What I love about the movie version is that no one celebrates Voldemort's death. Everyone is just so tired, traumatized and grieves their losses
Really? So much for an not ending, let alone the end of the war, don’t you think that at least warrants a little celebration?
@@SuperMoviemaster21 Of course they could celebrate but have you seen people coming back from a war? Most people don't celebrate, they're still in shock and can't believe that it's over. They have to process things
@@Rathian03 Still though, they did it in the book after all :-) they could’ve at least had a reasonable use of both, as opposed to the overall movie being way too mopey, and dark to the point we literally cannot see a freaking thing!!!!!!!!! Which even worse is when it inspired literally most other movies to have their movies be horribly and abysmally coloured, Some even worse than what this abomination inspired for them, because it did so well, everyone else thought it had to copy it because everyone apparently for whatever psychotic reason liked it……
@@Rathian03 when did you see people coming back from a war? Lol talking like an expert. STFU!
@@SuperMoviemaster21I like the tone of the movie with it being sad and dreadful, this is the deathly hallows after all. But the color in this movie was godawful. Really the movies went headfirst into this color washed effect after Azkaban

Yeah. But I always felt like they should’ve at least let him keep the wand. IMO, I always felt like they didn’t do a good job of showing Harry’s power progression, because everything that he’s learned was really more advanced. Not really something dangerous that only he can do. I would’ve liked it if they had followed the anime style of power progression, to show us just how powerful Harry has become.

Although i prefer the ending of the books where Voldemort dies like a normal human and his body just lies there in the ground, i also like this approach it shows that voldemort split so much his soul that when there where no horrocruxes left he basically had nothing, what was left of him was just dust, a shadow of his former self…
as in, he had nothing human left inside, just a monstrous magical construct, filled with nothing but dark magic, hate and fear
Old Man Riddle?
You can't use magic if you have no soul. The wand flipped to the only living person it saw.

Voldemort turning to ash was perfect he was nothing but dust in the wind no soul just a shell
Personally I prefer how he dies in the book. Because it shows despite being an evil dark lord he was still a human being.
Nah, the books was better. He had a body and died
I’m still salty that we were robbed of the epic 3 vs 1 duel between Voldemort and McGonagall, Slughorn, and Kingsley. I was so proud of Horace for fighting to try and avenge Lily 🥹
The 7th book did this whole war insane for my brain and it was an epic war.
I wish the movie just copy and pasted.... but no =(
@@leandroagonzalez3 If I’m remembering correctly, he was also the one who rallied reinforcements and brought them to the second phase of the battle. What a good man
@@leandroagonzalez3Movie made some questionable decisions. Like why cut out Fred’s death scene entirely and just show his corpse? If anything I was hoping the movie would show MORE than the book, like the deaths of Lupin and Tonks maybe, considering it was a 2 part movie and movies have more freedom to show scenes away from the protagonist whereas books have to stay centered on Harry.
Instead, they added that weird scene of Neville soloing 200 Death Eaters through pure luck which was… interesting.
Still a great movie regardless.
@@SJ-di5zu the one part of the movie battle I preferred was Neville killing Nagini during Harry’s duel with Voldemort. In the book Neville killed Nagini before Harry jumped out of Hagrid’s arms and cast a spell to prove he was still alive.
It makes way more sense for Harry to use his mastery of the Elder Wand to finish off Voldemort once and for all the moment Harry realizes he has that opportunity
I missed the dialogue between Harry and Voldy. You don't learn do you Riddle, you dare, yes I dare. That would have been cool.
I love the fact both great Wizards but they went hand to hand combat like two drunkards outside Walmart.
Beautifully shows how much they hate eachother.
0:45 for me this is my favorite scene. You can really feel the fear Voldemort causes just from the thought of being somewhere near hunting you. And then you realize he was never there, as you can see him in the next scene just appearing with no clue of where Harry is. It was all just Harry's imagination.
wow that's a really great insight so interesting!
Literal fog of war.
if they had remained loyal to the book and transitioned back into a crowd for the final fight after they flew around the castle, and had voldemort die in an underwhelming and average way, this scene would have been 10/10 scrumptious
But instead we got this over the top Hollywood garbage
@@nathanrudd2327never complaining, this was perfect
@@Alexander-wq7qo the book ending was perfect
who the hell cares which ending they used? they're both perfect in their own ways.
