    If you need a good commuter that you can also take camping and fishing where ever and when ever you like this is the perfect off road car.Cheap to run and cheap to buy,the Suzuki has always been a great off roader.

    So would you recommend this for a daily use car?? .. I don't do a lot of off road .. but most of my drives is in city and on highway 140 km per hour speed ..what do you think ?? I always loved this car since I was a child ..

    That is the first review I have seen with a towbar fitted, and I have a couple of issues with it, namely, it hangs far too low and back wiping out your departure angle (I know they are required to be made like this but still...) and secondly what are you going to tow using a Jimny? A shoe box?

    • @carsguide
      @carsguide  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      G'day R, Great point. It's hard to imagine the new Jimny being rated to tow much more than an empty box trailer or carry a bike rack. There's no mention of tow ratings in the press material, but we've sought answers from Suzuki. The car featured in the B-roll above with the towbar and nudge bar fitted, and the JBOX plates, I presume is actually the ARB test vehicle which has since been outfitted with a pile of prototype aftermarket gear. This particular footage was actually shot in December, but depicts the route and terrain we drove this week. I have a feeling this car was used for ADR certification, which could be why it's wearing the tow and nudge bars. Yep, the towbar does hang low and it does affect the departure angle. If it is available to buy, it'd probably be very welcome by those wanting to tow tinnies along the beach etc, where you don't need the epic departure angle. Cheers for thought though, Mal Flynn

      @@carsguide My inlaws used a 2stroke to tow 44gallon drums into the bush for the dozers, or bales of hay for the cattle, I'm afraid you people forget what they are designed for, bush first city slickers next, for the pose value, the country is where these cars shine, .......cant imagine what you could tow??? how naive.......

    • @carsguide
      @carsguide  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@reefer2917 I was referring to its potential rating, not its outright capability. I used to snatch bogged LandCruisers with mine, but I wouldn't want to see a Jimny towing one down the Hume! Hope that makes more sense. Cheers, Mal Flynn

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reefer the point I was trying to make is how much the towbar compromises some of the off road abilities of the vehicle, and how there are probably better things to use for towing anyway, and you chose to go on a rant about city slickers. Nice projecting, seeing as you know nothing about me, have fun with that.

      @Lilac Tortoise I believe back in the days the samurai was the US version of Sierra. In the American context, the zuk SAMURAI is nostalgically affiliated with the many Americans. Even to these days, Zook cultists have the same brain freeze reaction if someone mentioned the Zook SAMURAI (same with some Jeep guys but for a different reason) 😁

      Too expensive to justify as an off road only car. Value would only be there once they hit the used market below 15k. At 30k should be a good compromise between on road and off road I reckon.

    that tow bar addition is laughable, look how much ground clearance that eats up. Also you mentioned its easy to get out of the back seat. Yeah nah mate not true at all. I demo drove one on Australia day and the exit from passenger seat via the front was a squeeze and im a normal sized guy not caring 40kg extra like you are. so thats more proof you didnt really do much research on it. As for claming its not great for handling, yeah that will happen when you have such skinny tyres on a car with a high center of gravity. Common sense mate. your clutching at straws here

    • @carsguide
      @carsguide  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      C'mon BikeStuff, 40kg? Don't forget the camera adds 10 pounds (yes, 4.5kg). Compared with the old Zooks, rear seat access is a cinch. If it doesn't meet your expectations, that's cool though. This is very much a niche product. Cheers for your thoughts, Mal Flynn
