I too have known the insidious pain of Arthritis for most of my life which makes my Heart goes out to Frank& you even more💔 Cannabis has been THE saving Grace for me & All of my Older Animals🙏 thankfully there are a multitude of products out there. Hopefully Frank finds some HEALING & Relief from the pain soon🍀🤞
I'm 34. Been married. Been chasing love since I was old enough to conceptualize it at about 15. Lots of toxic long term relationships. I finally accepted I was the common denominator in all of them. Decided to quit dating and just be with myself. Now it feels like a super power. I don't need anyone to be content.

Totally agree that there is no such thing as ‘the right one’. I was married for 7 years, had 3 children and have now been divorced for 47 years. Yes, I am old now. My point: I have done just fine being solo, raising my kids and enjoying my own company. Since I became responsible for only myself, I have had some great adventures, and I love my life. Last fall, I bought a minivan, did a no-build inside and have lots of plans to start traveling in Canada in early spring. Age is just a number, and you do not need a spouse to ‘complete’ you. I am woman; hear me roar! Amanda and Frank are awesome! ❤

I needed this today! I am having lots of health issues and two days ago I lost my best friend Daisy she was 13 years old. Just started coughing, got her to the vet and there was a large tumor. I am getting by because I know she's at peace and I gave her the best life possible. So this video touched me deeply thank you Amanda and I'm praying blessings for you and Frank. ❤

I have been in toxic relationships and they were hard to rid myself of. Years later, I finally enjoy my solitude and don't require anyone to enjoy my life. Relationships for me are too much trouble. I am very happy just being with myself and no one tells me what to do, how to act, etc.....I like me and will always strive for improvement, but I don't need to change for others including me. Hope Frank is comfortable and getting the rest his poor body needs. Take care of you and Frank. You both deserve that.....Always.

I don't think it's a matter of loving another person but not settling for less than we want in life JUST to have another person by our side. I do everything alone. And I prefer it. I maintain an open heart and know I'll get what I need. Frank's underwater swimming footage. Love that. The ariel views of the tideline waves weaving in and out if each other, was quite mesmerizing. Per usual, your words are always gentle reminders to be self aware, self loving and gentle with ourselves. I understand your perspective, as for quite some time after my divorce, people would just randomly say, “Don’t worry. The right person will come along.” I finally realized that I’m not actually looking for someone and I’m not willing to wait around for them. My life is NOW, and every day is a day that’s lost if I’m not out living it. Now, people say, “I can’t believe some of the things you do.” Would they rather I sit and wait? That’s just insane, imo. All that said, I’ll take each day and enjoy it as it flows. Hopefully, I’ll continue to meet and enjoy many friends.

You could be called anything you like or not anything at all: in my days I was called a “free-spirit”. I was a photographer and film maker that enjoyed my time alone with my camera. But, don’t be too surprised if one day you find someone that becomes a close friend without drama.
I'm 57 and rejected 3 marriage proposals. Traveled and volunteered for world aid agencies, and can go help disaster relief at the drop of a hat when need arises if I want. Turn the truck in whatever direction the world needs. Now that's what I enjoy doing, but I do it alone. Live your best life. And being alone is what is best for some of us

Long story short I was married one time now I'm single. Prior to me getting married I really didn't want to be single. But now after being single again I find it is ever. Wake up when I want and don't have to worry about pissing off somebody else. Last week I enjoyed three night time campfires by the ocean, out of my CRV with my dog along coast in Washington State.
The Big Dipper is so much brighter at the ocean. Easier to fall asleep as camp fire goes out.
I'm going through the same problem with my dog. I understand!. Tomorrow he goes to a specialist and I have to decide which direction we will go. It's so hard. Is he suffering, I don't know. 11 years of "perfect " and one day of hell. Again, it's so hard.

It’s not true that someday the right one will come along. For many people that never happens. That’s why it’s important to be fine with being single. I do get a little tired of people saying this phrase.

I have never been to a bar, do not drink, or use drugs. I got married to my husband when I was young. We celebrated our 50th anniversary this June. Our kids flew home for the week-end and we all spent the week-end together. I have never done what you are doing. We both retired together when we finally helped the last child finish his university degree. So now we enjoy life together. Guess life is different with everyone. I have been following you for awhile and will continue. May you be blessed with health and peace and joy!

