Guys we are uploading to UGETube now! It's a great site ran by Utah Gun Exchange and very promising! Subscribe to us here so you know where to find us if we disappear off of TH-cam videos.utahgunexchange.com/@Hegshot87
I've been following you for a while now and then even realize that you ride. With that being said, I'm also about to get back on the saddle and would like to know have you upgraded/outgrown the iron 883 or are you still riding it? If so, what did you upgrade to?
Even if it's paid for rarely used its ALWAYS the first to go. Of course honey! Although an occasional ride keeps me sane.,I'LL GIVE IT AWAY JUST FOR YOU!😳
On the right bike, on the right day, and the right road, I just pretty much feel one with the universe. When I feel like I don't fit in anywhere, or I'm lonely, or I'm like, all screwed up in the head i get on my bike and go for a ride and it's like all of a sudden i'm fixed Indian larry
Same for me. My 14 denim black I iron 883 is what brought me back to 2 wheels after nearly 20 years and is my first dedicated street bike. Got a good deal on it too. $5k for one with 300 miles on it.
I'm 55, for me about 8 yrs ago I picked up a 1995 883, rebuilt it & rode it for a yr then went to an 08 1200 Custom but hated that bike, traded it for a 07 GSXR 750 which was an awesome bike, I did 3 yrs. on it but missed the cruiser.just picked up a 1995 1200 with 1,500 orig miles in mint condition. I'm done, this bike is so much fun & is all I need for street riding. Glad to see you back on a bike, enjoy the Iron, they are great bikes! Stay safe!
What did you not like about the Custom? I had a '93 Sportster 1200 w/ buckhorn bars. That's all I had for 6-7 yrs. Got a 2000 Custom w/ the drag bars. I never got along that well w/ the straight bars, but MAN, that was a sharp lookin' bike.
filoIII I think I just like the older carberauted Sportster. My '95 is 491 lbs, 70 lbs lighter than current Sportys which greatly improves power/weight ratio, has nice low end torque & good on hwy & handles well. I'd does vibrate but I'm used to that. On my 08 I blew the same rocker box gasket Twice in 6 months which really pissed me off so I sold it, other than that it was a really good dependable bike.
We share similar motorcycling history. Started in my early twenties and after a couple riding seasons I had to give up my Suzuki 550 as I had a son on the way. Twelve years later (this year) I walked into my local HD dealer and left on a black denim ‘17 Iron. Picked it up for the same reasons you mentioned. Congratulations and ride safe!
My 2022 iron 883 is my comeback bike I love it as I had a stroke a few years ago and seemed like I wouldn’t ride again but I worked hard to get strong enough to ride again
I had a sportster a long time ago. Sold it to pay for a divorce lawyer, lol. Great to see you love two wheels too. If things are still the same, that 883 motor is a 1200 with sleeves in the cylinders, so you can have them reamed out when you get the itch for more motor. I have balance issues now, so the bike that will get me back in the wind will be a trike of some sort. I really miss those days. Ride safe and shoot straight. Grey
I just got into riding and have a 94 sportster would have liked an Iron . But as you said money dictates what we’re able to get . My dad was a cop and grandpa grew up on a farm so I’m a gun guy too.
Thinking of getting a 48 or an iron.. Noticed on your ride that you're in SC.. I'm in darlington county and I am impressed with your channel. Watched the AR15 video and now I'm subscribed.. Stay safe, man
The sporty wasn’t my get back to riding, rather it was my keep riding bike. I’ve gone from a road king, then downsized to a soft tail , now my sporty. At 70 years old , I couldn’t handle the weight at low speed, parking lots etc. with bad knees, weak legs.
Great review ! After 20 yers having licence I got my first Suzuki intruder 800cc two years after I'm looking forward to a Harley Davidson sportster iron 883. I love the blackout concept! Peace on you and your family!
Hello Hegshot87, you did good, Got a 91XLSporty1200 very pleased with it. My brother says he'd rather ride 100 miles on a bike than 200 in a car. I rode back in the 70's a Honda 360 Skrambler. In 2012 I bot the Sporty. keep the rubber side down!
