@@fightingirish8584 no, i did bricklaying few years ago but inly for a year. So i learnt the basics and technique. But i am starting an apprenticeship that has to do with roadworks and i think construction sites.
It is VERY rewarding to see a project from start to finish. I started as a pipelayer doing storm pipe and moved into operating heavy equipment within a year. As I moved out of utilities into heavy dirt work as an operator, I can tell you every project you do is rewarding. Eventually as I became a Superintendent, the stress & responsibilities increase but it is worth every minute of it.
Is the same as being a general contractor ? I’ve worked with my dad on Residential homes remodeling them & I’m trying to study that in college but I don’t know if I’m about to apply for the right thing or not..

No there is a construction management program both bachelors and masters. Do that you’ll start as assistant site super or project coordinator. Then you’ll have to climb the ranks
I did it in 4 years i did not know how to di anything and started in dry wall in 4 years i got to a superintendent position for a comercial general construction company
Good construction superintendents are worth there weight in gold especially if they can move projects forward toward completion
I couldn't agree more.
Thank you! Great insight into the position. Must watch for people looking into a job like this.
I am a commercial construction superintendent in San Diego, CA. I love my job. Started from a labor, carpenter.
Is it hard?
@@ajharmiah2692 it has its challenges, but with experience and having a good team, makes it easier.

Sounds incredibly stressful yet rewarding.

I want to go into construction management, but could I start off as a construction superintendent then work up to project manager?
4 years university for Bachelors in Construction Management.
PM and CS are on the same level, some senior superintendents earn more than project managers.
Superintendent isn't entry level
You can obtain a CCM cert. with some experience you may be able to supplement that for a degree
whats the song ?
What if you are already a crew leader would it be recommended or would it be a good idea to become a track home superintendent?
Great video, Thx! Whats the best way to break into the field with limited experience?
Airport Chronicle's get experience
