I left my narc 2wks before Christmas and with a bag of clothes and 3$ in my acct. Leaving everything behind. I moved into domestic violence shelter. It wasn't easy but I got my life back. I was bound to him for 23years. But God!!! Today I now have my OWN apartment fully furnished and so much peace and joy I never had in my life. The ex narcissist was the biggest begger i ever met. Every time i tried to get rid of him, he would beg and plead. I would forgive him but he would resort back to his bad behaviour within days. Also, he would be begging me and other supplies at same time

My wife just died 3 days ago. I believe she was a covert narcissist. She made my life hell to the point I didn't want to be in the same room as her. We have been together for 15 years. She suffered from depression & alcohol addiction, to the point she had several seizures and died. She displayed all the signs of a narcissist. Despite everything she put me through, I really loved her. The more I tried to help her, the more she got angry & fought. My question is, how did you get over her & get thru the emotional trauma bond that was attached to you, even after death...?

I’m so sorry for your loss.I do not share your experience so I can’t comment on it, but I can give some advice from my experience- I think it’s important to really get to the point where you accept that your wife was a narc. This acceptance is really difficult because you have to accept That she was manipulating you for the entirety of your marriage. Every single thing was a lie. Basically, she just pretended to be someone to you that she was not. Only when you truly understand just how detrimental everything they have done to you really is, then will you finally begin to get over them. I wish you well in your healing journey. God bless! x

@opp0628 it took me sometime to get to that point. The first month was a total nightmare. I considered taking my own life. I got help to figure out what was going on. Thank God my therapist specialized in helping victims of narcissistic abuse. I then got educated real quick on narcissists. I am coming up to a year since the discard. I still have good days and not so good days. I am still no contact. I have ignored several hoovers. All I know is I will never give him or anyone else the ability to control and abuse me. It takes time. Best advise is take 1 day at a time. Learn to love yourself again. Wishing you all the best!

I got rid of the narcissist but I can't get rid of the guilt that I feel for having fallen for the games he played. I feel like I deserved the abuse because I was the one that allowed it. I'm glad I left him finally though. Narcs don't change. Especially if they can't even admit to any of their own faults.

I don't think you allowed it. We deal with narcs, its not as simple..its more like they played you the whole damn time. They saw you as their target early on and stalked you. I for a while carried guilt i said yes when he stalked me. My therapist (and friend) said even if i had said no, he woulda still chased after me til i caved. Why? Because they're narcissistic. That's what they do. Also forgive yourself! Easier said than done, i know. It will take a while..but work on starting to forgive yourself. Those of us who sufferrd under their warth and survived...we carry guilt over everything..one of them being "i let it happen"...again they're narcs. These are not normal ppl. What do you think happened when i tried to leave despite the games, my narc?? I experienced his scary narc rage, the threats, etc. Scared me into staying. Even if you tried to leave a narc, its not that easy. Would you have been able to withstand the narc rage and retaliation? You survived. You're not involved. Be proud of that. I had one Narc that told me every day for 9 months that I was stupid. And in the end, I agreed... I was stupid for 9 months. Once I made the decision to go no-contact, I suddenly lost my stupidity.

I discarded my ex-husband twice, went back to him twice. The third time, he discarded me. We continued to communicate for six years as we had a young son and he had his fortnightly access to him. After the six years, there was another 9 years where I was determined to keep him out of my life for good - no contact! He ended up getting cancer of the lungs and liver disease. He died three days before Christmas 2023. I'm finally free for good - Game over - I win - Praise God!

Yes… I was discarded because she got the sense that I was about to leave (was about to). God is prevalent in my life. Grounded in my spirituality. Actually sang again! Reclaimed my joy. I’m still healing, but wow am I happy. I just know that she can’t help how she is, and I can move on from that with more self-love than I came in with. Hi thanks for posting this, I as well was discarded because She thought that I was gonna leave her. It’s like a light switch went OFF in her! One year relationship Done. Demanded the key from my key ring and didn’t even give me time to pack my stuff. Tried to text her 2days later only to see that I was blocked from her phone. I GAVE so much of myself TO HER emotionally , she said I was the “shining star” of her sky” & that she wanted to Grow Old with me.,all the lies. But I won’t lie even though it was only a year this is the first time I’ve ever had a relationship with a female narc. It’s 9months and I’m still recovering, I have days where I feel guilt and regret for not tolerating more just for the sake of being in the relationship and being able to avoid the break up.