I owned a Kawasaki Ninja 650 for several years, until it got stolen. I stopped riding and swore I wouldn't ride again. That only lasted 2 years, as I got the bug to ride again. I test rode the Iron 883 and loved the bike. I used to hate Harley's until I rode them. I now own a Fat Bob and absolutely love it. Like you, I'm not a speed demon and ride just to ride. I got the Fat Bob because 1) I love it and 2) my wife loves to ride with me. The Fat Bob is better for 2-up riding. The Iron is still an awesome bike.
Hi Am New To your Site Love This Video...Am Taking The Harley Rider Academy at The End of Oct.2019 Then Hope To Buy A New 883 Iron....Keep The Bike Videos Coming and Ride Safe.
Love that bike. I'm thinking of getting one. I'm a small dude 5' 6". I think this bike and I would be a perfect match! Thanks for the vid! My wife is gonna hate you 😂
Congratulations! That's a great bike. I also purchased a 2017 Iron 883 after a 10 year hiatus. I use it to commute to work, as well as weekend rides. I had a stage 1 upgrade done with Vance & Hines Short Shots, tuner and a Screaming Eagle breather. The bike runs and sounds amazing. The stage 1 upgrade also gives you more than enough power to cruise and pass at interstate/ freeway speeds.
I ride a '97 Wide Glide with a S&W 9 M&P riding in a Black Hawk holster. Been riding bikes for 40 years. Just my input. Your Iron 883 is a great bike. I've seen 883's with 90,000 plus miles on the clock and still strong.
Awesome, I have never owned a Bike but at this point in my life, 57 and retired I am thinking about the 883 as a Bike just for around the City and spent ,my time riding so its good to here another opinion. I too am a gun guy love my Glocks :)
The Iron, Forty Eight, and the Roadster all have the HD look I'm used and like. I recently got back into riding. Found a great deal on a '15 Honda CB500. It's a crotch-rocket type bike, but, you sit more straight up, like I was used to w/ my Sporties. Now, If I can figure how to put forward controls on this baby.
I hear ya' man... I started out riding sport bikes then wound up having a couple of Roadkings and then an Electra Glide and several kids and several years later my re-entry bike is an 883 custom... and....HOLY CRAP it's Dorchester Road!
You mentioned saving up for the MSF course. If I’m not mistaken its a free course nationwide. I know it is here because I took it and it only cost me time. Look into because it really taught me a lot.
squeaking brakes is very common with the new bikes, could be the wind blowing you around at speed, and in the future you can do a 1200 to 1275 conversion kit, where you change out the jugs and pistons
Great music intro. Thanks. Great Heart felt review about the journey to maturity on a course of growth and development cap-stoned with a purchase of a motorcycle as an ode to youth.
I'm subbed to your channel for the gun reviews, then this video popped up.I usually kept a Road King but sold it a couple of years ago.But recently,I decided it's time to get back on two wheels and ran across a good deal on an '02 883 Sportster Custom. The only thing I don't like is the forward foot controls,I'm still getting used to them.
I like the ride.. 09 xl883n 4342 miles on it brought me back to riding last fall. haven't been on a bike since 1993 when I sold my Kawasaki 750CSR twin. same reason you had. as you put it I liked the looks. and mine is also blacked out..
You mentioned bike payments, also worth noting that harley has their own financing business/bank which they use to finance bikes, even if you have bad credit. Indian does not.
I own five big ones two custom 114hp.109 hp. hd wide glide, yamaha stratoliner , honda Goldwing, you should at least three so you still have a choice. I bought the wide glide in order to have something to work on.Oh yes I almost forgot I pull a trailer with the wide glide. I need that for all the tools I need to keep it running.
Everybody has something to say about different brands of bikes. Most of the time those criticizing have little to no experience on the bike they’re criticizing. As long as it makes you happy, ride it.
You should have gotten it used. Their like 2 to 3k less then new and usually under 10k miles on them. I like my 2015. It tears up the canyons. Lol I scape some peg here and there.
I have a Moto Marini 500 fo many years but I too also wanted an American bike and always loved the looks and sound of a Sportster. They are so cool looking!! I finally got an 06 883 and I have chrome but black handelbars and an upgraded exhust. I like how the peanut tank looks but would like to get a bigger peanut tank. Like my other bike I will probably always have this one. Thanks for your great video.
