Taproot is such an under appreciated talent. They deserved so much more airplay than just poem.
Yep! :(
They did. This was played as well!
they are just cringe.
I thought Again & Again were their "big hit". I didn't even hear about Poem until 2020
A local station around me in the SF Bay area played a lot of their stuff. High school operated for many years.
We need music like this in 2023... it's so damn good!!!
They have a new album that’s worth a listen…
@@handsomerubeyeah agreed it's very good
I was 12, I heard Poem and immediately fell in love, but when I picked up the CD, I was a fan for life, and still am.
Yo
Fuck yeah
literally me, they've saved my life more times than i can probably fathom... peace brothers
I knew them when I heard of again and again
Vans and eyebrow rings amazing vocals and meaningful lyrics.. Yes let's go back
hahahahaha early 2000s nu-metal aka high school in a nutshell
This means soo much more in 2020!
would love too but i was at school in early 2000s and it was hell...
On the other hand, bleached soul patch and baggy mechanic clothing. Maybe only rewind 50%
@@skylarrweaver3239 Nah, bleached goatees and baggy clothing are badass too (if not-more badass). Rewind 100% and keep the culture ♾.
That chorus gives me chills
That verse harmony tho
The vocal harmonizing in this song is still amazing to me, my favorite of theirs
One of the few bands out there to match the AIC style harmonies!!
Chad Cassidy: The vocal harmonies are just soul touching. Definitely the nu-metal version of AIC.
exactly i was very moved by his vocal parts when he sings the mellow verses also i love the groove in those parts the guitar parts sound so melodic and beautiful in those parts. also in 2 parts at the ends of the verses where the singers sing together they sound just like alice in chains.
It helps this album was produced by Toby Wright, who produced AIC’s Jar of Flies and self-titled (aka Tripod). He really took their sound to the next level.
I agree amazing harmonizing
Still listening to Taproot in 2024! Taproot forever!
When that BPD hits
Fuck
I was best man at my buddy's wedding... Dedicated it to the couple... His wife was horrified lol... All I could see was my buddy mouthing,"just listen to the words" and her with a confused look on her face... You're welcome, Cass lol
Easter eggs
One of the most underrated bands from early 2000s. You're always in my playlist
The BEST taproot song ever
This song deserves way more views, definitely underrated.
Facts. Taproot are massively underrated. They make amazing hard rock. Glad I got to see them in 2006 in a small club. Miss my teens. 🤘🤘🤘
I can definitely change that...
The vocal melodies in this song are absolutely killer
I love the atmosphere of this song 🔥🔥
Still jamming to this in 2019!
Hell yeah!
The beats!
2021
NU-METAL is forever!!!!!
Not disagreeing but The same thing was said about disco
Unfortunately it's dead :( it lives in our hearts, but it's dead...I haven't found anything interesting in 2018-2019 that would be similar to early 2000s nu metal or alternative bands, so I keep coming back to the old tracks :(
@@Treychik technically there's still good nu metal. Cane Hill, Charcoal Tongue, My Ticket Home, Headcave (MTH's lead singer's other group), Ded, Afterlife, SHVPES, Into The Void, and Loser all have good songs close to the old school nu metal. Check out those bands if you want something close to this, I don't think you'll be disappointed
@@brandonfurtado2 youtube has the best way of giving people things they don't want...I DIDN'T GET NOTIFICATION OF YOUR REPLY!!! thank you for the list. Will check it out
@@mattheere2732 Disco was terrible you can't even compare it to Nu metal. Nu Metal paved the way for rock music in the 2000s and 2010s.
Mike DeWolf had such an incredible tone on this record.
The fact that Layne Staley was supposed to be featured on this album makes me so sad because he would’ve been amazing with Taproot
th-cam.com/video/EUilmds01zc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EbP-qoec7HomLuEx
I bought this CD back in '02 and still listen to it today!
Me too! Rock on!🤟
Theyre in my top 5 all time
2023 y sigo escuchándolo como si fuera la primera vez hace 10 años es increíble
Taproot should be huge. One of my faves
this song takes me back to being in school. sitting around with friends just having a good time. Great memories
Honestly, that's what our music was all about back in those days for us. Another example. Avril Lavigne - Complicated video. Just a bunch a kids chilling, cooling, and hanging out on a Saturday off from school ☺️.