I think how Voldemort died and turned to ash while suffering showed us his fate worse then death was well done. But I still wished the battle was like in the books.
Voldemort hyperventilating from 0:14 - 0:28 will always be hella funny 🤣
As much as I like it, it misses the whole point of how Tom Riddle died. He didn't disintegrate, he didn't bust into a cloud of magic dust, he simply dropped dead like everyone he ever killed showing that in the end, he wasn't this all powerful almighty dark lord, he was just a man with exceptional talent but even the most talented can't beat death in the end no matter how hard they may try
@1:30 the way harry deflects voldemorts death spell is so awesome. Harry truly is a very strong wizard❤
He really isn't if you read the books. He has some natural ability, but overall he's a pretty mediocre wizard. Almost all of his victories are attributed to luck or to forces more powerful than himself
@@jordanashton5879 I mean you arent wrong but if you think about it....none of them are. Ignoring plot armor, no actual student (even a 7th year) should be able to stand against a death eater, a fully grown wizard with more magical knowledge and killing intent (only so far disarming, protrego and stupefy could get you lol). What I think the comment is referencing is that Harry is naturally stronger than his peers in terms of strength....the reason why he hasn't shown any consistent displays of that ability is because he is after all, still a teenager and hasn't had the chance to fully you know realize his potential ....but i mean fighting off like 100 dementors with a corporeal patronous at 13 is no normal feat (i am assuming...i'm no wizard haha). The books paint a better picture of showing each of the golden trio's strengths and weakness. I haven't been updated with the canon is ages but didn't he become head auror (source was Pottermore I believe, don't even know if thats still a thing haha).
@@jordanashton5879 More powerful than average, but ofc he was not able to compare with great wizards. Without Voldemort powers within, he fought with death eaters, and thanks to other characters, he possess wide spectrum of magical knowledge. He was lucky, that great wizards was near him and improves his own power, abilities and knowledge. His father was powerful wizard, his mother also(knowledge and ability to use very old protection magic). Mediocre wizards cant do that.
Those aren't killing curses Voldemort is throwing, they are less powerful curses. The Killing Curse cannot be blocked, deflected, shielded or survived in any way (apart from Lily Potter's love)
@sagesigman8269 isnt according to the books where the fight between Dumbledore and voldemord. Dumbledore took statues to block the killing curse. Thus kinda like deflected or blocked in a way ?
One of the things I love about this scene is the expression of Lucius, right before he says to himself "Nah FO bro my family is more important than your war." The fight is much more grandused in the movie, different from the book of course but good. Just too bad the final stand wasn't in the great hall in front of everybody. When Harry says "Come on Tom. People dont realise how Voldemort died in the book was way better than this. In the book he is portrayed that in the end he was nothing more than human. In the movie version you are lead to believe he was more than a human, almost like a mythical creature.
Also in the book Voldemort was fighting like 3-4 people at once and when Harry killed him everyone left standing was watching them, way better.
The one part of the movie version I prefer is Neville destroying Nagini during Harry and Voldemort’s duel to make Voldmort mortal. In the book: Neville destroys Nagini before Harry jumps out of Hagrid’s arms and casts a spell to prove he’s alive
Also he pretty much lectures Voldemort before killing him, calling him “Tom,” telling him Snape never served him after he killed Lily, how the Elder Wand belonged to Harry, not him, and telling Voldemort to just show some remorse.
No, plenty of people realize it because book readers like yourself won’t shut the f*ck up about it and tell everyone about it first chance they get.
Look, I won’t say the movie version is superior to the book by any means but let’s stop pretending the book version is some perfect peak conclusion. Amongst a myriad of other things, the fact that everyone just stands around and watches Voldemort and Harry chat is absurdly stupid.
Visually it wouldn't hv been good
Voldemort didn’t die because of Harry. Thanos snapped at the same time.