Pro 2A? Subscribed! Lol seriously great video. Subscribed. I have been looking for my first bike and wanted a vrod but I think I will get one of these first.
I see a lot of Haters when i comes to Harleys and them being bad engines, which is kind of true. The Sportster has been around awhile and is reliable in Stock. People who usually have problems with sportster is when they customize it with after market parts. Sporsters are a modders dreams because their is so many option. Just make sure to do tons of Research and have patience. I have Grey Denim 2016 Sportster with Vance & Hines Hi Output Grenades Exhaust and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker Intake. Change out all my lights and added some extra aftermarket cosmetics. Knowing that I'm going to be riding my bike to work makes smile because I don't really have to deal with LA traffic.
I agree Pizza guy. keep your bike stock until your sure your going to keep it a long while. After market is fine but no two people are the same and most of the time I have found out that if your selling a bike with after market parts people dont want to pay for the extras you have added on. A good idea is to keep all of the original part safe and dry and advertise that you have all the original parts.
Guns and motorcycles....I knew I liked you. U should do a video saying what gun would be what bike and why. Like your 883 would be an m&p compact 2.0 because of price, reliability, etc. Just an idea.
Hey dude. I agree with all your points. Same reasons i picked up my iron... one thing i did notice is that your neutral light came on at 7.10 and didnt go off till end of vid.... dont know if u noticed that or not but thought I should mention it.....
I ride for fun and of course if still working i would be riding to work. I always consider that i may be saving gas but not really saving money. With the purchase price, what you recoup if you later sell, service, tires & brakes and everything totalled i'm not even sure riding a bike is cost effective as far as saving money. It's usually a new back tire every few thousand miles. 4 qts. with filter @ oil change time but saving money isn't the point. You can save on gas and put that toward your first tire replacement. Hell, i'm not even hardly saving any gas over any small car getting around 30 because my Yamaha XS1100 gets right around there average. A lot more fun than driving a Honda Civic to work to keep gas bill even.
+Jonny Bravo Thanks man. I will say if the Indian had mid controls I may have went with the Scout 60. I'm sure you can relocate the controls but I didn't want to drop any more money than I had to
I bet you're going to want to upgrade to a larger CC bike within a year, just a well educated guess. That's why you see so many for sale with super low miles on them. Don't spend a bunch of money trying to upgrade this bike and make it fast increase the value of the bike and you still going to want to upgrade
oscar rivera the 1200 custom also has a four and a half gallon tank and it used to have spot 5 spoke wheels but Harley went back to wire spokes. I almost never see anybody riding a 1200 custom it's always the iron or something like that.
James N is there a reason people don’t ride the 1200 custom? I was looking into those as well as the 48 and the 883 but I can’t really find a lot on the 1200 custom
How different was the 650 than the 500? Was it that much more power? Would the 650 get out from underneath you on take off if you give it all it has? Thx.
I have a 2006 1200 Low that I bought one year old. It now has 13,000 miles on it (yes I know that's not much, but I have 5 other bikes to ride) and not a single problem. I lucked out and got the last year of the carbed model. Most problems with Harleys now are not mechanical, they are computer related. Other than a somewhat louder than stock exhaust and a rejetted carb, it is mechanically stock. The Sportster engine in particular is superior to the Victory engine in every way. It has no internal chains (other than the primary chain, which is easy to get to and replace). My last bike, a Kawasaki Vulcan 750, died at 52,000 miles from a broken cam chain. The Sportster with the right pipes also sounds way better than a Victory. Now, the Twin Cam and Milwaukee 8 are another thing entirely. They have many design problems, and have had a lot of failures. Harley's attempts at "improvements" backfired. The EVO big twins were virtually bulletproof if you left them stock. The new Indian Scout is basically Japanese. It feels, sounds, and looks Japanese. Funny how motorcycles and guns go together. I have several of both. I would have gone with the 1200. They are physically no bigger than the 883, and that extra 300+ cc gives them the capability of riding at 80 mph on the freeway all day long at a much lower rpm.
What is the name of the intro song? I'm really digging it. I am torn between the HD Iron 883 and the Indian Scout 60, I'm not sure which will be a better fit for me.
