Me: pines over trinkets, spends weeks stalling to optimize quirks, and spends a fortune on assorted quest resources, and will still have a 50-50 chance of not coming back and loosing four heroes. TVS: "Give me a leper, some blood, some crystals, and an empty hallway, and I'll take care of your eldritch horror 'problem' ".
Leper is an absolute unit and watching him annihilate all in his path is amazing lmao, in fact i’m fairly sure he can solo every single boss or dungeon which is hilarious

To be fair, beating necro isn’t necessary to win since the DDs are available from the start, but Leper can still solo him by using Withstand and getting 80% prot, and just spamming Intimidate till he drops. Stress isn’t even an issue since you can virtue cheese in earlier fights and just let stress get reset once it reaches 200. I think i’ve even seen a video of it actually.
Funny story: did the first courtyard quest with leper, bounty hunter, plague doctor and vestal. Long story short: crocodilian battle and leper and BH got virtues (focused for leper and stalwart for BH) and everyone else died. Best part is BH was on death's door after the fight and leper still had like 80% health left
around 18:13 when you unequip his abilities the leper changes to a flesh creature did you edit that in or does the game do that to creep the player out
I think the game does that, for example when you choose a mission, if you click the mission icon a bunch sometimes you'll see tentacles flashing on the screen, it also happens when buying provisions. It scared the shit out of me the first time it happened lol
The creepy animations happen when you have visited the “darkest dungeon” and continue for that save file for as long as you play. It’s supposed to represent seeing reality how it really is - normal reality is a glamour cast by the heart to prevent us from seeing the madness that is our existence.
2 lepers, even easier, 3 or 4 lepers, actually harder because you can’t stall anymore - the game will summon creatures every couple rounds and mess up the mojo. Of course, 3 of them could just die and the last one finishes it. Afflictions are also harder to deal with - you want all 4 to be virtuous but the 3 afflicted dudes will keep saying horrifying things stressing out the one who was virtuous until they lose the virtue. Basically the game is designed to mess with you at 4 person parties, a lot of that goes away when you solo, which is what makes these solo runs possible.
Idk how far I''m at the game, I just got a Houndmaster at lvl 5, so I guess I'm far to understand this. I'll come back later to see if I learn something. I ever knew Leper was busted btw.
You... uh, uh you can change equipped skills on missions while not in combat? Are you f***ing kidding me I have more than two hundred hours in this game and I didn't know that! I've abandoned countless quests because I was like "ah shit I brought the vestal with the front line abilities, no healing I guess"! Come on!

@@GGorsty Its because its a scripted map that also isn't as hard ad the second darkest dungeon mission. This all would have been impossible without the 2 peaceful bois at the start.

you can even switch them while starting a room fight (press c button while entering a room) and be able to switch skills and trinkets. Not too impactful outside of endless bosses and ambushes though, but you can pull off some shenanigans with QuickDrawCharm, use it for the speed roll then take it off.