Except for Voldy strapping Harry, the rest of the fight scene is great. This scene proves that though Harry is not so talented unlike Voldemorte, Harry's natural magical strength is exceptionally high as he was able to duel with Voldemorte face to face for multiple times
Voldermort could have killed Harry 3 times but decided to just push and throw him
Just to get Harry to lure him to an edge and jump off with him
Actually: Harry won his duel with Voldemort after Nagini was killed by Neville because Harry was the true master of the Elder Wand. Therefore the Elder Wand refused to kill its true master and Voldemort’s killing curse rebounded back onto him as a result
@CraigMcGuinn and they never really talked or showed that in the movie did they? ...
The movies were good up to goblet of fire
@@leandroagonzalez3actually: Harry explained to Ron and Hermoine how he was the true master of the Elder Wand in the final scene before the “17 years later” part
Snape: "YOU CAN'T APPARATE OR DISSAPPARATE IN THIS CASTLE!"
Voldemort: "And I took that personally"
and Dumbledore sitting in the corner laughing silently
This scene just doesn't sit well for me. In the books, Harry is practically invincible after being brought back. He faced death with courage, and was rewarded for it. Nothing scares him anymore. Nothing can hurt him anymore. Remember how he didn't even feel the pain from the Cruciatus curse Voldemort cast on his supposedly lifeless body? That's the whole point.
Whereas in the movie Voldemort still smacked him and kicked him around during the Battle of Hogwarts. Also Harry not mentioning the "flaw in the plan" just before their final clash of spells.
Also Harry snapping the Elder Wand, the Deathstick, the wand worthy of the conqueror of death, quite possibly the most powerful magical instrument there is, like a freaking twig, and tossing it off the bridge. That one really irked me.😅
I actually prefer Harry snapping the Elder Wand instead of leaving it where it had already been stolen and making the first wizard to disarm Harry of his wand the master of the Elder Wand
@@CraigMcGuinn My point is, how do you PHYSICALLY break a legendary wand imbued with extraordinarily powerful magic? That thing has withstood the test of time for hundreds of years without showing signs of wear and tear, and all it takes is the strength of a lanky teenage boy to snap it in half? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Also, the wand saved Harry from Voldemort. TWICE. It is the primary reason he won the war. To destroy it after it's all over just seems... ungrateful? Especially when the wand is implied to have some degree of sentience.
Your reasoning does makes sense though. Harry shouldn't destroy the wand (simply because it should be INDESTRUCTIBLE by default) but he can't just put it on the headmaster's desk and leave. He still has the responsibility to protect it (or, as Dumbledore stated, to protect others from it) until the day he dies.
@@abohsukampretsimple. because no one ever attempted to. Considering Harry was the true master of the elder wand at the end, it makes sense how he was able to snap it in half.
@@abohsukampretI mean it is JUST a stick, and he's the Master of it.
@@abohsukampret Even if Harry Potter went on to protect others from the Elder Wand while he remained its true master until the day he died: wouldn’t the first wizard to find the Elder Wand after Harry’s death become the new master of the Elder Wand?
As Ollivander told Harry Potter in his own shop before Harry even set foot in Hogwarts for the first time: the wizard doesn’t choose the wand, the wand chooses the wizard.
So why would that principle not apply to the Elder Wand if its previous master died without another wizard killing or disarming them?

Do people who only watched the movies even get how Voldemort died? The whole point is that the wand isn't going to kill its master so it rebounds. But that's not so obvious here since it just kind of goes back into the wand.
Nope. People who only watched movies don’t know a lot of stuff. Like in order of Phoenix - the talk between Dumbledore and Harry which explains like everything - if only to the movie, I would have no idea what all of this was about. The movies are so stupid. I am actually waiting for this new things. Maybe the books will be more respected.
@@Ant802Or you expect too much. you can't put every detail from a book into a movie, there's time and schedule issues that can prevent it. And besides, the movies can handle certain things a lot better than the books.
@@liamgreat8024 Not to mention that it is incredibly difficult to dump that much exposition without, well, dumping a lot of exposition. It's a limitation of the media, which in itself forces different and creative approaches.
I admit I'm one of those that had only watched the movies when these came out and I didn't quite understood that whole "Elder wand ownership" deal or that even related to the fact that the spell rebounds and it's what actually kills Voldemort. I had assumed it was him being weakened after Nigiri dies, which might be what the filmmakers were actually going for.
Sure they do. Harry literally explains it to Ron and Hermoine on the bridge later.
