Wonder what it's like to actually own and daily drive a Ram TRX? Since so many of you have messaged the team at 221B Tactical asking about the truck, I figured I'd do a review of it for those who asked.
If you're serious about owning this truck one day, this review is for you. I also break down all the reasons I cancelled the deal on the Gen 3 Ford Raptor R and decided to buy the TRX.

Had mine for 2 years and absolutely love it... I bought mine with 8600 miles and now it has 89500 miles 0 issues...I also just bought a 2024 Finial Edition as my non work high mile truck...I as well looked at the Raptor R when i did the 2024 and the TRX is just a better truck imo...Your is beautiful as well!!
I definitely love the Delmonico and Harvest Sunrise colors on those 2024’s. That is one thing I wish was an option when I ordered my 2023.
You made the right choice!
Love TRXs’! Beautiful truck!
Great video, way to keep it real! Awesome truck, man. I'm looking at getting one next spring, this video helps. Thank you, God bless!
You're very welcome. You're gonna love it.
Nice video keep up the good work
Thank you Marcus.
My friends own TRX don’t have a peace of mind always worry about being car jack! Agree TRX interior looks more premium. Personally someone who loves baja, differently get a Raptor R over TRX!
Great video. I love both the TRX and Raptor R. I do wish that Ram had given the truck a two key feature. I do scratch my head on this move, it seems if they can do it on a car then it can be done on a truck.
I love this truck !!! Never driven a raptor r but kinda want one maybe adter my trx but i did own a 2nd gen raptor and theres no comparison. Only thing i miss is the better fuel economy from the raptor to the trx but yea beimg my daily driver doing about 32 miles a day thats my only complaint about this truck. I absolutely love it. I agree with you in every way qbout this truck.
My Gen 2 Raptor was WAY better on gas.
i got a 2021 Ram TRX and my biggest "pet peeve" about it is the fact that it doesn't have wireless apple carplay on the infotainment system.. which is pretty outrages for a 2021 vehicle that cost nearly 100k. Also, its only half screen when you do connect your phone.. I know these are first world problems but for a high end luxury truck that cost 100k, the fact that it doesn't have that is pretty dumb..
But this only applies to the 2021 models or uconnect 4 i believe..
Yes. It's unacceptable.
I have a 2022 trx and I have wireless CarPlay!!! Wonder why yours doesn’t 🤔
It's a beautiful truck I'm sure it'll tell you what your mpg is on the counsel
It does. I just don’t look.
Beautiful TREX! Have one, just like it! In the first mod I did to mine, I ordered a Key Fob signal blocker. Dont ever keep or carry your key fob without a signal blocker. They sell them on Amazon for a bout 50 bucks. See the videos on how fast they can steal the TRX its scary. I'm not giving them a chance. Also, i have a steering wheel lock. Nice video! Almost made me want to go buy a second TREX 😅
Got one! Always carry it.
You can change the rpm settings on paddle shifters if you feel there’s delay in the performance settings.
Didn't know that! Thank you!!!
What size 37 tire did you put on and what is brand of lift/level kit????
BFG K02 37x12.50. Level collars made by Foutz.
37 is the height or diameter of the tire. The rest of the sizing depends on the rim it’s mounted on, so two 37 inch tires on different size rims( ie 18, 19, 20 inch) will be different sizes.
@@markymark959 This in incorrect. Here's a link explaining why what you wrote is incorrect. Two 37" tires from the same manufacturer will be the same exact height/diameter no matter the wheel size. www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=37-12.5r18-37-12.5r20
Wireless CarPlay is on the new UConnect system on the 2023s. You forgot to mention the Raptor R also doesn’t have launch mode and the TRX has an actual hard launch control button.
True. Good point. Thank you.
Agree 100% TRX!!
Yours does not have the bed utility group with the Bed Step, the trailer back up control, the trailer tow mirrors or the power running boards. But who is counting? Lol. Love your red interior accents. A lot of them do not have that.
Correct. Those are all options I did NOT want. Prefer the fixed running boards. Don't ever tow so mirrors and trailer back-up not needed. But, yes those are available.
I don’t “hate” the Raptor R but there is a very serious problem with all of them! I’m sure some of the viewers realize this but most won’t speak up! The #1 problem with the Raptor R is…………..it’s made by FORD 😂
The Raptor body is the same body with all other F-150 they just installed wider plastic fender what makes it more menacing look compare to other F150 is the Ford Grill unlike the TRX they actually have wider body than any Ram 1500.
The reasons are endless. Even the new RHO inline 6 is a little whole other Level
Your wrong 2022 has wireless CarPlay , you must have a 2021
My TRX got stolen and now I own a Raptor R. Love both!!!
Biggest fear of owning TRX. Lot more piece of mind with Raptor R for sure.
I have nightmares of this every night. Need to add some security because it won't fit in my garage, went through th mall today and was freaking out.
Thank God where I live I don't hear of any theft of the Hellcat powered vehicles....blessed
@@strongislandzfinest23 definitely get some security. I thought it was just a bunch of fear mongering on the internet. My heart was broken because I loved that truck. Love the Raptor R too though. I hate that thieves exist.
@@gator2285 ya thankfully I live in a clean middle upper class white neighborhood with no crime and never hear of hellcats being stolen but I'm not too far to the NYC border and the nice mall is right on the border of the hood and outskirts of NYC border so I won't even drive to that mall. Just not worth it.
You didn’t sit in a 24 R, it has a HUD and better interior than the 23 plus 720hp!