+little Sammy909 Yeah they said the pads glazed over and told me to make sure and use both brakes every time which I pretry much do anyways. HD didn't want to pay for it of course but the tech didn't charge me because it's brand new
Hegshot87 nice vid! Im basically in the same exact boat as you! So what did they do to help that squeak? Still squeaking today? Im hittin that subscribe buddy as I type and watch this. Lookin forward to more Iron vids!

The Black Denim 883 Iron is what brought me back also. You and I have similar taste in motorcycles. Be safe and enjoy!

I just looked at the '18 Custom. That thing's UUUUGGGLY.
Just got into riding and got used super low milage 883 Iron, with upgraded pipes and air filter. Love this bike.😁😎
I’ve owned them all over the past 50 years... now I ride 883 IRON as my Chosen Mount
Love your gun videos man! As someone who just bought himself an Iron 883, I definitely appreciate this video. Keep up the good vids!
Seems like there are a lot of us that love bikes too. My return bike was a Bonneville T100 Black for many of the same reasons.
My first Harley after being off two wheels for thirty years was a 1200 C Sportster. What ever you can afford, and are comfortable with. Ride on
My 2022 iron 883 is my comeback bike I love it as I had a stroke a few years ago and seemed like I wouldn’t ride again but I worked hard to get strong enough to ride again
Congrats on your 883 and God bless the2A!
Grey
+Grey Beard Thanks man
They do make a 1200 conversion kit for the 883. It actually turns it into a 1250 and has more power then a factory 1200.
Best ccw holster for motorcycle riding. ..just an idea
+deathofkindness Great idea man. Thanks
i bought an iron 886 10 days ago. first bike in 10 years. im now 46. when i ride it makes me smile
883
Damn... That is one beautiful bike... Congrats man!!
I just got into riding and have a 94 sportster would have liked an Iron . But as you said money dictates what we’re able to get . My dad was a cop and grandpa grew up on a farm so I’m a gun guy too.
This bike has me wanting to come back. I really love it! Thanks for you opinion.
Thinking of getting a 48 or an iron.. Noticed on your ride that you're in SC.. I'm in darlington county and I am impressed with your channel. Watched the AR15 video and now I'm subscribed.. Stay safe, man
I also came back to motorcycling after 10 years! And I also got an Iron 883 in Denim Red! Ride safe bro!
Congratulations on your return to motorcycling and choosing a great cruiser in the 883.
Great choice, very upgradable. Shocks and Cartridge kit for forks really change the bike.
The sporty wasn’t my get back to riding, rather it was my keep riding bike. I’ve gone from a road king, then downsized to a soft tail , now my sporty. At 70 years old , I couldn’t handle the weight at low speed, parking lots etc. with bad knees, weak legs.
You made a great choice. That bike is awesome. I have a 2008 1200 custom sportster with absolutely no problems at all in years of ownership.. Enjoy!
Good to have you back , brains of the operation .
My brother says he'd
rather ride 100 miles on a bike than 200 in a car.
I'm 5'5 and got my 883 and it fits me perfect you'll be fine.
I have an 883 and I’m 6’4”. It fits me fine.
@@CamaroAmx lol. There is no way a 883 fits you fine at 6'4". You need a bigger bike. You probably look like an adult riding a kids bmx!
Love the looks... Will probably still get a ninja 400
Nice video, the Iron is my comeback motorcycle to i bought mine the 12 mai 2017, ride safe bro
congratulations on the new bike! You will find that it gets accepted much better than you last bike, and the Law likes this bike. enjoy the ride!

Why don't you make a video of the best Firearms to carry on a motorcycle
+Sean Sherk Thanks for the idea bro 👍
Also include best holster/ carry location on a bike. I am in the market for a cruiser and have my ccw as well. I need to see options. (subscribed)
Welcome to the Sportster, and about the speed, I call age.
Good video. I'm looking pretty hard at that bike. I grew up riding, but haven't been on 2 years in a long time.
the Iron' is a good bike . sporty's are usually pretty bulletproof with good maintenance .
I started on a ninja 500 also. It was a lot of fun. I'll have another bike one day, but for the time being I just work and drive my toyota.
Born To Ride and Ride To Live! Nice bike bro...