@@Ant802 Harry Potter book readers, LotR book readers, y'all are all the same. Books and movies are two different medians. If you tried to squeeze every detail from a book into a movie, that movie would be 12 hours long. The movies were great, you can keep your books and continue being disappointed by movies not meeting your unrealistic expectations.
I adore the books as much as anyone else but I’m tired of hearing people complain about Harry and Voldemort’s final duel and that it wasn’t in front of a hall of people to view their fight and overhear their conversation. That works in a book format, but on film that doesn’t translate so well. So I understand why they differed from the book. Voldemort is only one Horcrux away from death. His immortality is on the line, and his greatest enemy just won’t die. It doesn’t make sense why he would waste time having a conversation with Harry in the middle of a heated battle. He’d want to just kill Harry and be done with him. Otherwise them conversing takes away from the tension of the scene. I do agree that Voldemort should’ve dropped dead and experienced the death of a human. But this is also satisfying and works well with the style of magic the films portrayed.
Saw this in the cinema in 3D it was epic

1:28 how I wish in the FBTSoD the duel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore will be furious like this..
I would argue Voldemort is more powerful than Grindelwald. Thanks for sharing! 🙏🙏🙏
I love how some of the Death Eaters are like “Nope, we saw the killing curse hit Harry Potter and we’re definitely seeing that he survived it - for a second time. Not even gonna wait to find out how that was possible. Time to bounce!”
I love how Voldy put hands on Harry 😂😂
I wonder what would happen if someone just pulled out a 1911 in a wizard dual.
They’d probably deflect the bullets
@@shadowmaster8684 the median human reaction time is ~.3 seconds, and there's no indication in the Harry Potter universe that wizards and witches have significantly faster reactions. In that time, a .45 ACP will cover anything between 100 and 200 metres, depending on bullet weight. Average wizarding duels always seem to happen at much shorter range, in the order of 20-30 metres tops. This means that the guy with the 1911 could absolutely canoe the guy with the pointy stick.
@@pixelghostclyde8717yeah lol the hp guys are pretty weak tbh
Ok, this has been driving me crazy for seven movies now, and I know you're going to roll your eyes, but hear me out: Harry Potter should have carried a 1911.
Here's why:
Think about how quickly the entire WWWIII (Wizarding-World War III) would have ended if all of the good guys had simply armed up with good ol' American hot lead.
Basilisk? Let's see how tough it is when you shoot it with a .470 Nitro Express. Worried about its Medusa-gaze? Wear night vision goggles. The image is light-amplified and re-transmitted to your eyes. You aren't looking at it--you're looking at a picture of it.
Imagine how epic the first movie would be if Harry had put a breeching charge on the bathroom wall, flash-banged the hole, and then went in wearing NVGs and a Kevlar-weave stab-vest, carrying a SPAS-12.
And have you noticed that only Europe seems to a problem with Deatheaters? Maybe it's because Americans have spent the last 200 years shooting deer, playing GTA: Vice City, and keeping an eye out for black helicopters over their compounds. Meanwhile, Brits have been cutting their steaks with spoons. Remember: gun-control means that Voldemort wins. God made wizards and God made muggles, but Samuel Colt made them equal.
Now I know what you're going to say: "But a wizard could just disarm someone with a gun!" Yeah, well they can also disarm someone with a wand (as they do many times throughout the books/movies). But which is faster: saying a spell or pulling a trigger?
Avada Kedavra, meet Avtomat Kalashnikova.
Imagine Harry out in the woods, wearing his invisibility cloak, carrying a .50bmg Barrett, turning Deatheaters into pink mist, scratching a lightning bolt into his rifle stock for each kill. I don't think Madam Pomfrey has any spells that can scrape your brains off of the trees and put you back together after something like that. Voldemort's wand may be 13.5 inches with a Phoenix-feather core, but Harry's would be 0.50 inches with a tungsten core. Let's see Voldy wave his at 3,000 feet per second. Better hope you have some Essence of Dittany for that sucking chest wound.
I can see it now...Voldemort roaring with evil laughter and boasting to Harry that he can't be killed, since he is protected by seven Horcruxes, only to have Harry give a crooked grin, flick his cigarette butt away, and deliver what would easily be the best one-liner in the entire series:
"Well then I guess it's a good thing my 1911 holds 7+1."