Correct. I spent 3 days with a 2023 Raptor R. 2024s were not even out yet. Still haven't seen one yet.
first off your naming things that the raptor r in 2023 didn’t have . the 2024 has more hp 720 and has heads up display also the seats are much improved and the shocks are improved on the new raptor R you must be comparing it to a 2023 because you’re off on many thanks
Correct. 100%. Comparison was to 2023 Ford Raptor R. Not 2024.
My Raptor R supercharger screams. Just need to know what you’re doing to get that whine.
Gen 2 Raptor still the most aggressive looking truck on the planet.
LOVE the look of the Gen 2 Raptor. Had mine parked next to a Gen 3 and would take the Gen 2 look all day long.
DON'T. SPOIL. THE. RAPTOR, ITS. STILL. THE. BEST. LOOKING. VEHICLE, DON'T. TRY. TO. TAKE. THE. RAPTOR. LOVERS. AWAY......
Just sharing personal opinions. Is that still allowed or is that banned now too?
Tell me you are looking at a 2023 Raptor without telling me you are comparing last year's Raptor. The things you are complaining about is on the 2024 R. But to each their own. I guess that TRX will never see any dirt. Hope you keep it safe, people stealing Dodge left right, and up and down. The center console was made for people who do work in their vehicles, it's a great place to put your laptop.
The TRX “saw dirt” this weekend. As it does most weekends. Yes, they are stolen…a lot. It’s always a concern when parking it somewhere. If you are truly someone that “works out of their truck” you’re not driving a Raptor R. More likely a F-250 or 350. That said, the comments made about the gear shift have been echoed by Raptor and F-150 owners across the country. Seems like sharing personal opinions is about to be cancelled next SMH
@@221btactical Nobody is canceling, but to speak on something like it is a negative, without understanding the purpose it's for is not the best way to go about something. That is why you are receiving these comments. By the By Everyone is not a construction worker, there are people who are.hmmm Network Architects, that need space out of the hot sun to go over the topology. Again, cannot base it all on just what you would do. IMO I think buying a Raptor R or a TRX to go off-roadding, and I mean rock crawling and such, is overkill. Again, that's just my opinion.
@@iamninjak5250 Thanks for responding. Just so I know, what did I speak on specifically like it was a negative? The flip down center console feature? I'll have to re-watch to see what I said. But it's just a feature I personally wouldn't use. That's not to say it's "not useful" at all. Sure, there are plenty of people that might find that feature useful. Just not me. And again, this video was about "my personal" opinion of both trucks having spent time in both of them. My opinion is NOT gospel. Never said it was. Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but did I ever say in this video "DO NOT BUY A FORD RAPTOR?" I owned a Gen 2 Raptor for YEARS! The video is on my channel. Even though it had issues I still LOVED it. But in my OPINION, when comparing the TRX with the Gen 3 Raptor, I personally found the TRX to be superior in multiple areas. Once again, not GOSPEL, just my opinion. Hope that helps.
MOPAR or no car!
raptor R comes with 37 from the factory and it’s a little bit faster I like the TRX, but the Raptor R is a better truck
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
RAPTOR HATER LOL
Nah. Check the channel. Owned a Gen 2 Raptor for YEARS! Loved it. Nice try though.
Yet the Raptor R continues to sellout while the TRXs begin to pile up on dealership lots. 😂
My opinion was based on my personal experience with both vehicles. If I based my buying decisions on what everyone else is buying or what's sitting on dealer lots, that wouldn't be authentic. That would be "following the herd." Simply sharing my personal opinion; not trying to "influence" anyone either way. Don't get paid by either company LOL.
I hate people do truck comparisons in our so far wrong. It’s ridiculous. You’re missing foreman all your audience.
Sharing personal opinion after driving both is “misinformation?” Ok. Got it.
Huh? Grammar? 😅
@@damonharrington2948 LOL
The TRX is a great truck and will temporarily be discontinued after the 2024 model year. In its place will be similar looking truck called the RHO and will compete with the V6 Raptor.
What the hell are you trying to say ? did you just come from across the border 🤣🤣
The best truck now is the 2025 Raptor R period and Ram no longer has a competitive TRX since they stopped making V8s and now you get a V6. The TRXis a badass looking truck for sure, but the Raptor (2025 37 R version) is superior in power, suspension, etc … sorry, the truth matters
I was comparing my 2022 TRX to the 2023 Raptor R I got to spend time with. I have no clue what the 2025 Raptor R (is that even out yet???) or the new 2024/2025 TRX come with. If we're talking about HP, 0-60, suspension travel... yes, we can use the word "better." However, if we are talking about quality of the materials used on the interior, drivability, etc, then that's up to the individual. That's all I would add. Yes, the truth matters. But if one person gets into a car that has lots of plastic, fake looking carbon fiber, and hard surfaces AND THEN gets into another car that has lots of leather and real metal trim, real looking carbon fiber and soft touch surfaces all around and feels that the latter car is "better" is he wrong? That's not a matter of truth. That's just a matter of his personal preference. Hope that makes sense.
@@221btacticalFacts!!! 100%
The HP and a Deb other things has changed. The 2024/2025 has everything else the same. I originally was leaning towards a Raptor R but, the Ram just ticked all the boxes. So, I ordered one in January 2023, it arrived November 1st. I can respect both off road beastly trucks. The price was better on the Ram vs Raptor R. Honestly, it does come down to personal preference. I run with Raptors, Toyota, Chevy and GMC, each is unique and the best for their owner.

You are wearing the cross of Jesus Christ and Dodge embraces demons and hell cats.............hmmmm
My faith is greater than the marketing ploys of a car company….
please, stop... lol
Sharing personal opinions on a truck??? Sure ok. Will delete the video for you.