+john bouley Thanks brother
I have a Moto Marini 500 fo many years but I too also wanted an American bike and always loved the looks and sound of a Sportster. They are so cool looking!! I finally got an 06 883 and I have chrome but black handelbars and an upgraded exhust. I like how the peanut tank looks but would like to get a bigger peanut tank. Like my other bike I will probably always have this one. Thanks for your great video.
Welcome to the family! You chose a great bike with good aftermarket support & forums New sub.....
Welcome back great video Happy Holidays to u and your family
+Dexter Norman Thanks brother. Same to you
Ride safe Dude
+Tom Sawyer Thanks man will do
Pro 2A? Subscribed! Lol seriously great video. Subscribed. I have been looking for my first bike and wanted a vrod but I think I will get one of these first.
My 2015 883's brakes always squeaked. Also, the back right taillight would always go out. I had to Macgyver it to stay lit.

I'm pretty sure HD outsources certain parts on their iron 883 to India to be produced.
I’m into guns and bikes
Thank you for posting this vid
Guns and motorcycles....I knew I liked you. U should do a video saying what gun would be what bike and why. Like your 883 would be an m&p compact 2.0 because of price, reliability, etc. Just an idea.
I like motorcycles just as much as I like firearms. Keep up the good videos!
Love this bike. Easy riding😊

A lot more fun than driving a Honda Civic to work to keep gas bill even.
nice review first time i see your channel, because of harley it pop up on my screen , great 👍
I was looking at the exact same 2 bikes for all the same reasons. Nice video. Also, Victory Motorcycles is another USA choice. Although a bit pricey
Jonny Bravo Victory is out of business this year unfortunately. Polaris dropped the brand
+Jonny Bravo Thanks man. I will say if the Indian had mid controls I may have went with the Scout 60. I'm sure you can relocate the controls but I didn't want to drop any more money than I had to
intro music is really dope
Great bike
I love motorcycles
I bet you're going to want to upgrade to a larger CC bike within a year, just a well educated guess. That's why you see so many for sale with super low miles on them. Don't spend a bunch of money trying to upgrade this bike and make it fast increase the value of the bike and you still going to want to upgrade
Nice bike
I'm back. I'm only interested in the mtorcycle vloggs. Well, that's not completely true, I do love my hand guns.
Do some more videos on your bike!
+ditto1958 Will do! Thanks
I would really like to see what your opinion for best carry set up for riding
I had 2 1200 Sportsters. I'm partial. I'd maybe buy another HD if they come out w/ an Iron 1200.
What do you think the 1200 custom is? its the same exact frame as the iron with a 1200 cc engine, the Forty-Eight as well has the iron frame.
filoIII There is an Iron 1200 now it came out a couple of months ago.
Yea i forgot they released the Iron 1200 this year lol. I hate the gas tank cover color though.
oscar rivera the 1200 custom also has a four and a half gallon tank and it used to have spot 5 spoke wheels but Harley went back to wire spokes.
Thx.
Bring on the bikes bro.
It looks like the bike vibrates a lot? Is it noticeable or annoying?
so you get this because this bike wont try to kill you when you start it XD
Id love to see more bike vids
+Isaac L Awesome man will do
When you walk you can see how hard the motorcycle is. Is it like that?
Dang I wouldn’t have ever guessed, awesome. I ride a FJR1300.
+Proud Veteran Nice bike man
What's a good cruiser size for a beginner rider?
All about the normal controls
So what ended up being wrong with the bike?
I am torn between the HD Iron 883 and the Indian Scout 60, I'm not sure which will be a better fit for me.

noel karjalainen dafuq?
Awesome video.
My back brake also squeaks , did you ever find out what it was?
+little Sammy909 Yeah they said the pads glazed over and told me to make sure and use both brakes every time which I pretry much do anyways. HD didn't want to pay for it of course but the tech didn't charge me because it's brand new
Hegshot87 nice vid! Im basically in the same exact boat as you! So what did they do to help that squeak? Still squeaking today? Im hittin that subscribe buddy as I type and watch this. Lookin forward to more Iron vids!
They need an Iron 1200.
filoIII they have it now
Oh yeah???
They did. They were call nightsters. Now they have iron 1200s. They look different but Basically the same.