And that is why Harry Potter should have carried a 1911.
@@seraph5765Are all Americans this funny? or You deserve special credit my boy?
I'm surprised by the negative meaning that Voldemort, the best sorcerer in the world after Dumbledore, died to a bunch of kids. He could literally get whole Hogwarts on knees if he wanted, but by a few stupid mistakes, he literally destroyed himself.
Grindewald was much more powerful. Harry Potter needs to be redesigned, especialy this movie. Rowling will work on HBO series, 1 entire season - 1 book. I think after so many years she will change everything, including this fight (totaly different as in book).

I like to think that when Harry grabbed Tom and pushed both of them off the building, Voldy's first thought would be "Sweet Merlin this kid is nuts"
This was when the entire plot broke. Everything hinges on the elder wand being loyal to Harry. In the book, after Harry comes back, the only spell Voldemort fires at him is the killing curse that backfires. Here, he uses multiple spells, including avada kedavra, and they all work until the very end when it doesn’t.
when you realize that the one of the most powerfull wizards faild to kill a kid... twice
Wouldn't it be more like 6 or more times:
He tried to kill harry as a baby - failed (dies himself)
He tried to have a minion kill him in philosopher's stone - failed (turns to ash when a preteen harry simply touches him)
He tried to have the serpent of slytherin kill him - fails ( snake dies and his...ghost... is destroyed because harry stabs his book )
He tried to kill him mono e mono in goblit of fire (harry simply nopes out)
He could have had him killed in order of the Phoenix, but in his undeserved arrogance just decided to play mind games.
Then he thought he killed harry but it turns out that he just destroyed the horcrux connection. and he only accomplished that because harry jusy stood there. harry then just brushes off his shoulders and be like, "that's the best you got?"
Then, finally, Harry kills him (more like voldy's spell backfired.)
Oversimplified for comedic purposes
Jeez, if i were voldy, i'd have egg on my face and be feeling inadequate NOT carrying myself around all gassed up. He must have one hell of a motivational tape collection.
So i guess 4 attempts to kill Harry, himself. then, he tried to have someone do the dirty work for him 3 or 4 more times.

Elder Wand: Lol no f*ck you.
02:23 Voldemort got him..
When i first saw this scene i said voldemort finally got what he deserved for all the people he killed
I'm so disappointed we never saw the "why do you live?" clip in the actual movie... It would fit really well.
whyd you cut out the part where neville kills nagini
I didnt remember the battle was so long in the movies
Just noticed that Harry refers to Snape as Professor Snape which he never did and shows how his level of respect for Snape's bravery
the blip before the blip
How did you get more image? The film was shot 2.40:1 I thought, so how is there more picture on the top and bottom. It’s not been cropped, I did a comparison and can see there’s more. I’m completely fascinated by that
That's true, it has more image up and down. I have all Harry Potter and Narnia films on that format 😊
@@ajpvcreations Omg no way!! How is that possible? I saw it in IMAX and there weren’t any IMAX scenes
@@ajpvcreations I’d absolutely love to watch all the Harry Potter’s in that format if you can guide me to how I can! 😃
One of the tropes I hate in fiction is how the "good" side always has to cheat to win. A huge theme in HP is that good triumphs over evil because it is more powerful. And then they fucking cheat to win against Voldemort. Harry and Voldy needed a Neo/Smith fight in this sequence. Straight up test of skill and will. No cheating. No deus ex machina. No convenient plot point. Harry should have battled him and straight up obliterated him because good triumphs over evil.
It's just cheap after 7 books to have Voldemort kill himself because he just happened to not think of something that was obvious to everyone else.
Dont you think harry as ben through enough to be slapped around like that tho? Can't we just think about at for a sec?
2:38 if u think about thats probably the only or one of the few times voldemort has used physical h2h combat in his life . He really hated that teenagers guts
Typical mage build. Voldemort's melee attacks are weak.
mage has no durability
Harry be like this will be ur end Vol:I have dementors Harry:we have noses
One thing we can say for sure in the magic world, you have to be SO pissed at someone to resort to your fists intead of magic,Tom was playing a muggle sport called tennis on Harry,he used his backhand and forehand on harry's face 🤣
