MenaRD and Broski had an EPIC match. Comeback after comeback led them to a game 9 to finish off the initial round of Red Bull Kumite 2024! #StreetFighter6 #RedBullKumite
A lot of people said Broski was only there as a content creator personality, but he's the only one in the room who came close to taking out Mena while he was handing out donuts to everyone else.
As an AKI player Broskis gameplay here was absolutely inspiring and he was the guy who gave Mena the most trouble the entire tournament, props to him and I hope he's pleased with these results.
@@kelvin303 Yeah I love Mena but Luke ain't it, his blanka is something else though, but we always root for the unique characters, that's just how it is.
What an insane set oh my god broski needs to compete more, he gave Mena a run for his money with Aki of all characters while Mena was spinning circles around other pros with top tiers
Good show from Broski. Didn't expect Broski can put so much fight against MEnard. Probably the only player that has nerves of steel fighting the best player in the world
@@thatwestafrican6132No one uses Manon either and Idom got destroyed. Also, plenty of tape available on Broski's A.K.I. if Mena thought homework wasn't worth doing that was on him.
@GeoGyf Don't think that stands anymore, after the buffs, she is a danger. She is just hard to use, but the good Aki players are extremely difficult to deal with...
Commentators kept saying that the jab buff was helping but I don't think there was a single combo Broski did that had an extra jab in it compared to pre-patch Aki
@@mappybc6097 It did indeed, but the commentators were talking about the jab buff, not the MP buff. They seemed to think it was allowing Broski to get extra jabs in his combos, which it wasn't.
@@retnuHDJ True. Technically, he could have risked that extra jab, but against arguably the best player in the world using a top 3 character it just wasn't worth it.
@@mappybc6097 Well the problem with adding that extra jab to combos that only had 2 before is that it then puts HP whip out of range, so it really doesn't have much use
Wow, bruh. Mad Skill from both players. MenaRD... I saw that pride at the end, man. Broski... I saw that humility. To make a relatively low tier character do that well against a top... phewwwww....
Not the win but the round for sure. TBF broski was probably more consistent than Mena was, imagine going up against mena in your first match and being this solid.
This was by far the best match of the night. I mean I was already gonna be cheering on Broski but he made this so much more exciting than it could've been.
Throwing is a big problem in SF6 it's too easy to do and too hard to counter. High reward almost no risk, especially with the throw loops and free 50/50 throw set ups. Watching it just makes you roll your eyes.
@@DeathDasein that’s true but not all characters have the same loop potential. Or even follow up options it’s just too heavily skewed in some characters favor.
Broski’s set really brought energy to the Kumite. He was the only one there who took games off Mena or made him seem beatable at all. I think he convinced everyone that AKI is cool.
Broski is a beastly AKI. I was there watching him figuring out how the character work when she just released and taking Ls from lower rank players 😂 It's amazing how much progress he made.
Broski did good... Mena did not know the match up very well, you can see he didn't know when to react to anything. But his mental strength is something else. Broski lost to lack of big game experience. Best match
@@Triangulito360180 go watch Mena interview about the match... He said he didn't know the matchup. He said it... I noticed it ..but Mena... The player who isn't you... Said it with his own mouth that the lack of matchup knowledge caused him to struggle. Case 🔒🔐
@@Triangulito360180 No He's completely correct. There's very little Aki's out there playing her on this level. You can tell Mena didn't fully understand what was going on. But in the end he's just the much better player.
It's not thar Broski didn't want to, it's just Luke's jump hp will beat any antiair that's not perfectly timed and then he eats a jump in combo. The risk reward is heavily skewed in Luke's favor.
AKI has a bad anti-air, thats the truth. Mena kept jumping late, but it didnt mean anything. If you see Broski perfect parries every hit (at least to not take the first hit). Its in Broski's match analysis, he begs Capcom for AKI buffs. Broski's expectations vs the Luke matchup was not to go 0-5 or 1-5.
This match is a clear example of the detriment of not having an OD reversal. Aki has to take any and all punishment and guess her way out of everything, while Luke has no fear of coming straight at her non-stop and keeping her in constant throw loop 50/50's, while also keeping her offense somewhat at bay since she has to respect his OD reversal.
Yeah its in Broski's analysis as well, he begs Capcom for Aki buffs. Mena kept jumping late, but it doesnt meant anything. Broski was perfect parrying (at least not to take the first hit) and maybe hope for something. Btw Broski's expectations of the Luke matchup was not to go 0-5 or 1-5. Yeah you can watch the Broski match analysis, although you will get disappointed a bit. The reality is that AKI is bottom tier & needs a good anti-air.
