Evolution Advance Review (using Sizzix plates)

Hi guys I wanted to share how I use my Sizzix plates on the Evolution Advance. I purchased my machine from Tuesday Morning for 39.99! The plates and the evolution advance work together beautifully! You can use your magnetic platform, cuttlebug plates, Sizzix plates, precision plates ect..

I want to share. I bought this product, a month later the Mat " B " became very crooked, but today I solved the problem... It turned out very simple... Take a large pot of water and heat, but do not boil, put in hot water. .. he became soft... after a while pulled out and the other end was lowered into the water... he straightened up and immediately put it on the table, on a rag, and on top of it put a flat Board... and then put the cargo on top...I have a box of my husband's screws and nails... or other heavy metal ... When the Mat " B " is cold, it will be smooth as new ! My name is Nadezhda, Russia, Yaroslavl.

I do have a tip for you too: slide the platforms towards the machine to lock them. And slide them back to the outside to unlock them and then you can fold them upwards to store the machine.
2 years later.....I'm watching your info packed review. I saw one at Tuesday Morning last week and am so mad I didn't grab it at the time. This TM was 1 hr and 15 minutes from me and near our son's specialist so Ill be back next week with my fingers crossed. TFS!
This was a great review! I love this machine! I have been using a Big Kick express since 2010 and although it still works great, my space is limited so I would have to go into another room to die cut. I love how compact the Evolution is and I can now die cut at my desk.
I also wanted to add that I was able to die cut my TH rosettes strip die using this machine with the Evolution plates and set the dial to an 8, works perfectly! Thanks again for sharing!

Oh, yes, that was helpful Gloria! It is good to know what plates fit because when one company stops making plates, we can still buy others. It was good to see the machine in action and how the plates don't make that cracking sound - I would guess that is better for keeping the plates longer. I still have yet to buy a magnetic plate - the reviews are mixed and so I didn't know which one to get or whether to try to make one. Thanks for all your help - you are appreciated! :)

I've had one for a while love it. I even have the motor you can attach to the side and take off the handle.

I was able to get one at Tuesday morning too. I sold my Cuttlebug and all the plates, a rubber mat including the long plates to a crafty friend which paid for my machine. I still I have Big Kick though.

Thanks for taking the time to share this informative video. Already own the CricutAir Explorer but I can see how useful a portable die cutter tool is great for quick projects on the go & luv how it folds up for storing in small places. Been shopping around for best prices & quality machines. Amazing deal you got for this machine! I think you sold me on the versatility. not sure if any one mentioned but if you push the two sides into the machine while they are open (flat) you will get your suction. great video. hope i explained it clear

Thanks for the review. I didn't like the platform and cutting plate that came with my evolution so I have been using sizzix platform and plates. I thought I was the only one. I haven't had any issues and I love being able to adjust the height of the rollers.

Thanks for this info, but i just received my Evolution Embosser, it's an updated version, i'm excited to start using it, but once out of the box, i already have an issue, i don't know how to open up the drawers, they are locked in place i see the up & down arrows, how do i get the drawers to open i can't get to the handle & the side knob doesn't turn easily at all like it shows on any reviews, also the one i got is white not the grayish silver i was expecting, i'd appreciate your help, thanks a bunch.

THANK YOU so much for this review and showing all the plates! Amazing to see it all work and yes, I have wondered the same thing about why they do not want us to combine the machine and the plates......I think it is a marketing thing! hehe!
I have had my eye on this for over a year and been struggling to get some very intricate dies cut right on my old Cuttlebug, and I will be buying this soon for sure and yes even get that precision plate too, as I think it would be great, for those dies. If for no other reason would be to have a shorter set of plates.
Have you gotten the motor, I see the price on Amazon has come down quite a bit, blessings and thanks so much!

Very informative! What do you use the rubber mat for? I have the machine and just can't figure out what the rubber mat is!

This is awesome, I think the main reason people say that they cant work together is because Sizzix plates size is 6 1/8 inches width and Evolution says it's size it's only 6 inches width.... So in theory they shouldn't fit

What about intricate dies?
Wonderful review. Thanks for trying your other plates and sharing them. I was surprised that you can use the precision base plate with evolution. Is it the same as a chrome precision plate? I was told by sizzix not to use them with this machine.

The Evolution Advanced is the only die cutting machine I've had (and I love it). That being said, I've been eyeing a few Sizzix Bigz dies on clearance at JoAnn Fabric, but I don't know if they'll work with the EA, or how to use them. Have you tried using them in the EA? How are they normally "sandwiched"? All I have are the mats that came with the EA. TFS!
just watched someone try a bigz who was seeing on a cheat sheet to put in the EA embossing pad in the sandwich, and makes no sense but she stacked it with the embossing pad on top of the bigz, not cool....but I would think using 2 Cuttlebug B plates might be something to think about cuz those blades are hidden and will cut.
i got one at Tuesday Morning a few months ago. Do you know if you can cut bigz dies with it? i have several i want to cut. Thanks.
notebookluvr yes you can cut the bigz Dies I use my sizzix or cuttlebug plates and it cuts fine

notebookluvr I'm not really sure because it depends on what plates you have and what materials you are trying to cut...you will have to try it out... you will need the bigz die and 2 cutting pads

Thanks for sharing. I was disappointed that the evolutions platform showed the cuts I thought it said self healing mats but I use my sizzix platform also. Just got a magnetic playform. What's the difference between the precision plate and the magnetic?
504 PrettyThings the precision plate is meant to be cut into its very hard and can help cut the intricate designs..there is probably not much difference in them
Oh so it doesn't get all messed up like the clear plates?
504 PrettyThings nope not at all it's very hard and you can't even see cuts on it at all when you use it it doesn't warp or anything

504 PrettyThings you will still need a clear plate for the top.. you use it as your do not cut plate and the precision plate as the cut into plate you know they got to make it so we still spend some money 😂😂
The die blades stuck into the cutting mat. Had to use screwdriver and hammer and boiling water to get it out of the mat. What a mess. Had to throw the die in the garbage. Won't try that again!
Must have had it turned up too far. Never happened with mine and I have had machine for 2 years.
