surviving to 7 death doors and managing to avoid almost all the fights thanx to a critical scouting straight at the beginning... Hmm you my friend are blessed by RNGsus himself
LezOrg this literally just happened to me. I had the whole dungeon (giant square) mapped out in like 2 seconds. Had to fight one group then the swine king lmao I feel like RNGesus took pity on me losing like 6 level 6 guys in my last three missions...
And then there's my flagellant who had two death resist increasing items, and who was buffed to have extra death resist. Who dies the first time he's ever hit at death's door. Huh.
“Hey guys here’s this sick new hero I came up with” “Holy shit he’s too good how the fuck do we balance this?” “Lol just make his health super low” “But he gets stronger the lower his health is” “Yes” “And Stress makes him stronger” “Yes” “And his Mortality debuff is actually a buff” “Yes” “And he can transfer teammates’ bleed status to himself, further buffing him” “Yes” “...” “But you can only have 1 of him per party” “...Yeah seems fair”
Never underestimate the hunger check (Bloody tapeworm). Also it may be a case that if the fight ends with flag at 0hp he would use the food to prevent unlucky instant deathblow combo. However since he only had a single enemy encounter, and that ended at full hp he didn't need to take that precaution.
I wonder if taking down Wibur first would be a better option. The flagellant can exsanguinate the swine king every turn and avoids Wibur's low damage at death's door.
Imagine this from the other heroes point of view: The other heroes probably tried to kill the Swine King and failed miserably. When they came back they prepared to go out to try again, and while they still prepared, nobody noticed the Flagellant had alredy set out to kill the thing... all by himself... They were just about to enter the Warrens when they see him drenched in his own blood, slamming the gate open. He just smiles at them, because that was just fucking insane.
Having high HP/self healing and extremely high deathblow resist is such an OP combo. On paper, AND in practice its just too powerful. Instead of being a glass cannon bleed machine, the flagellant is.... EVERYTHING. Healer, dps, tank, stress healer...
When the wolves were at the door mission was available, I got a level 0 flag to take the bullet and die so I wouldn’t get the consequences of ignoring the mission. He almost beat wvulf surviving over 15 death door checks in a row.
If you're going to do that again, swap out Rain of Sorrows for something else before the bossfight. The last thing you need is for the affliction ruining your day by choosing something foolish.
As funny as it is, I genuinely did learn a bit from this. I saw you went to the entrances of hallways then immediately left and wondered why, but I realized that it's to grab any curios by the entrance which is clever as hell and I'm doing that from now on
The attack doesn't trigger if you have 3 or less members the first time and two members or less the second time. Still, good luck with the bosses BEFORE the Heart if you only take two party members.
But the Darkest Dungeon is four separate missions Just need to take two in the last one In fact, the four-phased final boss is much easier than the first Darkest Dungeon mission!
its that one PC that shows up to D&D who is so toxic nobody in the party wants to play with them, but power games like a mad bastard and does 90% of the damage.
Actually chance is only 11%. But with Martyr's Seal chance of surviving 7 death's doors would be 32%. Furthermore with right combination of quirks (Hard skinned, Tough, +15% stun resistance) and trinkets (Martyr's Seal and +33% healing Junia's head) this fight would be almost none RNG dependant.
This is incorrect. Deaths Door caps at %87 so adding more deathblow resistance than that is useless. You just got lucky or didn't get unlucky here, i have lost a flag on his first deaths door check and seen many others had the same, just because you can work the odds in your favour by not getting screwed doesn't mean Flag is OP he is just fine.
Flag is fine? He is clearly, obviously OP. No other class can do things like this fight. Flag has great DPS, great healing skills, herewith he has stress heals and he can tanking. No other class can do all this things at the same time.
Agreed, currently there is ZERO reason to not bring a flagellant. If your team could bring a flagellant, your bringing a flagellant. With their insane healing, solo capability, very strong bleeds, their deaths door resist AND the fact that they suffer no consequences for being in deaths door (instead they get buffed) you MIGHT AS WELL bring one. And if he dies, don't worry about it, your party will get healed and the enemy gets stunned as an extra effect of him dying, BECAUSE FLAGELLANT.
Pre nerf Flagellant was a fucking menace, sure, but it was fun, and it was a dlc, you could just disable it. I paid for it because I thought his abilities were fun, but now they nerfed all the best parts, even the tiniest details that made him fun to play. He's no fun anymore, and the only reason he's still viable, is because he deals so much fucking bleed damage with his melee attack.
watching this while having 3 flagellant in the grave all of them perished in thier second or first death doors while equiped with DD resist trinkets what an unfair universe
