Good content. Questions: If I only do local hauling and my budget is tight, so I'm considering a cargo van as my only vehicle, would a medium roof, regular wheelbase, Ford Transit work or do I need a long wheelbase? Let's say that I also live in an apartment, in a large city with very limited parking and I have to pay monthly for my parking spot. Is it possible to compromise a bit on the size of my van in order to use it as my all purpose, daily driver? Then, I'd have only one car payment, one insurance payment and one parking fee. If I did this, would the regular wheelbase van cost me too many local short haul jobs? Asking for a friend.
@@JourneyWithCameron Thank you so much. I hope this will help my son make his decision. He's been racking his brain for months over this stuff He considered going to a trucking school and getting a CDL, buying a box truck, doing over road cargo van delivery or doing local courier work. All of the options have been driving him crazy. I think that a medium size, 130" wheelbase cargo van is a good choice for a big city apartment dweller, who is considering starting a local delivery business and owning only one vehicle. Like many things in life, compromises have their pluses and minuses. But, I see it this way: If you don't absolutely require a big box truck or huge cargo van, then why buy such a large comercial sized vehicle, just in case you MIGHT need it? If you suddenly decide to quit your delivery business one day and your medium size van is paid off, you wouldn't even need to sell it. You could keep it for many years as your back-up vehicle for towing, road trips, camping and fishing trips, outdoor sports, moving and weekend household pick-up truck duties. A huge van is much less versatile. It's really only good for running a cargo business.