The narcissist I dealt with will never admit that I was the best supply she ever had. She constantly degraded me and treated me awful. Now she's wishing she had me as the main supply but I made it clear that it will never happen again. I'm done with narcissists forever!

First and foremost congrats on choosing you and leaving 🙌🏾❤️ I can’t imagine how that felt to seek comfort in family, only to realize that’s also a toxic and unsafe space too. I’ve recently been dealing with similar emotions. Once my eyes became open and I finally left a 4year + toxic relationship with a narc, I spotted 2 more within my family. I was never one of their “flying monkeys” with others but I had been enabling their toxic behavior (towards me) nearly my entire life. I probably only started distancing myself a little more, over the past few years because the narc was draining me too. Now, I’m doing it because my mental, emotional and spiritual health are top priority!

Trust me my sister 2-3 months so far for me since we broke up moved back into my moms and trust me I don’t want to be here either. I get tempted sometimes to hit her up to try and get a home so I can get out of this one. But I’ve been patient and it’s a process. Also I recommend we shouldn’t use someone else to get over them that’s why I’ve been isolating myself (in a healthy way) getting my bread up spending time with my kids when I see them.
What I don't understand is how are they able to just bounce back from ex to exes I will never be waiting around for his new supply to fail for him to come back in my life. That disrespect can never be forgiven.
Not everyone is as strong willed as you are. Narcs just have constant supplies all over the place so they always have someone to run to. But they’re empty inside best believe.

@@Sheshe661972 It CAN takes decades sometimes to overcome trauma and pain from those DEMONS inside of the narcissist. The same thing happened to me in 1974 with my first and only boyfriend. Although we have a daughter together, I had to keep contact limited but it still hurts like hell today.

When he discarded me and moved into his own place with the help of his flying monkey (mother) he decorated his home almost exactly as mine and even bought all white towels and folded them the way I do. I couldn’t believe he picked up every good decorative habit I have. Grey is my favorite color he even bought the same color couches and etc. It was a little scary. He 4 months later began to regret leaving and begged to come back and was willing to break his lease, and I was like oh no! I have been no contact and this has been such a blessing! We are so sad. We loved them and thought they loved us. And we were bashing our heads against the wall trying to figure out why they act like they don't love us. I somehow stumbled on this video (GOD). I left my narcissist husband 2 weeks ago. I finally decided to choose me after 4 years!!! Just got out of a rough narcissistic relationship with a girl. One of the most painful experiences of my life. In the beginning she was 'the best' at everything, my dream woman - I was sold. But soon things began to unravel, though sadly I brushed off the signs. I made excuses for her and did not believe what I was seeing. On two occasions a higher power clearly showed me that I was with the wrong person. On one of our talks with her about my displeasure with her, I heard her say under her breath 'u believe everything' . On another occasion I could hear her say 'u agree with everything' . I believe I was not supposed to hear all this, but a higher power was revealing things to me. She never supported me on any quest, she took and was never giving, she tried to erode my confidence by criticizing me at every opportunity. I left my narc 2wks before Christmas and with a bag of clothes and 3$ in my acct. Leaving everything behind. I moved into domestic violence shelter. It wasn't easy but I got my life back. Rip to the woman I thought I knew and loved. One of the hardest things to come to terms with in the healing process is that the person never existed, it was a figment of our imagination. Being in love with a narcissist is like taking hallucinogens and then when you come off of them you’re like wow I was out of my mind.
My wife just died 3 days ago. I believe she was a covert narcissist. She made my life hell to the point I didn't want to be in the same room as her. We have been together for 15 years. She suffered from depression & alcohol addiction, to the point she had several seizures and died. She displayed all the signs of a narcissist. Despite everything she put me through, I really loved her. The more I tried to help her, the more she got angry & fought. My question is, how did you get over her & get thru the emotional trauma bond that was attached to you, even after death...?

