There is a game on the SNES that is very similar to Gun Nac that is also very underrated - "Space Megaforce". That game is at least as good as Gun Nac, in my opinion.
"I made a lot of different sprites, lets try making a game out of this" and that's how GunNac was born but seriously, a very good game, well balanced, nice weapons, crazy idea, nice feel of power the idea is idiotic but the realization is great, one of those that still amaze me how great they came out
I used to play this for hours and always end up frustrated, just to play it again a few hours later, i agree with one of the comments, this game is *SEVERELY AND CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED*

jaja me acuerdo que lo jugaba en mi "mp6" que me permitía jugar ROMs de la Nes/famicom y tenía justo esta gema. Que increíble juego me vicie varias veces intentando pasar los niveles. Muy infravalorado en mi opinión, merece mayor atención ya que es un excelente shoot em' up de la era 8-bits!
I love that the sound effects are so reminiscent of one of my favorite NES games of all time, The Guardian Legend. It's a shame I will probably never own a legitimate copy of this game because of its rarity and price. Tried to emulate it on a modded NES Classic but sadly it was broken and glitched out in the shop segments.
love this game. i remember when I got mind blown by the fact that in the original Japanese version of this game, the protagonist of the was actually a female shaman who cast a spell on her and turned herself into a fighting jet in able to defeat the evil invaders.

Nintendo often censored games for the overseas market. They were afraid to be demonized or accused of giving children access to explicit imagery. There is many examples of this, some games not even released because of it. In reality most westerners did not care, it was just a very small vocal majority.
