I just found your channel last week. Huge fan already. I have just purchased a 2018 t595 and you’ve already saved me soooo much time. Thank you for your videos. I’ll be scheduling a conference call soon on your website. Huge thanks from NC
Thankyou so much for making the videos. I am just starting on my first skid steer project. I purchased a bobcat 883 that is smoking badly and sounds not the greatest. I was told by the previous owner that cylinder 4 ate the tip of a glow plug. I have stuck a camera in that cylinder and could see what appeared to be a pool of oil on the top of the cylinder the glow plug in that cylinder was also oil coated. My thought is a blown head gasket but I will be checking the turbo first incase any of the broken glow plug damaged the turbo. Let me know if that is a logical path to follow. I did check the pushrods and they are still straight.
Hope this is a good time for this question. My Bobcat 863 is smoking a little blue smoke, runs very strong and has 975 hours (bought from someone I know). Our problem is that it is using lots of oil. If it's valve guides or rings would a compression check tell me that. I'll take a look at the intake also and make sure it is not the turbo (learned that from you today)
Hello, I'm looking to buy a bobcat skid steer at auction. What do you recommend I do when I get one before use regarding maintenance? I have not looked at all of your videos, so let me know if you have anything to add. I have enjoyed learning and will definitely continue watching your videos.
My 753 has started smoking (clears/calms down after warming up) be debating on pulling the head to check valves, maybe injectors and compression test is a better first step. (6999 hrs)
I pulled 2 Ejectors out of a LX885 New Holland with a Bobcat ! LoL ! Snatch Rope . Picked up the New Holland 2 inches off the Ground . 8 mm , 4 Inch Bolt . Got it out !!
I'm Happy to See things got Fixed !! I brought it up ! I'm a COOPER ! O'REILLY Auto Parts Cooper , Michael Cooper , Motorola and John Cooper CEO of Nascar !! Glad things are back and going Good Brother 👍🇺🇸 !!
Turbo !! It needed a Fuel Pump and Knew Ejectors . It's Running and Don't Smoke !! Under a Kamotsu PC 60 all day . Pulled off Old Hydrologic Hoses and getting it Right !
Pretty cool video. Makes you wonder where the top of the injector went. Couldn’t really tell from the video how big a piece it was that broke off but maybe it was small enough to make it through the engine and turbo without doing too much damage.
lucky no piston damage through overfueling - what colour was the smoke? blue black or white? that can give you a big clue at what the problem is.. white like black if its not the injectors can be a timing issue with the injector pump especially if its been disturbed at some point- it can be easy to sort out on older vehicles that dont have a management system, by making a reference point where the pump touches the block so you know the starting point how far your turning in a particular direction, some dont need to adjust the pump but have slots on a pully wheel to give you adjustment instead , as you adjust it the smoke will either get blacker or whiter this will clue you in which direction you need to go.
I’m trying to do a compression test on this same skid steer I bought last week I bought the master diesel kit you said in your other video but it doesn’t have the adapter to check the compression on these which one do I need to buy?
It's a pleasure to watch your videos and learn from them, thank you very much for taking the time for people like us who are looking to learn something new. I know this is not a video that is adequate for the question I want to ask you, but I can't find one that addresses my problem. I have a Bobcat T595 that is always giving me the E000636-08 crankshaft sensor code and I replaced it with a new one but when I accelerate to more than 1500 rpm it starts to shake and has no power. I returned the old sensor and it works better but the problem is to turn it on cold and when it sends the code after it is already working on it. Well my question is what can I do to solve this problem? I know that it is best to take it to the bobcat dealer for it is already the second time and as you know it is not cheap and I would have to wait a month for it to be ready since the workshop is very late and the waiting time is very long. Well I hope you can help me. And once again thank you very much for your videos that have really helped me a lot to repair my machine without the need to take it to the workshop
Great content. I have subscribed and watch alot of your videos. I have an 863 with BF4M1011F version of the Deutz. Similar issue. My machine has less than 4hrs on full rebuild. Been smoking ever since first start. Progressively got worse until it just wouldn't start anymore. When I pulled the inlet hose to the turbo it began leaking oil from the compressor side. After letting it drain for a few minutes it starts up but runs rough. I suspect it's from the oil in the intake after the turbo. Turbo is new from Friday parts. Injectors, crank, piston , rings, valves. All new internals. Ran great when first started. But would continuously stall after 5-10 minutes. Thought it was fuel pickup tube but it wasn't. Must have been something with this turbo as you've pointed out here. What are your thoughts, @Howididit ? Next steps: replace breathers, and clean up and reinstall the original deutz turbo.
Great Video, I’ve been wanting to do the injectors in my T200….This video gave me some ideas on what to look for….do you have any recommendations on where to buy injectors? Or maybe more importantly where not to buy them lol. Thanks for the info!
I had a gehl 4840 it had that same engine tapping sound. i put all new pumps and injectors on it and it still made the same sound afterwards. ive had a few pros listen to it they said it sounded like a fuel knock but i ended up trading the machine for an excavator. it ran fine but just sounded funny is all
@@tetradgroup My takeuchi tb240 excavator just started white smoking today. im trying to decide where to start. im thinking its an injector but maybe its bad fuel
Do you know if that engine was burning oil? or was that all fuel causing all that smoke? The 863 I bought is burning engine oil, I am thinking it is a turbo issue since the engine is still strong... the bobcat has 2500 hrs on its prob orig timing belt, not how bad timing would burn engine oil like a leaky turbo...
A pleasure to make your acquaintance. Your video inspired me to try to start my 753 since I changed the head. The smoke before was water in the oil. Got it started but a whole different smoke. No water in the oil so that isn't it. Thought I would replace the injectors based on this video. Thoughts?
Great video thanks for sharing I have a 3.1 isuzu deisel truck with similar problems maybe mine is the same. I have subscribed cheers regards keith from New Zealand
That is awesome!!! Should have seen the Semi I saw the other day. It was POURING white smoke out the exhaust pipes. Smelled like fuel too, NOT coolant. Canadian truck too. Near Bellingham. Hope he made it home. Thx for showing that injector!!!!! I've only seen that 1 time, on the farm, many, many years ago. Enjoy your new toy too!!!!
The code is for low voltage at battery which is common when trying to start a cold machine. If it turns over and still won't start could be lots of things, you can schedule a call if you want at www.4tetradgroup.com.

