@@LemonGoofball And so was the movie scene. I'm just sad they couldn't fit in the whole book dialogue. It still is one of my favourite chapters in the whole series and The Halfblood Prince is my favourite out of all the books. I couldn't tell you how many times I have read it and listened to the audiobook. Probably around 30 times at least.
I always held a low opinion of the movies vs the books. This is the scene where I began to think maybe they aren't that bad after all. In my opinion this and the Harry-Luna scenes are the best ones in all movies.
The look Broadbent gives when Harry declares that without help Lily will have died for nothing is absolute masterclass stuff

One of the few scenes I prefer over the one from books. Books one was obviously good but I think we were constantly focusing on narration(atleast I was), here we actually got to see it without knowing what Harry was thinking and some extra things too.
Didnt the potion also helped him get a girlfriend and help others en route to Hagrid's?

I think just in general the scene is probably best done in the movie rather than the book.

Absolutely fantastic scene, Dan delivers one of his best performances of all the movies. Music is on point too, perfectly capturing the whimsical state of mind Harry is in. Shame about the photography, it’s all brown and green when it could have been so much richer. David Yates’ stylistic choices left a lot to be desired tbf.
I still think it is just a placebo effect instead of actual liquid luck.

And then how the 'fang' falls off when he goes to get the venom in the vial. I feel like that was a prop malfunction that worked well because they kept going with it. Perfect for the professors character. Almost like everyone Harry encounters has had all their luck transferred to Harry.

I also assumed there are drawbacks from repeated drinking (addiction definitely comes to mind as one of them)
Harry did give his closest friends liquid luck in the final battle (in the books). Magic also tends to favour the good as a general rule so I doubt it would’ve been effective for voldemort’s army.