Taproot is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE bands ever. They've done untold amounts of good for my soul. So thankful for their existence.
Still listening in 2020
I can hear a heavy Alice in Chains influence in this song.
Buzkilltheman hell yeah so dope
@Marcos XVI Taproot and AIC shared the same producer, so I certainly wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. I'm sure it has something to do with why the harmonics in the vocals are very Staley/Cantrell like.
@Kry Kry Stott Or 311 mixed with AIC.
Somehow all of your comparisons fits right Hahahah
Layne was supposed to do guest vocals on their debut album before he died..
vocals are just amazing. 2016 and I'm still rocking out to them...
Same! Lol Stephen Richards was my first obsession lol
,..,
Chamberkid97 bby ;) loool
Heather Conway they were "not metal" enough for some, or "too metal" for the limp Bizbit nu metallers..... At the time they were a blast of fresh noise.... These, At the Drive-In, Jane's Addiction ,Tool & System of a Down made guitar based music exciting again......
timeless. still rawkin taproot daily.
When I look into your eyes, you help me realign
Ensure me of just how to be myself inside
I'm in control of everything
It's taking time, but that's ok
I can bring you to my side
You're my blessing in disguise
You're mine (You're mine)
You're mine (You're mine)
You're my blessing in disguise
You make me realize
Just how and where I want to be
Years from now
When my focal point is set
I'm something I know I'll get
It's not a question of how but more of when
You are one commodity
The choice is mine and mine for keeps
I can bring you to my side
You're my blessing in disguise
You're mine (You're mine)
You're mine (You're mine)
You're my blessing in disguise
You make me realize
Just how and where I want to be
Years from now
When I look into your eyes, you help me realign
And show me just where my dedication lies
I'm in control of everything
It's taking toll, but that's ok
I can bring you to my side
You're my blessing in disguise
You're mine (You're mine)
You're mine (You're mine)
You're my blessing in disguise
You make me realize
Just how and where I want to be
Years from now
You're my blessing in disguise
You make me realize
Just how and where I want to be
Anyone here in 2023?
2024
2024
2k likes is an absolute shame. Taproot deserves so much more.
Cody Williamson 3.5 at the moment and I can’t believe it... Deserves so much more!!! This was posted in 2009. Almost 10 years later... When I searched it I couldn’t believe it. Deserves so much more!!!
6.4k now :D
Nu Metal will never Die!!!!
taproot has helped me in the last month. only being a freshman, they help a ton. it'll hurt more when my favorite senior will leave me behind. even though she may not even know, i love her. and i hope she'll do okay in the real world :(
What I love about this song is that, if you listen to the harmonies, I hear a strong Staley/Cantrell influence.
Done well.
but the screaming sounds like Chino Moreno from Deftones and Pete Loeffler from Chevelle
I miss this music
This is so clean, so tight. Always a stand out track for me.
Such an underrated band. Taproot made my teenager years.
Mine as well! Now 35 still waiting for their 7th album. 😥
Just saw them last night.... unbelievable show. Super nice guys too.
Who is listening to this amazing underrated nu metal band in 2021 ?
I never knew this song had a video even though I played it 24-7 back in the day!
Still listening in 2018😍😍Anyone else?
Nope just came her to comment............
Sure do 😉
2019 now.
This shit’s for life man!
19
nu metal never fails to break my neck
ReushK Payback by Flaw is the ultimate Nu Metal headbanger
Met these guys years ago after a Papa Roach show in Michigan. Some crazy ass guys, and well deserving of a recording contract. I think they came out at a bad time though, if they came out earlier, or even now, they wouldn't have disappeared.
Still holds up in 2022
cant wait to see these guys in October.
What a cool range of notes Taproot works with to this song. Great arrangements!
You’re miiiiiiine, YOU’RE MINE! … ❤️
Always ❤ Taproot of this era
These guys put on an amazing show with Janus and Seasons After... I knew every song they played, couldn't help but sit there and sing/scream along with them! Got autographs with every member in the band as well!
