Daigo is no stranger to new game systems and damage models, and the players who are quicker to recognize and adapt to them are clearly winning more games earlier than he is. However, by the time the offline world championships were held, the gap between the two had not been filled but rather covered. I feel this is the reason why Daigo has remained one of the top pro gamers for so many years.
I find it hard to believe he can keep up with the younger generation now. He is over 40 and his reflexes are clearly not what they used to be. Sure his muscle memory might still be there, but that's not enough vs players more then half his age now. Can say the same about Justin, although he is younger.
