    You must be really firm when you close it mate, we have had ours for over a year and the clip has not failed us once. Just be a bit more gentle mate. The way you pull it out and put it back in is just way to much force.

      @@Cleaning_Hero . No still going strong but I got fed up with the auto dust cartridge clean so I do it manually as it gets more out. Also when I wash it I do use a soft paint brush to gently clean it.

    Good review - one thing I noticed, as you opened the canister door, the rubber seal ring was full of dust, this would not help the locking lever (yellow) to have enough tension hence why you were able to open the door with your hand - I do believe that Miele should redesign the lever with a stronger spring and not use the plastic lever as a spring.

  • @georgesaint4417
    @georgesaint4417 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    2:17 very true the locking mechanism is rather weak. But you just have to make sure the clip is well and truly locking. Close the lid then with your thumb press the underneath the lid close to the lock and you'll here a click and it's closed.

    Just bought this unit today. I also notice the dust bin is not sealed. I shake the bin and I see tiny dust starts to fall out of the bin even it stay closed. I agree with you, that dust bin can be improved. But this is my third Mille machine now, so it tells how much I trust their product. Always powerful, reliable, not light, but I am okay with that,

    I just bought it, made first clean and emptied the bin. Then I saw this video to check comfort clean button. I checked again that yellow button and it looks like ok. Because there is nothing make click sound. It just holding and if you push the lid little right it will hold it much better.

    Thanks for an informative review. I agree with others that Miele ought to come to the party re the faulty clip on your dust thingy. One small things: I found the sound volume to be very low - I had to turn my speakers all the way up to hear you clearly. Otherwise, a very worthwhile clip.

  • @Cleaning_Hero
    @Cleaning_Hero 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Also, using an air compressor to blow out that filter is a great tip. It will blow all the dust out of it which gets ride of odors, restores suction and prolongs the life of it.

    I have the blue bagless just like yours. I’ve had it two years now, but my clamp stays shut. However, it isn’t the tightest clamp and Miele should redesign it. It seems to be a problem for other owners of this model. The vacuum is strong though and cleans nicely. My only other complaint is that the cord is a bit short.

  • @TRUONGSPORT

    We replaced an upright Kenmore and really love this vacuum🌼 It works well on both our carpets and tile. We have a lot of tile an I like how easy it is to use this vacuum on it. It sucks up the dog hair nicely. Also, the swivel head on the hard floor attachment is ingenious--I can easily maneuver around chairs and other furniture to get into tight spots.

    I find the little yellow catch on the dust bin lets go sometimes when I full it straight up off the machine to detach it when emptying the machine. And it's not over full. I have learnt now to take it out on the deck to attempt to empty it , in case I have a mess.Then I use a dust pan and brush to clean out the spilled debris. Defeats the purpose of a hepra filter.

    How is this vac going Richo? I'm in the market for a Miele (I owned one 10 yrs ago before selling it for a bagless Dyson and I always regretted it, the Dyson was a great vac and has lasted 10 yrs but the Miele suction was always a step above)
    Anyway I'm leaning towards returning to a bagged model like the C3. You can get 16pk bags relatively cheap and I think they're still going to be superior to any bagless options. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I was also looking at options like the new Dyson V11 cordless but for the price and a little inconvenience, I think the Miele C3 is the way to go.

    I would never buy a Miele vacuum again ! The only vacuum that gets 'upset' when you ask it to pick up some dust !!!!! Red lights, Amber Lights, switches it's self off, and the filters OMG what a faff !
    The 'retractable' brush on the end of the hose does not lock into position , resulting in the end of the hose scratching the floor or surface you are trying to clean.( before the "red light, amber light ........kicks in.) Now, Mr Dyson sir ......

      You should NEVER put ANY petroleum products on plastic, the will get brittle, form haircracks and break.
      What you all need to do is wash the thing out, just with plain luke warm water, nothing more and let it dry till it is completely dry.
      Accumulation of fine dust will cause things like springs, levers and hinges to go heavy and not latching, sliding or closing.

    This is my second replacement Miele CX1 Blizzard Pet vacuum and I noticed on my first unit and replacement units that they seem to leak/ let dust escape from the bin itself when the vacuum is up right and placed on the floor. If you tap it or shake it a bit I’ve noticed large debris around the bin that have fallen to the ground around the bin area. Also, I have a concern with the air blowing out of the side versus straight up as this disturbs all the dirt that is on the ground pushing it up into the air and behind furniture defeating the purpose of cleaning. Let me know if anyone else who owns this vacuum has the same issue?

    • @mirzacandrei5143
      @mirzacandrei5143 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought same model this week and already notice the issue with leaking dust from the bin. It is definitely a flaw in the design, since it's only fixed on that small yellow clip while the bottom base is a bit elastic and could bend easily and so the dust is leaking. In general I'm quite disapointed with the product, leaking dust is the last thing you want to see from a vacuum cleaner.

    The exhaust comes out the side kicking up dust everywhere
    Would be better if it came out the top.
    Also don’t like the attached brush function nor inability to reduce suction at the handle
    The cord retraction is a pain. I don’t like one touch full rewind.
    The small canister attachment inside plastic thing stopped fitting in place after 6 months.

