Not surprised at all. The Knob Creek 12 year would be a great value at TWICE the price! It is one of my all time favorites and I can still find it when I need another bottle. It has the flavor profile that truly defines what a good bourbon should be!

I really miss all of those 15 year Knob store picks that were so plentiful 3 or 4 years ago. Takes the regular 12 release to a whole new level!
Knob Creek 12 is readily available in my area for $70. One of my favorite bourbons.
Kc 12 year for me is one of thr best bottles that is fairly easy to get

I've only ever seen Knob Creek 12 *two times.* One of those times it was 80 and the other time it was 120.

My local Target gets KC 12 and it's the best price I've ever seen at $62. Perhaps your place had it mismarked.

Before even watching the video. I had seen the KC12 at drops in virginia but just had something else in mind. One time, i peeked my head into a store, wasn't interested 8n what was available, and was about to head to another store. Then, I decided eff it and got the KC12. I'll just say that was a good decision, and i won't look past it anymore
So what I have taken from this video is that I need to hunt down some of those Italian Rainbow Cookies...cuz dang...that looked delicious. This was great triple bass...kudos to whoever suggested it!

Yesterday I picked up a bottle and I agree it is one of the best/enjoyable bourbons I have ever had. It is the right blend of flavors that makes using the word delicious accurate. It might just become my favorite. Need to spend more time to be sure but what an amazing first impression.
I'm enjoying a 1792 Full Proff, fantastic.
Add the WT12 in the mix as well.
I just wish they had higher proof version of the KC12 like they do for the 9yr single barrels. Please jimmy b 🙏
KC offered a 12 year cask strength a few years ago. I haven't seen one in the wild, though.
With awesome regulars like KC12, Stagg, ECBP, and LBP in the $60 range I really hesitate to pay more than $100 for anything else! Thanks as always for the review!
I'm surprised by the results as I recently did a flight at the Evan Williams experience in Louisville featuring EW 12yr, Elijah Craig 12yr & Lacency 12yr and the red label smashed the other for flavour and finish. Undoubtedly one of the best bourbons I have tasted cheers.
When I was first getting into bourbon I got a sample of KC12 and a sample of a KC single barrel. I did a blind with those and the standard KC9. I was surprised I picked the standard KC9. Now that I’ve been into bourbon a little longer it would be cool to do the blind again and see how my taste has changed. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the 1792 12, the EW12 is definitely not in my budget.
Knob Creek 12 is my jam. So good for the price and availability.

yay KC12, i was root’n for ya! i’ve tried the ew12 (re-imported), and thought it was just confectionary sugar with a touch of oak/ leather- far too simple to be worth the $200 i spent on a bottle (and all the reimportation fuss).
Just did this but had the Weller 12 in place of the EW12. KC 12 is always in my cabinet. Really enjoy it. Really nice dark not too sweet oak.

I wish KC 12 was priced better in my area. Everyone is charging secondary pricing. 150. Luckily I found 2 bottles for 70 each. But only once have I seen it and the store hasn't brought in anymore
My favorite bottle is the Knob creek single barrel it’s just everything I want from a bourbon and it’s available and affordable.
Hi Jason. I just picked up the EW 12 in Tokyo last week for 33 bucks! I think it is a killer for that price and will be getting more when I go back!
I'm actually surprised the Evan didn't come out on top. It's one of the best pours I've ever had and my KC12 just kinda sits on my shelf. It's not bad, but my palate seems to be moving away from the Beam profile, I guess.

Knob 12 is probably my favorite findable bottle there is. I can never get it in the south, but oh boy is it on the shelf in NJ

I have the Knob Creek 12, 18, and 9 year single barrel reserve. The 9 year is by far my favorite, then the 18, and the 12 year pretty much just sits there. I always hope friends will want a pour, so I can get rid of it. I like the 1792 and I have never had the Evan Williams 12.
I've heard there is a lot of variation in batches of Knob Creek 12. Maybe you got a dud.

Kc12 always delivers. Never tired of it, can find it. And can find it at good price.
I Bought EW 12 at the distillery last November and it was 149.99 plus tax. It lost in a blind that I did with it also !
Interesting comparison! If price and availability are factored in, there would be an even bigger gap between the Knob Creek and the rest! Shows what a great value the Knob Creek 12 is to be on the shelf for ~$70 most of the year.

EW 12 seems overpriced. It’s basically only sold in the US at the Evan Williams experience in Louisville, and they charge about $100 more than what they charge for it in Japan (it’s about $40 USD there). They also have the Master Blend and 23 year expressions there, both are a bit overpriced but worth a try.
Calumet 12yr is pretty good. I'd like to see how it holds up against JD12 and KC12.

Just had 1792 12yr for the first time. I would put it right there with KC12 in the excellent category.

KC 12 used to sit on the shelves in PA until they did a half off purge recently. I got a couple bottles but concerned about what that means going forward.

I’m a fan over here now cause of @bourbonjunkies. Just wanted to throw that in here. Anyway, I’ve become a quick fan here, happily subscribed. I can’t wait to get some Knob 12. If you haven’t done yet I’d say a port finished blind video. Some of my favorites, but I’m still an amateur. I’m also very curious about Texas bourbon, another idea. Anyways cheers!

KC12 is one of my all time favorites, that's why I have 9 of them. That being said, I do wish that it was about 110-120 proof.

Now you need a 12 Year battle with KC12, Weller 12 and Jack Daniels 12.
Jack would blow those out of the water. I actually think the weller 12 would come in last.
No real surprise here. Knob Creek just makes great whiskey.
My brother and I did a similar taste test - Konb Creek 12 was our winner. Not absolutely amazing, but a great pick up.

Enjoy seeing a regular shelf find taking down harder to find whisky! Keep this theme going with other age stated bottles. Would also be fun to see if younger age can take down older….
You know what's weird. I got a KC12 around this time last year, and it's one of my least favorite bottles I have (granted my collection isn't huge, 25 bottles or so). It's very sharp and nail polish-y, none of the dark and refined flavors you speak of here. Maybe it's the particular batch is different. I put it in a blind with several cheaper 100 proof options and my friends also all put it dead last. It makes me want to try another bottle and see how different it might be
I was also unimpressed with my bottle. I did a Beam blind when I first opened it up and it lost to OGD BiB for both me and my gf. 😂 Weeks later it beat it, but not drastically.

Before I watch, I'm going to hazard a guess that Knob Creek 12 will take top honors. I've had that one, and the 1792. I've not had the Evan Williams. But Knob Creek is so good, that I can't imagine it not winning. I shall see very soon. Thanks for another great matchup video!

I will always have KC12 on my shelf! A bunch of deliciousness. I'm not a fan of 1792 12yr., although I haven't put it up in a blind it tastes a bit one dimensional to me and doesn't live up to it's 12yr. age statement. Can't wait to crack my EW12 that I just picked up in Japan! Bought it through Amazon Japan, delivered to my AirBnb for $40! Gotta go back to Japan! LOL
I am always leery to put Jim Beam in blinds unless it’s up against other Jim Beam or Heaven Hill products.
With that said, Know Creek is kind of an exception, because I don’t get punched in face with peanut.

Feels like Full Proof is the only 1792 special release I ever see in my area. I wish the others were more readily available. Good products for the price from what I've tasted.

Not sure what’s up w Evan Williams pricing. The 12 year is out of whack and the Single barrel that used to be $35 and everywhere is now a distillery only bottle and $50….86 proof no less. It’s all going the wrong way to keep my interest. Long live the KC12! Cheers