BANGER ACTIVATED LET'S GOOOO
Seen Taproot at Ozzfest 2001. Got a chance to meet them and get their autographs. Really down to earth
been trying to find this song for so long so glad I remembered it too much nostalgia
THIS SONG ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
Taproot = Greatness
Anyone one still jamming to this in 2020?
still one of my fav band, listen to this album very often :)
2021
The early 2000s were amazing for rock fans. Honestly until recently I never realized the split in genres. Taproot was Nu-Metal, Simple Plan and New Found Glory were Pop Punk, Godsmack was post grunge, My Chemical Romance and Hawthorne Heights were emo but I never differentiated any of them. I just loved rock. And still do. AND miss seeing it on the Grammys now with this new wave of music they call rap? At least Snoop Dogg and Eminem and Dre and them had it bearable. This new stuff? We gotta go back
Forget the grammys. There's also good contemporary rock.
all the good crap cane out then
New Bring Me The Horizon EP sounds like they're going for a revival of sorts, check out Teardrops!
Well said. Even though I like a lot of modern rap as well. So...lol
Very true, I've always liked a mix of music myself and you wrote it perfectly, for me at least. 90's and 00's were a beautiful time for music, a culmination of almost every era, and these days most music sounds the same, to me. Very few and far between are the original sounding artists, sadly. The awards ceremonies don't mean shit, even the Nobel Prize, these days, its just a scam to make more money from people and exploit/influence the public. Like you wrote, "we gotta go back", to a time music was made for expressing one's self and saying something true, rather than making profit off of others.
new album in 2023!!!!!
Josh Owens..
HS crush introduced me to taproot...still think of him💚
I get strong 311 vibes from this song
How does this only have a million views?
Love this song ❤️ I think of my wife Everytime. Catherine was is blessing in disguise.
Those harmonies though.
Love this song still jam it on the way home
What ever happened with these guy’s? One of the most underrated bands i have ever heard!
They’ve got a new album coming out this year, “S\SSRS”.
Taproot and Theriaca will be coming to Steubenville Ohio Dec 8th!!
I may have found a new favorite song
Late 90s and early 2000s hard rock was the best!!! This band is seriously underrated from that era. Taproot!!!
taproot always
Ever since 2002, I have loved this video, this song, this band and the whole Welcome album. I don't think that'll ever change really....
Absolute perfection right here
Still blastn this jam all these years later. That intro is the best just heavy brutality right before some melody. This song is off their 2nd album, but I still jam their album “Plead the Fifth” a lot. They took their sound back to that of their first two albums on Plead the fifth. Anyway stoked for their new record out very soon!🤘🎸🤘
Favorite Taproot song right here!
I still love nu-metal in 2019 !
2020
wow this brings me back to a time when music wasn't so irritating. i miss these guys
This is a really good song
Simply a masterpiece, love this one.
FROM ARGENTINA!
Goddamn that harmony gives undisputed kings of harmony like Alice In Chains and SOAD a run for their money
i miss these guys!
Jason Gomez they're still around.
In 2017 still rockin...this song is masterpiece
wow thank God for these guys
Damn I just realized this came out 21 years ago damn I feel old now. Wow time when by so fast 💨. I was twenty 😝
Layne Staley is that you? Great job on vocals Stephen, you killed it
I AGREE TAPROOT 4 LIFE!!
A great band from a better era of music, miss those days, still listen to taproot : )
I swear too god I can sing this song perfectly even with all the screams... and its very fun too do those.
I love his voice
not a lot of people did at the time and I loved his voice too.
Never gets old.
Esta canción, sería perfecta para un videojuego de carreras basado en choques que yo quisiera diseñar.
2023!
Let's make it 1m!
Heard this song on the radio (liquid metal Sirius ) and just dig it. 2019
So as a joke I referred to my girlfriend as "mine" and sung her this song. 15 years later we are very happily married and loving every second of it.
still love this song
Nearly 10 years old and still an awesome song, still sounds timeless. We need a new wave of metal. Other than parkway drive nothing sounds current
This is alot older then 10 years
this song came out in 02
February 2019, and this song is still amazing.
one of the nerdies rock band
Taproot is awesome... they are from a time when music was actually good.
I feel like this style is so apropos of the genre however this video is especially trippy.
i miss how i felt the first time i heard this
2024? Bc I’m bringing in the new year with old school growls. 🤘🤘🤘
still listening 2015 =)
1:49 - me pounding my heart every time i remember millennium era taproot