    Is anyone else having trouble getting the wand to stay in the slot at the side of the vacuum? Our old one had the slot at the back of the vacuum, and we had no problem getting the want to stay in place (while being stored). With this one, though, the slot seems too wimpy to hold the heavy wand...it's so annoying. So far, that's my only complaint...but it is super annoying.

      Was the dust bin latch issue resolved ? Was the problem addressed under warranty ? I have had my Blizzard CX1 less than 24 hours before there was a latch failure. The yellow latch mechanism appears to be misaligned due to lack of even force behind the latch. I had my retailer request for a replace dust bin but I tend to think it's poor design...I've had better locking mechanisms on a $50 Discount Shop vac.

      No Max mode is intended for carpets to get the most dirt out. Lower mode is for rugs that are not held down and hard floors that does not require such strong suction to pick up the dirt. Common sense really. Dust and dirt cling to carpets but not hard floors. Carpets need a brush roller to agitate the dust out.

  • @robber576
    @robber576 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Rtfm and use common sense? , sorry, i dont mean to be rude but that what it boils down to, compliments on the video, thats how i like a review, simple, short and plain 👍🏻
    most problems i saw in your vid and read about here are all about not looking at the manual and not using common sense, all machinery needs maintenance and so does a vacuumcleaner, this thing does a reasonable job in keeping itself clean and working but if you filter out very very fine dust particles these have a tendency to build up everywhere, that causes two problems, it makes mechanics get stuck and plastics loose their anti static self cleaning, once it is covered with that thick film of grey dust you show in the video it will get worse even faster, do you remember when it was brand new, clean, and the and most dirt just fell out the dustbin cleanly without having to shake it?
    you should every once in a while wash the dust bin and filters with just warm water to the point of spotless clean, there are some yt vids showing how to do it and take the filters apart, a soft clean, new paint brush and microfiber cloth and some soap can help but not on the white fine particle filter miele doesn't want you to use soap on,brushes or cloth on that filter, i guess it may change/worsen the anti statics of the plastic.
    If it does the cleaning cycle by itself over and over again its time ( or was a few uses before) to wash the fine filter out, if you want to filter very fine particles you need very small holes in the filter, small holes clog very easy, the self cleaning action works well but there is an end to it at which point you need to clean it by rinsing of, before you even open the fine dust container fill it with water and shake it, the fine dust will be be waterlogged and no longer airborn, take it apart and rinse of, ofcourse let everything dry before you reuse them, best practice is do this after you used it so it will be dry the next time you need to use it, the manual suggests a minimal 24 hours to dry.
    The lid problem : dont shut it with a throw like a car door, close it and press firmly with your thumb where the orange latch is slowly till you hear it click, the video shows exactly what is done wrong sometimes by slamming the door shut, the slam may cause the door to jump open again before the orange latch had a chance to grip the door firmly, you are doing it to cassual.
    In general, so i dont mean specifically you😉, it amazes me how bad people can be in understanding how to work with mechanical devices and inability to understand that one needs to rtfm, even when it is in their native spoken language and set up to be read by a toddler people refuse to do it, for me as a mechanical technician its mind boggling how you can spend a lot of money on high quality gear and not push yourself to understand how to properly operate it and getting the most for your money in lifespan, ease of use, lowest running cost and total cost of ownership.
    On the other hand and in their defense; no one has ever went to school to learn these things, we are all in the assumption we are experts but i can see most are not.
    I will bet ya this thing will last for 15 year or more if you treat it right, if you dont maybe 5 or even less if out of frustration it ends on ebay.
    It should be an obligated item on schools ; electro-mechanics around the house and how to use them 😉

Cable is too short. Flexible hose pipe is too short and so soft, that standing on it over time will only see to it splitting. Requires CONSTANT cleaning of the cleaning box bay.......why?.......because the box leaks fine dust EVERYWHERE! Wait until you have a dark colored carpet, clean it, switch off the cleaner and stand it upright......and see all the dust fall out of the back of the unit all over your clean carpet........cheap plastics used wherever possible......the hinge on the dust box is like some cheap contraption from the East, with no strengthening cotter pins.......this will not last more than two years.......the locking switch that 'secures' the dust box lid is like something out of a cereal packet! It WILL BE BROKEN in two years........if you ever drop your dust box, it will be GAME OVER......it will NEVER survive a hit........the filters have to be cleaned constantly or the motor whines and becomes irritatingly high-pitched.......the 'comfort' handle is SO UNCOMFORTABLE to use, it will make your wrist ache, not like the old Miele I had.......you have to constantly clean the rotating brush heads as they easily wrap with threads and cannot be removed for cleaning like a Dyson can be......I SPEND MORE TIME CLEANING MY CLEANER THAN CLEANING MY HOME......YES!!!!!! Fisher Price toys are MADE BETTER!!!!! Those giving any more than two stars have only JUST bought theirs and not experienced my problems YET!!! Mine is 6 months old and I am going to sell it, take the hit in the pocket and look much harder for something better, which shouldn't be too hard, but NOW I KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR!!!!!!!!!! *****DO NOT BUY****

    Total lemon. Miele have damaged their otherwise good name with this unit. Id request a full refund from miele as it is misleading by way of its marketing material and its poor quality for purchase price point. Poor form miele. Should have done some more product testing in actual use prior to releasing to the market. I will never buy miele again. This is brand damaging quality.
