Queen Mary 2 is a beauty. May seem odd, but I see so many famous past liners in her lines, mostly the original Queen Mary and Normandie. I wonder what it would be like to bring someone who built those amazing ocean liners to the present to get their reactions.
VentuiantaIebrother since the Cunard and White Star Line merged, the service aboard the ship is called "White Star Service" and food menu is "White Star Menu", if I recall correctly.
*This the last Ocean Liner registered and built by Cunard. Also it carries the RMS Prefix even though it is not a mail ship. When it retires it will be an end of an era for Cunard and British Mail and Ocean Liners.*
It is towed, for the most part. As you saw there it had tug boats by its side pushing it, pulling it and what not. Also the cranes pulling it into position.
She is beautiful! My mom just sailed from England to New York last month before this renovation. Do you know what the extra sections are that they added on top?
I love this ship, is bery beautiful, I want go to this cruise ship, because, this ship is elegant and is not like to other cruises that are like to a dinosaur or a apartament and this cruise ship is perfect for me!!
NZT Photography, QM2 was built as a true ocean liner. Even the QE2 struggled on rough seas whereas the QM2 can sail through rough seas like a hot knife cutting butter.
Cunard is a ship company, not a museum company, preservation company, or a hotel company. They don't have the resources to keep an aging ship on dock, preserve old structures, and/or make and maintain floating hotel. So Cunard can only sell their old ships to a company or government willing to do this. If no one wants to buy it, it is sold for scraps. The RMS Queen Mary was bought out by the US and let, thus, wasn't scrapped.
The Creepy Boi in Your Neighborhood no problem. Unfortunately, the Cunard line had to sell the RMS Olympic for scraps because no one else would take it during the great depression. It's so sad because it's Titanic's nearly identical older sister. Had it been preserved, we would be able to visit the almost identical twin of the RMS Titanic.
The original Queen Mary is currently docked in Long Beach, California as a floating hotel and museum, but Cunard sold her to another company for that purpose.
Gerald Putong, no. The QE2 was retired from transatlantic service yet is still used as a cruise ship, and that will most likely be QM2's fate as well. The QE2 will be scrapped long before the QM2 as, by the time QM2 retires from transatlantic service, QE2 will have long exceeded her service life.
Do you plan to set sail on the Queen Mary 2?
bit of a late comment eh
One day if I have enough money
no i dont want to i might get sea sick
@@Rayi_thePancakeMix Actually, QM2 is the most stable ship I’ve ever sailed on.
@@PopularCruising o ok

So beautiful. The Queen Mary 2 is a remarkable ship, and Cunard is the one Carnival Corp. cruise line I would actually consider sailing.
Steve Roth Wonder what White Star Line would be like in modern times.

I love QM2 real transatlantic very elegant fast luxurious huge and most importantly reliable you can feel the spirit of the ocean
Pity. Missed details and facts, such as how long was/is (?) the Refit taking, cost, worked done, etc.
magnificent, she is the most beautifull ship I ever seen
Recs Aiuges She is the most beautiful-modern/old fashion ship.
Isn't this from Cunard line's Channel. But Still IT'S AMAZING!!
Musical recordings are remastered, Ships are refitted. And it shouldn’t take a guitar playing boat Captain to know that.
How does an artist/craftsman land a job applying all the finishing touches and finer details for a project like this? Just curious.
Respect for anyone who can park a ship like that. Is it towed in?
Right?! Nope, it's actually fully maneuverable with propellers and thrusters.
Oh wow... that's really impressive

I can't even parallel park a car.

They are new Balcony Cabins
This partial Deck 13 has 30 Britannia Club cabins and five inside cabins. We have booked one of the "Club" cabins for an October voyage.

The QM2 isn't a cruise ship. she's a ocean liner.
Well a Modern liner, The last real Liner was QE2

Unlimited Works, you building it in Minecraft? You do realize how much a ship costs to build as well as the mind blowing logistics involed right?
QM2 is much bigger than Titanic was.
1:18 to 2:34 repeated segment with a little difference.
They must repaint the lifboats too🙄
I have a question for cunard line.
Why did they scrap the aquitania? since she was the very last four funnel liner

A ship has a refit, not a remastering!
