reading Michael Pollan’s “Omnivore’s Dilemma” (HIGHLY recommend!!), I’m concerned about consuming large amounts of manufactured foods from the other side of the planet. The petroleum used to get it to the Mid Atlantic area is a lot! Coconut water in a single use plastic bottle??? Come ON people! Finally, when I was a kid, we bought intact coconuts, complete with brown shell, from the grocery store, smashed them open with a hammer & enjoyed the milk and meat as a special treat. So much energy and plastic is used to bring us all these products.

      Nope. Most say to consume with 24 hrs. Plus you'd probably need to blend it - the fat and water don't mix all that well. Granted I use the Native Forest brand - it is actually only $1.79 at my local natural grocers store and 3/4 coconut cream. You can make your own coconut milk from coconut flakes (not shreds, unsweetened obviously), as long as you have a decent blender or food processor.

    Coconut is best RAW .
    Because of its oil content in the fiber coconut starts getting rancid at cumulative speeds . As you all know too well raw coconut gets rancid even during refrigeration. At best use it within n 24 hrs of opening during winter . It can be preserved frozen !
    MY CONTENTION is this :
    USDA rules for the definition of organic have been on the slippery slope ever since it was started . What was *defined* organic in 1998 , it is not in the market anymore
    . Coconut was given a *demonic status by business men* who paid clinical scientists to write papers against coconut And then they turned back and wrote it is great for health in the mid 1990s.
    For generations we have been using coconut in all its forms and no one died of heart attack or any diseases . Nor were they on medication until 90's !
    So We are speaking from the horses mouth - Coconut oil has a strong flavor , The strong flavoring ingredient in the coconut oil is already processed out before it is flushed into the market . This ingredient which gives the smell is it's best property ! So it is like eating rice without the germ inside ! Go figure :)
    Thailand and Philippinos also consume coconut oil. So I will want to check one of these stores
    So it is best to consume as *LITTLE* processed foods. Till then I will use Ghee ( Ancient ORGANICS - buy it by the gallon from their website ) and buy raw coconuts
    Make your own coconut milk . Yes , making *food from Scratch* takes *time*Food is medicene. And your health is decided in what we choose to eat ?
    *When Food is the most imp thing then why don't we spend time making it* , because *empowered men and feminists looked down on men and women in the kitchen* !!!
    So here's to RAW coconut water ! not the bottled RAW ! ! Go Figure America :)

    Wow, @4:45 I spy BOXED WATER! That's new to me... and why didn't someone think of that YEARS ago? Plastic, be gone! I just got an Alexapure Pro filtration system for my apartment, and I'm loving the water and will no longer be hauling bottled water up the stairs to my apartment (joy). But if I'm on the go, I will definitely be on the lookout for boxed water. Also, Bobby, THANK YOU for NOT double dipping (like George Castanza) in the yogurt. It drives me nuts when I see TH-cam food vids and the host goes back in with a dirty spoon. Yuck! I watch how you roll when cooking live, and you're probably the ONLY conscientious one out there.

They also have a delicious little restaurant. Try their grass fed beef chili and homemade kombucha! They even offer how to classes.

    • @CouponFrenzy
      @CouponFrenzy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't do either unless you really need it as a dairy alternative. Coconut oil is solid at room temperature. Any fat that is solid at room temperature is a bad fat. If you're looking for an indulgence, then fine. But no one should leave here thinking it's actually good for you. And it's not great for skin because it blocks up your pores. You could use it on your cuticles. Grape seed oil is much better for your skin.

      Teri, have you tried Nut Pods? I like it very much. Pretty sure it's "Bobby Approved"... He recommends the one in the fridge (as opposed to the shelf), because it's less heat treated for long shelf life. The one in the fridge is a fresher product, though, I do buy the "long shelf life" kind when it's on sale. Also, are you avoiding dairy for a specific reason? If not, I always pour a splash of organic heavy whipping cream in with my Nut Pods creamer. I froth them together, and it's DELISH!

    • @terileduc4965
      @terileduc4965 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sections of rain forest are being clear cut to plant coconut palms because of world demand and I think much of the benefits are BS along with Palm Oil. I try to find the source of the product before buying when I DO buy coconut. I love coconut. Almonds are great too, the downside is the trees take a ton of water so not so good for a finite resource. So, I just have to weigh the pros and cons when buying.