Nicely explained, I don't have a tractor, but I love tinkering with engines. So this knowledge will come in handy. Thank you for the upload
I like, very honest when makes mistakes.
Your videos are always great and edited straight to the point 👊
Thank you. I hope I can continue to make videos.
I have that same model but a 6640, your timing belt video helped me out immensely on that job. Thanks so much I love the machine!
Glad it helped
Thanks!
Thanks again my friend!
That clatter when first started could have been an injector that was partially air locked and needed to be bled.

Great post! Never knew water could do that much damage to an injector…great explanation!
Thank you!
I always pick up some good tips from your channel, thanks for sharing!
Glad someone does!

what about the broken tip of the injector. Stays inside the cylinder? You could fish it with a magnet from the injector hole?

S300 is doing the same at 4500hrs the crank case pressure is ridiculous

I try not to think about it 😒

I have the 4 cylinders deutz in my bobcat, its smoking like hell and burn a lot of oil... do you know where I can check before opening the motor?
how much was the machine?

I have never dealt with the copper seal on the injectors, if they stay in the head how do you get them out?
Usually an angled pick will reach down and grab it and just pull it out.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
sir what are your opinions on the bobcat t66 r series. are they reliable or would you choose a different brand. if so, what brand do you recommend?

very nice work thanks
super cool man thanks for all your work . 🇺🇸
Just found this clip today, maybe try the likes of some redex init to help clean the shit in the tank, fuel lines, engine, exhaust
I had a gehl 4840 it had that same engine tapping sound. i put all new pumps and injectors on it and it still made the same sound afterwards. ive had a few pros listen to it they said it sounded like a fuel knock but i ended up trading the machine for an excavator. it ran fine but just sounded funny is all
It cleared up for the most part but still had a very slight tap. Runs excellent otherwise.

Fuel was the issue, damaged injector tip just allowed fuel to pour into cylinder.
Great video buddy hey what state are you in
Utah
Love seeing another field guy on this I’m 60 and still learning thanks again
Man, you are good! Thank you so much
That is just what my 753 was doing. I assumed it was the head so I just changed it.

OK that should help me diagnose my smoky MF35 tractor. Thank you.
Maybe try some atf in the fuel to clean the system🤷♂. Nice little unit tho.
Awesome job👍👍👍

Oh wow!
Nice work. She was blowing smoke rings, lol
Yes it was, that was cool
Bad injectors???
Timing??
Air intake, valves, high pressure injector pump timing???
i have black smoke and air filter code, t630
Nice
Please help I am working on a T450 bobcat I am getting code # MO309 it turns but does not start, help

Dang, I wish you were my neighbor.
Oh, Deutz engine
ain't got no gas in it
Correct, I did check the diesel for gasoline and no trace was found
test diesel for water
