i used to work in a van conversion shop in the metal dept. my job was cutting holes in the sides for windows and the roof for raised roofs. i had a jig that i sat on the top of the van that was held in place with magnets to mark where to cut the roof off so you only had to cut it once, and didn't wind up with an uncomfortable trip to production manager's office to explain why the hole was bigger than the fiberglass topper. we used 1"x1" steel angle iron around the edge of the hole in the roof to stiffen and support the topper.
Thank You. You have now shown the saying, measure twice, cut once, is a for real saying and not just a joke 😁 Learn from your Elders children, that way you won't rush in and make the same mistakes🤣 All jokes aside, thank you for the great content y'all make., you are a pleasure to watch every time.
Always entertained and always get a chuckle and smile seeing all your familiar faces doing just a couple of the many things you do best, building, ripping and being real. Thank you good gents. Keep up the great work👏
Dang…. GHPCo is such a great WATCH. IMO top 3 MAKERS (or tops) in all of TH-camdom. - - - NOT an “Influencer”, straight up Boss Maker. Keep up the fantastic work! I was thinking of getting an Insta360, now I’m for sure gonna buy one.
3:07 prolly would've been a good idea to leave a lip. Said lip could then be raised with a pair of body work pliers and made into a water rail, then the top kit lowered and affixed to it. Whenever they put AC units inside our fleet vehicles, the guys at the install yard do that. They have never leaked in (some) 15 years. It's just water denial.
so glad you`re doing two vids a week now!!!! .... btw: would be so sweet if you sometime on a future build could include a "fiddle brake"/"turning brake" design. Such a fun feature!!
When the vid was starting,I was thinking "Wow,now they have a roof chunk to turn into a sled.." but with the vents, not so much.At least you now have a couple 12v vent fans for future fun projects..?The 'van life' has unlimited possibilities.
Getting harder to find decent 7.3 vans. That looks like a nice one. I have a 2001 7.3 E350, it's been a good machine for hauling dirt bikes and SxS rippers, wish it had that 4wd conversion, that's money!
Rubber seam tape is also ideal for seaming artificial turfs for sand filled or nylon putting greens and turfed areas. l used miles of it for that and pond liners.
I want to build a 4wd camper van so damn badly. To buy one is absurd when it comes to price. Someday I'll have the room and a shop to do it. Someday. It was awesome to see that old video too!
I've got an ambulance I'm wanting to convert. I toured the US last year and a half. Would be a different experience with 4x4. Even a lift kit would be worth it.
@@timbodnar6711 Ford Econoline I imagine? Wouldn't be to bad to convert to 4wd. Would cost a few grand to do it yourself. Not sure what it would cost to have a shop do it.
Cool to see that the 7.3 E350 got to be shown that they exist. I always have people asking me if I engine swapped mine and then have their minds blown when I say it was a factory option 😂
Affordable plywood with batt insulation and vapor barrier and then just need to ventilate the insulation so it does cause mold and this could all be done for around 500
GHP needs a yard crane. Either a junky fixer-upper truck one or a static pole one before the shop. So many things could be made easier with the use of a crane.
Even though I paid Colorado Camper Van to install my top, just seeing the pictures of them taking a recip saw to my 4x4 van was quite a shock. Nice job guys.
I have a project in the making that I think you guys would be very, VERY, interested in and intrigued by. It would be awesome to take a short trip and bring it your way to get it finished. And get a solid episode out of it for you guys
I loved this video! I've always been interested in those 7.3 4x4 vans. I ended up getting a 7.3 f250 instead but I can say that a tuner makes a HUGE difference. Night and day... Not very expensive. Not a difficult installation.
You need a lift, lockers, and at least some 37" inch tires. Then it would be the ultimate van. Then ya could snatch up kids in the middle of swamps if that's ur thing
I have a 7.3 four door 1996 ford power stroke NO dents in awesome condition no rust being that it is in California and belonged to a old man come pick her up grind hard plumbing
@@dustinmiller7278 They do not plant trees and they own no land in scotland.. And the knives are made from cheap steel and not what they say.. So yeah, I would call that a scam.. Glad they are getting blasted for doing so many wrong...

The clips of Edwin and the gange with the van in the past was so wholesome

Just want to put this out there. Ethan is one of the best engineers/fabricators on this platform. Imagine what he could do in a multi million $ shop.
Being a well knowledgeable mechanic myself got to love when friends come by with something for you to work on.

That zip line is so dangerous lol I love it
I have an e350 like that one, with a 7.3. Most reliable van I have ever had.
Watching the footage from your early days of video production was a really cool experience, keep up the great work

Quigley conversion vans are very Rad and worth a lot of $$. A pop top is an awesome addition.
You all nailed it again! Helping a buddy, making an entertaining, informative video AND (for me) it is Friday! Thanks, Plumbers!

The ford is cool but the nostalgia with the eurovan is unreal, grew up with one as the family van and it wad inevitable i had to get me a syncro 😄

those vans!!!! Man the E350 is just wow, here in Australia that thing would be like $100k
I want to build out a camper that could work in cities, but I'm 6' tall and this is just the solution that I have been looking for! Thanks, guys!

I love campers! If you can you can fabricate some interior parts and make it look industrial it would look great
That would be great!
Once he build it out I want to see it
This is what I aspire to turn my channel into. Well done.
It is worth all the hard work
i just help friends not on video
A sweet drone shot would’ve been flying into the van and out of the cut roof. Just love your videos! Video and audio are always on point

Thank you for sharing the early video. As a photographer I love to see the journey as well as the photos. Much Peace

Pretty sick Hampton Beach sweatshirt.
I put one of those pop up roofs in my 1999 Ford Taurus wagon. It's the budget underlander
That BMW sounds exactly like an XJ with a cherry bomb 😆
Haha 😁😆 so cool allsome work boys from the cruzerman 💕🐦
Cool video
Ethan ripping that van around the track like I ripped the mini-bus around bolivia in the division lol.
That Steven shoutout though🤘😁
Honestly that insta 360 was very stable for what it is.
I like how the advertisement was just a side quest to the original video 😁

where was the camping scene shot at? I'd swear it's Glacier National Park, but don't recognize it
Wouldn't be a GHPC video, without Björn barking at something!
that TDI just sounds so good, ALH forever man, the 7.3 not too shabby neither but aint never gonna be an ALH/tdi

i've been considering doing this to my Acura MDX
I've been wanting to do a pop top on my 03 yukon xl 2500 for years
If the shocks were that bad double check the U-joints.
Much ❤️ Love
I would SO want a camper bulid like this (with a supercharged V8) but they are quite rare in Europe…
I remember the vlogs of the diesel swap in the westfailia

Hey Mikes van needs rear U-joints can hear them squeaking bad in the video just a heads up Awesome work tho love the Vans!!!
The synchro is no contest the cooler van. Way more capable machine as well...
Love y'all!! damn heck yeah!!!!
Now you need a diesel engine with a popup tent and build a car around it. 😁
Gotta love that powerstroke
Great job guys .
Hey guys, I'd like to come hang out cuz I live in Spokane. It would be really cool to meet you guys too
Where is the pop top from?

Lap time on the camper van?

If your T3 has lockers it can make real Jeeps blush.
Safety third drawer 👍

anything with a 7.3 is cooler than anything without a 7.3
Might have to snag one of them insta 360 cams, looks so sick