I think you are an amazing woman and you are so good at doing things your own way. If you have small problems, you deal with it, especially driving an older vehicle, but that is so cool how you can go days without talking to anyone other than your viewers, and you can make so many decisions on what to do with yourself next, without saying a word to anyone except to Frank and yourself. Some other people do not understand how great it is to not have to deal with anyone but yourself and your dog. You do you!

What a gorgeous location! Being able to enjoy your own company is so powerful. I had given up on having a spouse because of similar issues, ie. someone trying to control you, when I met my husband and kindred spirit on a ski trip. But had I not met him I was fine to be alone. Don’t regret the past, you have learned valuable lessons and shaped the today Amanda, who is a beautiful person. What I have recently learned is that simple living is key. I am still working on shedding some society expectations that I have been suckered into. You seem to be further into that journey, and I truly thank you for sharing your wisdom. ☮️

And yes, they do seem like a waste of time but no, they taught me things about myself and this world we live in. Kudos for having strong boundaries!!! Mine have become a lot stronger too.
Love this video, great scenery, so serene. I have come to so many of the same conclusions as you, and the times I have wasted looking for a partner have been just that "wasted time" the best thing to do is to find yourself, and be happy. Seems like most of society is searching for someone to complete them and I just don't believe I am incomplete. Or even "single" I am already a whole entire person lol ! Being alone and happy is a special skill, not everyone knows how to do it.

Ive been single now for over 15 years and love being alone. I have just myself to please and not some over expecting, demanding man that only cared about himself. So yes you are 100% correct.

As someone who lives a fairly solitary life, this whole video really resonated with me. Your setting is dramatically more beautiful though, what an amazing place! Have you ever messed with night sky photography? I’m sure your Sony would do great. It’s surprising what is possible on a static tripod and some software.

I’m 70 and I’ve practiced serial monogamy for 50 years. That’s enough!!! I’ve been living alone for 8 years. I’m happy.
A couple things: One, Frank absolutely fits his name. It is a strong stoic name. He just looks like a Frank. :) Being alone: So i think that the art of being comfortable alone is so valuable. I travel alone, shop alone, camp alone, pretty much do everything alone if you don't count my dogs. The dogs keep me from being lonely but it sure would be nice to have a human to share driving or beautiful sites with. I have a few friends that I camp with and it makes it a lot of fun especially since we have our own rigs and can go to our own space when we need alone time. Sharing a van/tent/rv would be a challenge since the dogs don't really want to share me at bedtime. I think it is good to just wake up and take each day moment by moment and deal with everything as it comes. I hope Frank is feeling better in days to come. I know how much you love him. It is hard to watch and not be able to fix it.
Only just found your channel and already binging. I'm almost 48 and have been celibate for a few years, single for a few more and honestly can't imagine ever wanting to be in a relationship again. Being able to pretty much do what I want, when I want, enjoy my own company and chase my own dreams without having to compromise and settle and change who I am for another person, is worth more than any possible benefit to being in a relationship. I have an amazing family and amazing friends and none of them cause me the kind of aggravation and stress that I've had in any serious relationship. I just don't like myself when I'm in a relationship, I feel like a reluctant carer who can't think about anything else but how to make my partner happy and it's exhausting and thankless. Now I spent all that energy on myself and on many others too, but with no obligations. Love your channel, will keep binging x

I have fought for years to try to keep family and friends in my life but what I have realized is that I too am happier alone. No drama, no arguing, no expectations ect... I feel more healthier and alive by myself .

