Really hits home with me. I'm 61 years old, and I've been around long enough to witness what the evolution of time has done to this country. My other five brothers and I grew up on a farm in Texas, hauling hay and pulpwood to help our father make ends meet. We worked the farm and the land, hunted our own meat, grew our own vegetables, etc. A simple life, if you will. It's not so simple anymore. I've really enjoyed your music, Dax. I was a hospice nurse for many years. Took care of every patient like they were my own family. Many nights, I would cry myself to sleep because each one of them took a little piece of me with them. I'm grateful for the life experiences I had with each patient. But now retired. I see the toll it took on my body and heart. Because of my faith in God, i knew I was where I needed to be. I had to double check your name after reading that. Those words could've literally come from my mom, a hospice nurse for 35 years or so. I saw first hand what they do, and also saw the difference they make, as evidenced by the flowers and cards of appreciation often on our kitchen table, sent from the families. The only disagreement I have with you is those patients didn't each take a piece of you. They each ADDED a piece! Thank you for a life of service. I know hospice nurses get paid far less than they could in other areas of nursing.

I work on a ranch with my grandpa full time, welding shop every other weekend and a diesel repair shop on the days I'm not welding or working for my grandpa. I've chosen to work as much as I can to avoid falling into the new world. This song SCREAMS how my grandpa has been seeing the world collapse. Congratulations Dax, you added to his song in a way that did not subtract from it and that's something very difficult for most artists to accomplish, for you to do so with a song that made such a powerful statement in its original version is something you should feel very good about.

Really hits home with me. I'm 61 years old, and I've been around long enough to witness what the evolution of time has done to this country. My other five brothers and I grew up on a farm in Texas, hauling hay and pulpwood to help our father make ends meet. I was a hospice nurse for many years. Took care of every patient like they were my own family. Many nights, I would cry myself to sleep because each one of them took a little piece of me with them. I'm grateful for the life experiences I had with each patient. But now retired. I see the toll it took on my body and heart. Because of my faith in God, i knew I was where I needed to be.

I had to double check your name after reading that. Those words could've literally come from my mom, a hospice nurse for 35 years or so. I saw first hand what they do, and also saw the difference they make, as evidenced by the flowers and cards of appreciation often on our kitchen table, sent from the families. The only disagreement I have with you is those patients didn't each take a piece of you. They each ADDED a piece! Thank you for a life of service. I know hospice nurses get paid far less than they could in other areas of nursing.

I don't usually care for remixed songs, I honestly felt Oliver Anthony said it all and said it about as perfect and heartfelt as it could be said.... I’m gonna be 50 years old, I grew up in foster care and a ward of the court. I have fought tirelessly to create a life for my kids. Always knowing that what I did was never good enough for my wife kids and society. But my goal was to simply make sure my kids life and outlook on life would be better than mine. No one gave me anything I have created my place in life my baby just went off to college. And I sit back and wonder where I am in life now what is next.. Your music speaks to me daily but I know a few things for sure.

You could literally feel the passion and belief that went into these lyrics. More people need to make content like this. There has been a culture war going on for the longest time, and those of us with common sense have sat back and let those without take the reins.