@opp0628 it took me sometime to get to that point. The first month was a total nightmare. I considered taking my own life. I got help to figure out what was going on. Thank God my therapist specialized in helping victims of narcissistic abuse. I then got educated real quick on narcissists.
I am coming up to a year since the discard. I still have good days and not so good days. I am still no contact. I have ignored several hoovers. All I know is I will never give him or anyone else the ability to control and abuse me.
It takes time. Best advise is take 1 day at a time. Learn to love yourself again.

I discarded my ex-husband twice, went back to him twice. The third time, he discarded me. We continued to communicate for six years as we had a young son and he had his fortnightly access to him. After the six years, there was another 9 years where I was determined to keep him out of my life for good - no contact! He ended up getting cancer of the lungs and liver disease. He died three days before Christmas 2023. I'm finally free for good - Game over - I win - Praise God!

Hi thanks for posting this, I as well was discarded because She thought that I was gonna leave her. It’s like a light switch went OFF in her! One year relationship Done. Demanded the key from my key ring and didn’t even give me time to pack my stuff. Tried to text her 2days later only to see that I was blocked from her phone.
I GAVE so much of myself TO HER emotionally , she said I was the “shining star” of her sky” & that she wanted to Grow Old with me.,all the lies. But I won’t lie even though it was only a year this is the first time I’ve ever had a relationship with a female narc. It’s 9months and I’m still recovering, I have days where I feel guilt and regret for not tolerating more just for the sake of being in the relationship and being able to avoid the break up.

I’ve recently been dealing with similar emotions. Once my eyes became open and I finally left a 4year + toxic relationship with a narc, I spotted 2 more within my family.
I was never one of their “flying monkeys” with others but I had been enabling their toxic behavior (towards me) nearly my entire life. I probably only started distancing myself a little more, over the past few years because the narc was draining me too. Now, I’m doing it because my mental, emotional and spiritual health are top priority!

Trust me my sister 2-3 months so far for me since we broke up moved back into my moms and trust me I don’t want to be here either. I get tempted sometimes to hit her up to try and get a home so I can get out of this one. But I’ve been patient and it’s a process. Also I recommend we shouldn’t use someone else to get over them that’s why I’ve been isolating myself (in a healthy way) getting my bread up spending time with my kids when I see them.

When he discarded me and moved into his own place with the help of his flying monkey (mother) he decorated his home almost exactly as mine and even bought all white towels and folded them the way I do. I couldn’t believe he picked up every good decorative habit I have. Grey is my favorite color he even bought the same color couches and etc. It was a little scary. He 4 months later began to regret leaving and begged to come back and was willing to break his lease, and I was like oh no! I have been no contact and this has been such a blessing! We are so sad. We loved them and thought they loved us. And we were bashing our heads against the wall trying to figure out why they act like they don't love us. I somehow stumbled on this video (GOD). I left my narcissist husband 2 weeks ago. I finally decided to choose me after 4 years!!! It’s painful but I know this pain is temporary compared to the lifelong pain I will endure if I stay. This video along with the comments is giving me strength. Just got out of a rough narcissistic relationship with a girl. One of the most painful experiences of my life. Thought she was a sweet innocent beautiful girl who overtime I began to see she was a literal psycho. Clear lack of any empathy when I called her out for how I was being treated. I just went through a narcissistic relationship with my female boss but I was too strong for her unfortunately I had to leave my job and walk out of the store because she was sick demonic individual I don't know how she's employed for this major company but one day by the grace of God she will have her day the most evil despicable person I've ever met in my life
In the beginning she was 'the best' at everything, my dream woman - I was sold. But soon things began to unravel, though sadly I brushed off the signs. I made excuses for her and did not believe what I was seeing. On two occasions a higher power clearly showed me that I was with the wrong person. On one of our talks with her about my displeasure with her, I heard her say under her breath 'u believe everything' . On another occasion I could hear her say 'u agree with everything' . I believe I was not supposed to hear all this, but a higher power was revealing things to me. She never supported me on any quest, she took and was never giving, she tried to erode my confidence by criticizing me at every opportunity. I'm glad I finally got rid of that devilish being and I've been happy ever since