I'm a 25 year old woman and i never really had much luck dating, just a one time experience to be precise and that was also very short lived and not the healthiest. This video gave me a sense of calmness in a very long time because we live predominantly in a world where everyone emphasises on having someone, for once it is very refreshing to see people who are candidly happy being on their own and who understand that companionship is not the only joy that one must try to seek all the time, not to say that having someone who loves you is necessarily always drama and toxic but in the end of most situations in life it is only You. Also Frank deserves all the love...Thanks Amanda for this video!
Amanda, I see this video resonated with a lot of people. I totally understand about the joy of being alone. Moving thru the day at your own pace and in your own way.
Relationships can be fun or awful. And you never really know what your getting until the romancing and capture is complete. I managed along the way to marry two abusive men plus 1 alcoholic. I adopted the baseball system to protect myself - 3 strikes you’re out!!! So I will never marry or live with anyone again. I’ve had several guy friends. Then a couple of men I loved and never lived with. They ended up loving the fact we never lived together. Said it was like a honeymoon when we spent time together. Unfortunately one man was killed in a tragic accident and the other died of cancer. Lot of recovery required from losing them.
So now I choose not to date. Not to look. Am so happy on my own spending time with my women friends or traveling alone. I also have a Grand Caravan that I camp in. Nature always soothes and heals my soul. Plan to start spending more time away from home camping in my van. Spending my days outside. I hike, cook outside, eat outside. I have a cooking shelter. So I can spend my whole day in nature and sleep so well at night. Spending days in fresh air really relaxes me.

I have been single most of the time since 2005. I have dated and have had one really serious relationship since then. All of which turned out to be disasters. Drama, etc. I have not dated for 5 years and I have also been spending a lot of time figuring out myself, and all the reasons for choosing the relationships I have. And breaking many, many cycles. I am also nomadic with my dog, and not sure how it would ever work to share this life now. Maybe? But I am almost 58 yrs old and I have zero time to waste so sharing my life with someone is not looking good. It does get incredibly lonely sometimes and I miss love for sure, BUT, I am definitely just as happy as anyone AND a LOT less stressed and dramatized, and I love that!

The person that is meant for you will find you. Yes it does get lonely but you're doing what you need to do for you first. You are living life and exploring places. When you least expect it thats when someone who understands your way of thinking and joy of they life you chose will meet you. Keep being the genuine person you are. There’s also a chance she wont find someone that’s “meant for her” and thats perfectly fine. I see so many people especially nowadays telling women they’ll eventually find their perfect person.. but with the direction the world is going there’s a huge chance a lot of us won’t find that person. Not trying to attack your comment because everything you said was perfect but for the single folks that may come by this I hope they know they might not find “the one” and that’s okay💜 constantly holding onto the idea of another person coming into your life will only lead to more sadness and emptiness. I hope everyone stays content especially when alone because it’s extremely powerful!

I am an introvert, I was an only child, and have always enjoyed my own space. Being alone has never bothered me. Sometimes it is just too peoply out there... Ha ha.. I'm a single female with a dog that is extremely selective..he hated my last BF.. he'd constantly bark at him. He used his face to leverage off to get that spot...I'm too much of a giver. Men have been to lazy which leads to mental overload carrying them through .. telling them what to do. I love my solitude

The longer you spend alone the more you tend enjoy your own company (especially if you've got an animal companion). I've found that when it comes to dating, I am more unwilling than ever to want to change for anyone or live with something about that that I don't like because the reality is we don't have to live that way. Of course sometimes things might be better shared but I can honestly say that I have enjoyed my every minute of my solitude on the road. Cheers, Amanda!

There is a lot to be said for living your life as you want, alone or together with someone or both. After 20 years of fits and starts and endings, I experienced over 20 years with the love of my life, who I found in mid- life, and lost four years ago. Now in the sunset of my life, I am enjoying my alone time. It’s all about living the life you’re in. You are doing a good job of that.

Noticed you haven't been posting about roasting beans or coffee making lately have you cut back on that also?
Thank you Renay 🙏🏼 I truly appreciate the support of viewers like yourself that have been along for the entire journey so far. I haven’t roasted beans since the spring due to renovations and such so I’ve been buying coffee. I only drink one cup a day and have made it a little smaller so just verrrry slightly cut back although I am considering removing it entirely. I like the flavour but I don’t need the caffeine anymore.

Try the mushroom coffee, or mushroom (hardly any coffee) coffees. Yum. Less acid, more health aspects.
I like my own company too. It’s easy to lose yourself in a relationship. The drone shot with the waves crashing was amazing. You could do an entire video just of that. Now that the weather has changed I’m looking forward to rainy cosy videos
I really enjoy my own company but then again I have a heeler too so Im never really alone. Love your travels ❤️
